Once again you act as if Gimlin is in a vacuum. He'd trade the mediocrity in a minute for what he could get outting himself as a hoaxer? Oh, OK. Judy Gimlin would be totally down for that, right? I mean, apparently she would divorce him even under the auspices of it being real, so she's going to be stoked about Gimlin making a gong show about being a hoaxer, right? That makes perfect sense.

Do you know the specifics of their marital problems at the time? What exactly was it about? The attention? Lack of money coming from it? Did she finally reconcile with the whole bigfoot thing? I figured that you would know these specifics since you're using it as a primary example here. I think after so many decades she might be over it by now.

DeAtley's gonna be just fine, won't mind being outted as a hoaxer involuntarily, Patricia will be cool, won't lawyer up, and Judy Gimlin will be beaming over the hoaxer tell-all paycheques rolling in, no divorces threatened.

Nevermind how these people will feel because that's modern...

Forget Patricia, Judy, and Al; Gimlin's got no reason to adhere to Patty being real if she wasn't, right?

The PGF has already been outed in Long's book, remember? Where's all the backlash and lawsuits from these people?

The PGF is too old for anybody to worry about it anymore. Any revelations nowadays would be met with curiosity and mild interest because most people already think Patterson confessed on his deathbed, and some guy with wooden stompers helped him.

Not to get too far off the Gimlin topic, but when the film was first viewed back in the late 60's, we hear the 'experts' saying "It's a hoax, the subject walked too much like a human."

Now to make such a comparison, wouldn't these debunkers have had to study the gait of a real bipedel ape as well? And by the way, most all these comments regarding that were made after one or two quick viewings, long before computer/digital analysis came along.

IMO most of the "experts" comments early in the films history sound more like kneejerk reactions to the subject matter then analysis..

In the Blog Talk interview a year ago Bob said she was "bitter" because of all the ridicule. He had to go to a friend's store rather than do the interview by phone at home.
