Slab, a couple of thoughts........

 

The poo you took a picture of I would say is a coyote (looked about as big around as your thumb), a 200 lbs Bear's poo is the same size as yours is. So next time.........skip the campground out house and take a pic! ;)

 

The wild berries you observed were probably either black berries or salmon berries (purple or orange).

 

I'd be flattered to go, but I think you need to go for a jet boat ride instead!!! :)

Just thought of this, a sure fire way to tell a dog or cat track from a bear track is to count the toes:

Four for cat and four for a dog, the difference is that the dog/canine front two toes extend out farther than a cat. Cat's also retract their claws normally.

Bears have five toes same as us. And the hind track of a big bear can look squatchy or human in appearance. The thing to remember with a bear is that their big toe is where our pinky toe is and vice versa on the hind foot. So our tracks slant outwards on the toe line and theirs will slant inwards.
