Need Help In Central Texas.........

Here's a nice 'bed-down' I found the other day near the BF Trail, it was about 7' long, and had a distinct large body shape.......that's my canteen thrown in the middle. I must admit, I laid down in it, and was cozy:)

Also found a fairly large cave that I hadn't noticed before, and hard to see in the two photos as well. Gonna take some rope out there soon, and climb up there. Better pack my Bear Spray for that hike, and works great on any kind of critter - especially hogs - as there might be big kitties in this cave.

Hey guys.......does anyone miss me:)? I have a new (used) field camera, bought on Ebay.......no USB cord or directions, but cheap. I have the missing components coming, so can start down loading new photos of the BF Trail continuation, please stay tuned. Looks like the new camera is taking much better photos.

Yes sir.  Please keep them coming as my BF-area has dried up over the last year and I am having to live through others experiences.

Bigtex, looking forward to your new photos!

Don't mean to wander off topic, but do you ever catch any flack for owning a wolf?  My wife has a pitbull that could be the most loving dog we've ever had...too bad some bad dog owners have given such a great breed such a bad reputation.  (Petey from the Little Rascals series was a pit!)

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier is one of the most loving dogs you can ever have. Great with kids, friendly, loving. They got a bad rap due to guys trying to train them to fight, they are very powerful, but unless you've trained them to be mean, they aren't.

Hey Ex......no issues down here with Wolfy, she goes to the Vet, has all shots, and is listed as a Malamute mix:) I live in a country town, plus she behaves very well, better than my other two, very gentle & sweet.......but still maintains that wild aloof personality. She is well known & loved in town, and has been around lots of folks from the beginning. Unlike the other two who bark like crazy when someone comes to the front door, she slinks off, hides, and watches silently, and only comes out when I greet guests at the door. Once they have been greeted in a positive way, she comes out......and they are part of the pack.

OK.......new camera and pictures downloaded. I hope the new camera has a little better detail, can anyone tell?

Continuing on the BF Trail, and heading on Eastside from 'The Funnel', or bridge on FM 1431. There are three creeks which come together just East of the Bridge, are labeled on the map, and I followed Creek #1, which eventually ends up at the Power Lines. I followed it yesterday for about a half mile, very dense, and stopped at a drainage pipe (seen in last photo 1L), which goes under an access road to the Balcones Canyonlands NWR. I will pick it up on the other side of drain pipe in another post.

First series of pictures are on the Westside, on final approach to the bridge, and entering the Eastside. The entrance to Creek #1 is first, notice the limb picture, and the area outlined in red that is worn from being grabbed to pull up. Pictures are in order, and listed 1A-L. I will post some other pictures of interest taken along the way in another post.

They do look better:) Here are a few pics from along the way on Creek #1. First is a footprint, much better 'live', and was on an incline, with the foot sliding down a bit......notice the earth pilled up on the right downward side. Just a bit further, another same size print. I was on a ledge about 25 feet up looking down at creek, and saw what looked like several prints......I did not climb down to inspect further. Here's another along the trail, and marked red to the right.......can you see the Wolf watching me from the trees? And finally.......Lucy with a Deer leg bone that she has just bitten through, and ate the marrow.

Great pix BT I think they look better. What a great place to hike. Lots of interesting features, looks kind of lonely. Also those tracks you didn't check closer, look very interesting from where you were. It almost looks like a hand print coming up out of the creek.
