southernyahoo Posted June 16, 2011 Share Posted June 16, 2011 I'm a little dismayed, /a/ is pronounced ah as in "fAther" /i/ is pronounced ee as in "kIwI" and /u/ is pronounced oo as in "sUe". So the answer would be two, and out of three that ain't bad. So this is my key to analysis and quantification of my perception of these sounds in the recordings. Perceptual salience results from the convergence of twoformant frequencies, yielding spectral peaks (Fant 1960) (fig. 2). 1.
