	Hi All,
</p>

<p>
	     I was about to buy a copy of Meet the Sasquatch by Christopher L Murphy after seeing it in a documentary. I saw that there is a sequel book entitled Know the Sasquatch which claims to be an sequel/updated version of the original. Does anybody know if all the material/images from the first edition is also included in the new one, or is it closer to a sequel?
</p>

<p>
	     Thanks in advance for any advice

	Hello All: Attached is a note I made of the last Beachfoot conference.  It was first published by Daniel Perez in <em>The Bigfoot Times</em> where he extensively covered the meet.  While this is a brief, I'll happily reply to questions or comments.

	Max Brooks (the author of World War Z) is clearly a bigfoot enthusiast who has seen many of the movies/television shows we have.   He has written a fictional account of a bigfoot "raid" that is a lot of fun reading.   I felt he kept things believable and referenced sights/encounters that are easy recognized to followers of bigfoot lore.   I gave it a 5 star rating and think others may enjoy it as well.

	Extensively referenced to local articles, this really delves into the sighting and the involvement (or not) of one Raymond Wallace and assorted others. Some really interesting points unearthed that have far reaching significance.

	Short version: DON'T!
</p>

<p>
	Long version: A waste of money. Nothing but a rehash of the authors previous works and lifted articles from the BFRO website and a heap of unfounded speculation on missing persons. I couldn't get over how (frankly) worthless this book is as there literally is nothing new or what hasnt been presented before (sometimes literally word for word).
</p>

<p>
	As for the missing people, he relates their case and says basically, "Hey, was he taken by a Bigfoot? I don't know but maybe! After all, he was in the woods!"
</p>

<p>
	And of course, he includes pictures of the front pages of that tabloid rag The Weekly World News for good measure.
</p>

<p>
	Avoid this book.

	To better understand the claims made about unknown nocturnal lights (or orbs) seen in Marfa TX and in the Brown Mountains NC, I selected to read the following 3 books.<span>  </span>I was curious about the claims made in these locations because I have seen orbs in CA, UT, and AZ and wanted to check if the phenomena claimed was like what I saw.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<u>Mysteries of the Marfa Lights Revealed</u>, by Robert Wagers and Judy Wagers, 2012
</p>

<p>
	<u>In Defense of the Marfa Lights</u>, by James Bunnell, 2021
</p>

<p>
	<u>The Brown Mountain Lights</u>, by Wade Edward Speer, 2017
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Wagers book is excellent and provides good science background for those who want to study far away (over 1 mile) lights.<span>  </span>The Wagers concluded (based on the cases examined) that all mystery lights were explained by automobile headlights and in some cases, they were mirages caused by light refraction due to temperature inversions in the valley.<span>  </span>Robert Wagers has a PHD in electrical engineering from Stanford and it shows in the detail analysis and assessment made for each of the cases.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	One of the many good tidbits of information that Wagers shared is that:
</p>

<p>
	<i>“A person with excellent vision might only be able to resolve two objects, in the daylight, that are 1.2 minutes of arc separated from one another.<span>  </span>It gets worse at night.<span>  </span>In the dark, when the pupils of a person’s eyes open wide to collect more light, visual resolutions is reduced by nearly a factor of three from daytime visual acuity.<span>  </span>Under the condition of fully open pupils, car lights that are 4.5 feet apart cannot be distinguished from a single light at distances greater than about one mile”.<span>  </span></i>
</p>

<p>
	This is a compelling argument against paying attention to any lights seen over a mile away in forested areas with lots of dirt roads.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	James Bunnell (a retired aerospace engineer) spent a decade researching the Marfa area in search for the rare lights.<span>  </span>He set up multiple camera platforms in private ranches in the area in addition to the public Marfa viewing location.<span>  </span>While he agrees with the Wagers that most of the lights seen by the public are caused by automobile headlights, he dissents that there are no mystery lights.<span>  </span>He claims that the true Marfa Lights are very rare and do not follow the path of roads.<span>  </span>During his 10 years of research, he only captured 38 instances of anomalous lights.<span>  </span>His last book was all about defending the few photographs that he claims captured the true Marfa Lights.<span>  </span>The photographs are indeed odd looking and seem to be above the land surface.<span>  </span>Nonetheless, Wagers made a good case for the frequency of light refraction in that valley and appearances could be deceiving.<span>  </span>Moreover, the lights that Bunnell captured in photographs are also far from the viewer (7 to 13 miles).
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Wade Edward Speer is a geologist and led a multi-disciplinary scientific team on a 3-year study (2012-2014) of the Brown Mountain nocturnal lights claims.<span>  </span>He concludes that 98% of the lights seen are misinterpretations of man-made lights (vehicles, airplanes city/town lights, flashlights/headlights, campfires, gas lanterns, etc.), 1% due to natural lights (celestial lights, forest fires, blue ghost fireflies, moonlight reflections, etc.), while the remaining 1% are unclassified due to lack of sufficient information.  Part of the research done by Speer’s team was to conduct staged light tests whereas members of the team visited different parts of the Brown Mountains (by hiking at night on dirt roads, ATV trails, and hiking trails) and recorded their light fingerprints from the far away viewing platforms.<span>  </span>These tests provided good evidence of how mysterious ATV lights and headlamps could look from the popular viewing platforms (Highway 181 overlook and Wiseman’s View).<span>  </span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Speer also wrote a good chapter about the pseudoscientific explanations popularly used to explain earthlights. He rejected as pseudo-science the tectonic strain hypothesis that claims that earthquake faults, tectonic strains and piezoelectric effect are causing earth lights in that area.<span>  </span>As a geologist, he did conduct the due diligence in looking for faults, earthquake evidence, and researching the geology before discounting that hypothesis as bunk.<span>  </span>That chapter was worth the price of the book.<span>  </span>Overall, an excellent read for those interested in the Brown Mountain lights history and science.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Despite the conclusions from Speer, there are a few photographs on the internet of some odd looking lights captured over the Brown Mountains that are still considered mysterious (see YouTube link below with photo and videos from Charles Braswell).<span>  </span>Nonetheless, all these photos are of nocturnal lights that are over a mile from the observer.<span>  </span>The Braswell photos and video were captured in Oct. 2001, and he published a book in 2015.<span>  </span>Thus, Speer was fully aware of the photo and the claims made when he wrote and published his book in 2017.<span>  </span>Speer was probably not impressed.<span>  </span>While Speer did not analyze Braswell’s video or photo in his book, he probably dismissed it at either a low flying plane or helicopter.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq6_Fxv_8RY" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zq6_Fxv_8RY</a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	After reading these books I concluded that whatever is observed in Marfa and Brown Mountains (probably mostly man made lights) is different to what I and others have seen in the High Sierras in CA. Most of the lights seen in Marfa and Brown Mountains are far away from the observer and hard to determine origin by causal and uninformed observers (if they are automobile headlights, ATV headlights, night hikers or campers, etc. that are miles away). What interest me are the nocturnal lights or orbs that are seen close to the observer (30 ft to 1,000 ft) within the forest canopy in wilderness areas that have no roads nearby.<span>  </span>

	<span style="font-size:12pt;">This book was a disappointment and a waste of time and money.<span>  </span>I was expecting useful information and new insights from somebody who claims to have been a subject matter expert on data analytics for the Office of Secretary of Defense.<span>  </span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;"> </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;">The book is about Denver’s opinions and observations of the people who participated on a couple of BFRO expeditions back in 2004 (one to the Olympic National Forest in WA and one to the Monongahela NF in WV).<span>  </span>He never mentions BFRO (probably to prevent libel suits), but you can deduce that from the hints he provided on how those expeditions were organized and led.<span>  </span>He also covers his experiences on a private expedition to the Adirondacks in 2006 with Don Barone (ESPN writer), his friend Spinner (retired State Trooper), and others.<span>  </span></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;">Both Denver Riggleman and Don Barone were past members of BFF and their posts on their Adirondacks expedition are found in the BFF 1.0 Archives (see link below).</span>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;">Most of the book is spent mocking BF enthusiasts who go to these expeditions and their leaders.<span>  </span>Riggleman, Spinner, and Barone are skeptics and that is the proper way to approach these expeditions and the claims made by participants.<span>  </span>Nonetheless, they are so cynical (probably based on their past interactions with humans) that every witness or BFRO participant/leader must be in for the money, psychological needs, or is a loser who can’t distinguish signal from noise.<span>  </span>Only he and his buddy Spinner, are the only observers that can be trusted. <span> </span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;"> </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;">Denver is probably right, that in both of those expeditions nothing BF happened, and folks were embellishing or being irrationally exuberant about noises heard or shadows seen.<span>  </span>Nonetheless, I find it hard to believe that the author can draw conclusions on the merits of these organized expeditions and write a whole book based just on his bad experiences on those 2 expeditions.<span>  </span><span> </span>I also agree with Denver in that most of these BF expeditions are more about social gatherings than serious BF research to collect evidence.<span>  However, not all expeditions are the same and their quality depends on the expedition's leaders and their approach (all are different).</span></span>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;"> </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;">I agree with him that there are plenty of loonies, true believers, and gullible people in the BF community and some of these people go on expeditions.<span>  </span>Nonetheless, the value of an analyst is to discern a signal among the noise and to focus on those signals instead of writing a whole book about the noise.<span>  </span><span> </span>Also, there are honest, diligent, and hardworking researchers in BFRO and other BF research organizations that are not cynically pursuing this research for the money, fame, or psychological needs.<span>  </span>These are citizen scientists who are curious and have a long term hobby.<span>  </span>These folks do not exist in this book except for the author who is the only guy with analytical skills.<span>  </span></span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;"> </span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;">Obviously, he never had a close daylight sighting with these unknown creatures, otherwise he would be more respectful/tolerant of eyewitness testimony.<span>  </span>He (when he was 10-years old) and his grandfather had an encounter with some unknown animal that made loud noises while approaching them in WV, but they never saw it and thus can’t truly say it was a BF.<span>  </span>That early encounter is what led him to participate in a BFRO expedition and look for evidence.</span>
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;"> </span>

	Stalked! - My Encounter with a Colorado Bigfoot, Brad Morris
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I picked up this book over the summer due to my interest in Colorado BF. It is a short read, only 123 pages. The book details a 1986 solo hiking trip the author makes into the San Juan mountains in SW Colorado and his encounter with a Bigfoot there. Morris rides the train from Durango up to Needleton, and then hikes up to the Chicago Basin from there. While camping in the Basin, he sees a Bigfoot near his campsite. While the Bigfoot does not bother him, Morris is a bit un-nerved by the sighting and it impacts the rest of his stay. He ends up in a dangerous situation and a very unlikely ending occurs. No spoilers here...  <img alt=";)" data-emoticon="true" height="20" loading="lazy" src="https://bigfootforums.com/uploads/emoticons/default_wink.png" srcset="https://bigfootforums.com/uploads/emoticons/wink@2x.png 2x" title=";)" width="20">
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Overall, a pretty good book. The BF encounter(s) is really only a small portion of the book. A lot of it deals with the adventures and dangers of solo hiking. I would recommend it, especially if you like stories of outdoor adventure. All in all, I would give it 4.5 stars.

	Beasts Between The Rivers, Martin Groves
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This is the true account of a couple of men who encounter a group of Dogmen in the Land Between The Lake recreation area in Kentucky. A short book, only 68 pages long, it makes up for its brevity with a fascinating story. Martin and his friend, Harry, were both law enforcement officers. They embarked on a spring hunting trip in the 1990's for turkey. What happened that during this trip would change their lives forever. They found a remote place to camp and set up their tent there, ate, and went to bed that night. The next day they got up headed out to hunt, each man going a different direction. As Martin is traveling to his hunting spot, he runs into a bow hunter and makes a new friend. Martin continues on to his spot and hunted the rest of the day. As he is walking back to his camp, everything turns still and quiet. He then hears a metallic clang off in the woods. Then a shrill whistle. Then something is pacing him off to his side on the ridgeline. Eventually, Martin see what he believes is another hunter hiding behind a tree. Martin waves and the "hunter" disappears into the woods. Martin again hears the metallic noise. Now dark, Martin makes it back to camp where Harry is waiting for him and has a fire going. At this point Martin and Harry encounter multiple creatures and barely escape. Not exactly giving anything away here since he survived to write the book. The rest of the book deals with the aftermath of the event.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Excellent story telling with a simple, down home feel, and even though a short book it will keep you on the edge of your seat. As an added bonus, there are color pictures in the book, something one does not usually find in a book this short. I give it 5 stars.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	A must have if you are the least bit interested in Dogmen and/or the LBL. A word of warning, after reading this, you may never look at the forest the same way again.

	Here is the description from the back of the book:
</p>

<p>
	<span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:107%;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif;">Ignored by mainstream science, the burden of proving the existence of Bigfoot has been thrust upon amateur researchers and citizen scientists. Bigfoot enthusiasts have taken to the woods with little or no training in how to collect, document and preserve the evidence they discover. In Squatch Cop: Investigating and Documenting the Bigfoot Phenomenon, retired police investigator Larry “Beans” Baxter provides a detailed guide for those hoping to find and collect evidence of Bigfoot and other cryptid phenomenon. Drawing on his years working in law enforcement in Alaska, the author details the best methods and practices for documenting and collecting evidence. Included are chapters on how to photograph, collect and store physical evidence, collecting DNA evidence as well as interviewing witnesses and report writing. This book is an important addition to the library of any serious enthusiast who wants to spend time in the field searching for the elusive Bigfoot. </span></p><p></p>

<p>
	Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science<br />
	Written By: Dr Jeffrey Meldrum of Idaho State University where he is a professor of both Anatomy and Anthropology, and an expert on foot morphology and evolutionary bipedalism.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In his book, which is a companion piece to the documentary of the same name, Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum beautifully lays out the extensive amount of research, studies, encounters, and physical evidence (foot prints, PG film), and more that has been amassed by many people over centuries, worldwide in this (in my opinion) groundbreaking book!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The purpose, and importance of this book to me is the fact that Dr. Meldrum isn’t trying to CONVINCE you to believe in Sasquatch, but he is simply presenting the case, from a scientific aspect of why the subject of Bigfoot/Sasquatch needs to be taken seriously by the scientific community, and properly studied and researched no differently than we do any other primate or hominid species (whether discovered OR undiscovered). The footprint evidence is Dr. Meldrum’s main arguement in terms of best evidence currently available, as from studying the morphology of the prints, specifically in regards to the midtarsal break (show movement with hand) can reveal a great deal about the hominid that left the print/prints.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Early on in the book, he touches upon the “established formula” of research methods for zoologists, biologists, anthropologists etc. discovering new species. That formula is basically an ears to the ground approach. Typically starting with murmurings, or rumours being discussed amongst a group of people about a creature or animal that doesn’t seem to match anything known to the scientific world. Dr. Meldrum then explains the importance of listening to, and learning from the local indigenous communities, in order to gain knowledge and understanding of the local surroundings, wildlife, terrain and culture, before embarking on HANDS ON research.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	If this is how so many species have come to be discovered and consequently documented and classified, why are we NOT doing this in respect to the Sasquatch, where we have an absolute abundance of cultural knowledge, physical evidence, thousands of eye witness accounts over centuries that can be linked by ‘trademark’ physical or behavioural tendencies. The book explains that, “During the past century, over two hundred additional species of primate have been discovered. In the Neotropics alone, twenty-four new species have been described since 1990, and at least ten more await formal description”. This right here helps debunk those that claim such a creature would HAVE to have been ‘discovered’ by now, in my opinion!
</p>

<p>
	This book is written and laid out in such a manner that anyone who is interested in the topic (scientifically or not) can read this book and they’ll understand it! Dr. Meldrum includes many photos, charts, diagrams etc along the way to help explain what he is speaking about, which is incredibly helpful! Dr. Meldrum to this day encourages the collaboration of the scientific community, and the Bigfoot community (regardless of educational background). I think this is so commendable and important, because right now, from a strictly scientific aspect, it’s those weekend warriors, and field researchers that are out there putting in SO much time and effort into finding hard, physical evidence that will hopefully lead to definitive proof for the scientists to then work with and establish what a Sasquatch is.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This book in my opinion is the perfect introduction into the whole subject matter of Sasquatch/Bigfoot, and an excellent reference to frequently return to for those already well into studying or researching this subject! I would consider it a “Bible of Bigfoot,” and should be a part of any Bigfoot enthusiasts library! <br />

</p>

<p>
	So does Sasquatch exist?! As the back cover states, “Consider the evidence, and decide for yourself!”
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

<p>
	I recently read the two books available under this title:  volume 1 on Folklore and volume 2 on Evidence.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The books compare the narratives of mythologies (faeries, witches, green man, etc.) and of high strange phenomena (aliens, UFOs, ghosts, etc.) to the narratives obtained from high strangeness bigfoot encounters.  The authors find some common symbols and components between the narratives and suggest that the bigfoot phenomenon might be just part of a larger hidden unknown phenomena and might not be a distinct and unique mystery. At the end of the 2nd volume, they say that they don’t know what bigfoot is.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The authors are collectors of narratives and not field researchers, so they approach their analysis from the point of view of comparative folklore and not science.

	After reading both volumes, I felt that I got no new insights.  Most of the high strangeness BF reports presented have been published before or discussed in websites or podcasts.  Moreover, these high strangeness BF reports are not evidence but stories and many of them have not been fully vetted or investigated.  Moreover, nobody really knows the % of high strangeness cases within all the BF cases because BFRO tends to exclude them and people tend not to report them. My guess is that they represent a small percent of the total number of BF encounter reports (but not zero).  Another problem with these high strangeness reports is the classification issue (are people truly encountering a BF or is it some other unknown or mystery that is attributed to BF).   The lengthy narratives presented from folklore and European mythologies did not add any clarity to the BF mystery.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Thus, given all these comparative analysis between BF narratives and folklore, what did I learn that I can apply to field researcher and do things differently?  Nothing really.  These volumes are more for armchair researchers who want to intellectually analyze the BF mystery from a broader literary perspective and place the mystery within a larger unknown and unknowable paradigm (like Jacques Vallee and John Keel did with Ufology).   But they don’t provide any clues, suggestions, or guidance for those who are trying to investigate the mystery (regardless of how strange it is) within the bounds of our current scientific knowledge and practices.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	If other BFF members read these books and got some insights that I missed and that should be shared with the field research community, please let me know.

<p>
	OK, not really a trilogy in fact, but three books by Bart that all relate to the same subject matter....
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	1. <strong><em>Mysterious Kentucky, Vol 1: The History, Mystery and Unexplained of the Bluegrass State</em></strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Published in 2007, with two updates, this short book (less than 250 pages) provides a very interesting overview of weird creatures in Kentucky. Starting out with gigantic skeletons found, moving across the spectrum of water, sky, and land creatures, and finishing with Edgar Cayce, the book jumps into the mysteries of Kentucky with both feet. The biggest section of the book is reserved for Bigfoot and like creatures. There is a lot of information on the author's experiences during his childhood and as an adult. There are several cases provided that comes from the Kentucky Bigfoot site that Bart runs. While there a number of cases presented that I am familiar with, there were a large number that I had not heard before. He did include Jan Thompson's accounts of Dogman and the LBL incident. From UFOs to water monsters to little people to MIB to Bigfoot/Dogmen, this book has it all. Interesting stuff and well worth your time if you like this type of material.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	2. <strong><em>Mysterious Kentucky, Vol 2: The Dark and Bloody Ground</em></strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Published in 2007, with one update, this short book (less than 350 pages) provides more companion material to Volume 1. This is in essence, an expanded version of the first volume. There is some overlap between the two, but this one has more and new accounts of weird stuff in Kentucky. Organized much like Volume 1, this book also delves into some hauntings and paranormal activities as well. Much of what I said for Volume 1 applies to this book as well. Mr. Nunnelly has lived a far more exciting life than I, for which I am very grateful! Another great book if this sort of stuff is your cup of tea.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	3.<strong><em>The Inhumanoids: Real Encounters with Beings that can't Exist!</em></strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Published in 2011, with one update, this book runs almost 450 pages. Bart covers the spectrum and history of upright, bipedal (mostly) beings from Fairies to Giants to the Demonic, from the beginning of time to the present, and from around the world. Much of the material covered is hard to believe being that it is so incredible. Even if you do not find it believable, you will find it captivating reading. Again, there is some overlap with the first two books, but not overly so. The author definitely provides more of his own personal thoughts on the nature of these beings than in Volumes 1 and 2. Of special note, there is a good chapter on MIB and their ilk. All in all, a handy reference guide to weird, upright creatures from around the world. At the end, he pulls it all together and provides an encompassing explanation that you may or may not agree with. Nick Redfern and Linda Godfrey provide the Introductions.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	There is a moderate amount of "woo" in these books, especially in <em>The Inhumanoids,</em> which is to be expected when dealing with this subject matter. One interesting case in Volume 1, which seems to have some similarity with the Maine incident located elsewhere on this site, indicates a car accident involving BF. The single occupant of the car was fatally injured and nearby residents saw that officials were preventing public access to the site, officials burying something beside the road, and washing down the road to clean off the blood. This occurred in Hart County and was described in <em>The Locals</em> by Thom Powell. In Volume 2, Bart relates a story from a witness that pushes the credibility line, at least for me. However, if it were true, it would explain much about BF which is currently a mystery. It deals with a young boy who was sort of "adopted", for lack of a better word, by a clan of  BF and over time came to know their ways. Not sure I buy into it, but it clears up some of the fog surrounding the topic if you do.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Pros:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Very interesting accounts of Kentucky weirdness
</p>

<p>
	Written in a manner that will keep you turning pages.
</p>

<p>
	Locations are provided for most of the accounts
</p>

<p>
	Lots of reports never told before as far as I know
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Cons (mostly minor nits):
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Fair amount of duplicate information across all three books
</p>

<p>
	Some editing errors, but nothing too serious
</p>

<p>
	No references and source material for the most part
</p>

<p>
	No TOC for <em>The Inhumanoids</em>
</p>

<p>
	Pictures and images not in color
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Bottom line:
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	Vols 1 and 2 are a must have if you have any interest at all in crypto creatures of KY. <em>Inhumanoids</em> is a great handbook and reference for a quick history and summary of upright creatures through out the ages. Bart has me convinced that if you go to Henderson County, KY, to look for cyptids, you will most likely find them.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	All three books are <strong>Highly Recommended</strong>!
</p>

<p>
	I recently listened to a Sasquatch Chronicles YouTube summary of the best BF encounter stories from the show published back in Jan 24, 2019, titled “<strong><em>SC EP:493 Best of Sasquatch Chronicles II</em></strong>”.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In one of the stories selected by Wes Germer, he interviews a man who tells an incredible story about a BF attacking him and his cousin while bass fishing in an Ohio lake in October 2017.
</p>

<p>
	According to the storyteller, his cousin got badly hurt (broken ribs, collapsed lung, and large cut on his chin), needed medical attention, and went to the hospital.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I was intrigued by this case since there should have been plenty of evidence:
</p>

<p>
	-ambulance records
</p>

<p>
	-medical records
</p>

<p>
	-photos of injuries
</p>

<p>
	-photos of location where this took place and tracks found
</p>

<p>
	-photos of log thrown at his cousin
</p>

<p>
	-report from LEO on what took place (even if the animal encounter was dismissed as a bear attack)
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The Sasquatch Chronicles episode starts at 50:22 and ends at 1:23:30 on link below.
</p>

<p>
	<a href="https://youtu.be/-AE7F5-VOjE" rel="external nofollow">https://youtu.be/-AE7F5-VOjE</a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In the original Sasquatch Chronicles interview (Episode 413), Wes states that the eyewitness was previously interviewed by Lance Hightower of Cryptid Brothers podcast.
</p>

<p>
	Thus, I listened to the original interviews to check if the story was consistent and whether there was any additional information.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The eyewitness was first interviewed by Cryptid Brothers (Lance Hightower) in <strong>Episode #24</strong> (<strong><em>Ohio Bigfoot Attack and Fed Coverup part I and II</em></strong>) in October 18 and 24, 2017.
</p>

<p>
	These original podcasts are available in YouTube at the two links below.

<p>
	<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPv2Y8MD3B4" rel="external nofollow">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPv2Y8MD3B4</a>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	The Sasquatch Chronicles interview took place in <strong>Episode #413</strong> "<strong><em>Grassman Gone Wild</em></strong>" story in March 11,2018 (about 5 months after the Cryptid Brothers interview).
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	When I listened to the original interview done by Lance Hightower, I found a discrepancy in the story that raised a red flag.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	<strong><u>The Discrepancy in Eyewitness Testimony</u></strong>
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In part II of Cryptid Brothers Episode #24, the witness states that the ambulance got there, and it took his cousin to the hospital and that the first police officer rode in the ambulance with his cousin.
</p>

<p>
	You can listen to this statement at the 1:21:00 to 1:21:33 section of the <strong><em>Part II – Episode 24</em></strong>  YouTube recording.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	In the Sasquatch Chronicles interview (re-posted in YouTube Episode 493) but also in the original full version in Episode #413, the witness states that there was no ambulance, and that he took his cousin to the hospital in his truck.
</p>

<p>
	You can listen to this clip in YouTube <strong><em>Episode #493</em></strong> between 1:18:10 and 1:18:27.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I can forgive the eyewitness for forgetting some details on story, but I find it difficult to believe that he could forget whether an ambulance took his (badly hurt and bleeding) cousin to the hospital or whether he took his cousin to the hospital. I find this contradictory statement to be troublesome and an indication of not telling the truth. If this guy is not telling the truth, then he is a great actor and conman!
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	I wrote to both Lance Hightower and Wes Germer to let them know about this discrepancy on testimony. I got no reply or acknowledgement from them. I suspect that the podcast industry is not interested in finding the truth but in storytelling.
</p>

<p>
	Nonetheless, I had to let them know what I found.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	This case is just an example of how good a conman can be in fooling podcasters and listeners. I am sure that if folks listen to the two podcasts again (with suspicious ears), they might find other red flags.
</p>

<p>

</p>

<p>
	BTW, in the Sasquatch Chronicles summary segment on EP 493, Wes says at the end that all medical records are missing and that the cousin does not want to be interviewed. No surprise there, unless folks believe in MIB, conspiracy theories and bad eyewitness memory.
