David Paulides' latest: American Sasquatch movie
NorCalWitness replied to TD-40's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
You vociferously defended him, so I just assumed he was your guy. Paulides is charging 19 bucks on amazon to watch his documentary. As I previously stated, I think he is all about the money. The price of the movie further enforces my view. In terms of the content, I can't comment because I will be waiting a while to see it. -

Maryland 1975 - Bigfoot v. Triumph TR4, Who Wins?
Trogluddite posted a topic in More Historical Newspaper Archives
I very much doubt that Maryland has more Bigfoots than northern California, Washington, and British Columbia (combined), but what Maryland did have in the 1970s was an active group of investigators and at least one paper that was not afraid to publish Bigfoot stories. This one is from the The Bel Air (MD) Aegis on May 01, 1975. -
norseman started following David Paulides' latest: American Sasquatch movie and From myth to reality.

They never used fire, stole children in the night and ate humans. They had big feet as well. All myth. Until it wasn’t. And the surprise at the end. Villagers caught one recently. Are they still out there? And does the hobbit lend credibility to other hominid myths?

David Paulides' latest: American Sasquatch movie
norseman replied to TD-40's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
David Paulides isn’t “my guy”. But unlike you I find value in the 411 books. I would not have any of those cases on my radar without those books. I am a UFO witness on numerous occasions. I absolutely know for a fact they are real. All lights in the sky doing maneuvers that falling stars do not do. And one silver metallic tube with no flight surfaces and no noise. No little green men or anything like that. Just UFOs. The Bigfoot tracks I saw as a boy with my father were in deep snow. And I have never experienced anything that would connect the two phenomena together. Why would a Bigfoot trudge through deep snow if it can levitate or walk through a portal to travel? Makes absolutely no sense to me. And I can only speak to my own experiences. Now how about you? Now that David has teamed up with Ron and is talking about supernatural Sasquatch does that vindicate him in your eyes? -

I am looking forward to what @norseman has to say on this. He is pretty bought in on Missing 411, but now his guy is opening the door to the paranormal. -
This triggered a thought. We have had some discussion about "local circuits" ... not annual migration, but places where the bigfoots might cycle through an area, always moving, but coming past the same spots once a week, or every other week, etc so there is no daily concentration of activity but over a fairly short period of time, there are repetitions. This could considerably complicate understanding the report data in a particular location.
-
But what is a realistic definition of "the area where they are?" From some old research of mine, which I may update, the home territory for black bears ranges from 1-15 square miles (females) to 8-60 square miles (males). For grizzlies, its 50-300 square miles (females) up to 1,500 square miles (males).* Where would Bigfoot, as a species, slot in to that? Also, what would the regional variations be? Certainly in the PNW, one should expect more compact and stable home ranges. In the northeast US, one of the most "crowded" sighting areas is the corridor around Whitehall, New York.** I don't believe that all of those Bigfoot encounters are the result of Bigfoots that have a home range there. * No citations, I need to update this rudimentary effort. ** This is circa 2018 research.

1968/04/01 - Magazine Article - Patterson's Polygraph Examination
Trogluddite posted a topic in Patterson-Gimlin Film Reference Materials
National Wildlife Magazine published a second article on Bigfoot in it's 1970 October/November issue. While the attached article and clippings do not come straight from the National Wildlife archives, I'm confident that it is the actual article from 1970. Polygraph examinations do not prove that someone is lying or telling the truth; this is why they are inadmissible as evidence. If done incorrectly, they can put innocent people through hell - a faulty polygraph examination in Germany convinced investigators that a soldier and his wife were responsible for the death of their six-year old daughter; only after much time and effort was it revealed that a faulty question had caused ambiguous results. (During polygraphs, each admitted feeling responsible for their daughter's death because neither had checked to make sure that doors were locked before they went to bed.) If done correctly, they can provide leads for investigators. This polygraph examination was likely done correctly and designed to identify indicia of lying. National Wildlife did not want to stake its reputation on a bogus film shot by a con man, so the polygrapher probably did not include softball questions. In essence, National Wildlife magazine and the polygrapher they hired were hostile parties vis-a-vis Roger Patterson. national_wildlife_article_pdf.pdf -

Forager Encounters Giant Squatting Figure in the Hamma Hamma River | Washington
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
In this episode of Bigfoot Society, Jeremiah Byron talks with Angel, a lifelong outdoorswoman from the Pacific Northwest, who shares multiple stunning encounters that changed the way she sees the woods forever. From strange predation events on a Deer Island, Oregon farm to a jaw-dropping sighting of a massive, dark, human-shaped creature crouched in the Hamma Hamma River in Washington, Angel walks us through the moments that made her question everything she thought she knew about the forest. Her story continues deep in the Willamette National Forest near Sahalie Falls, where she and her husband were forced to shelter in their SUV after a series of chilling, escalating Bigfoot whoops echoed across the ridge—sounds identical to the legendary Sierra Nevada recordings. Angel also opens up about the emotional impact of these encounters, the eerie radio interference she experienced afterward, and a surprising family connection: her father’s own Bigfoot sighting decades earlier in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. If you're looking for real Bigfoot encounters, Sasquatch sightings, and firsthand wilderness experiences from the PNW, this episode delivers one of the most compelling accounts yet. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? Bigfoot bury their dead. I have heard several witness accounts of this, and their funerals are really large events. -
Why are there no bigfoot fossils found in the USA?
Backdoc replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Why can't they find fossils? A needle is always a needle. The size of the haystack helps determine the odds of finding the needle in that haystack. vs... I would guess that more than anything determines finding such fossils. There may also be an expiration date where the bones might degrade at some point after Bigfoot or any animals dies. -
So long as Bigfoot's needs are met, they stay in the area they are. If conditions change, they move to a place with more stable conditions which can deliver on their needs.

Why are there no bigfoot fossils found in the USA?
MIB replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
There's an assumption hiding here .. that they know what they have. My understanding is they are wildly, **wildly** understaffed so far as people trained to properly handle and classify incoming "stuff". There's a backlog of "stuff" on shelves in boxes that will take them decades to get through and by then, an even bigger stack will have accumulated. If you want results, rather than blame the Smithsonian, consider lobbying for additional funding for trained staff.
