i still believe a bigfoot was on the footage because the casino brought in an independant investigator to look at it. So while it is easy for the casino to say "hey look we filmed bigfoot but we destroyed the tape",the independant investigator's follow up gives the story more credance.

If this is indeed what happened, the tribe deserves nothing but scorn for this cowardly and selfish act against the truth.

I did a site visit there a few years ago on a trip to do some field work with one of my grad students. I was stunned at the lack of forest cover in the land surrounding the casino. It's open rangeland (grassland) with some scattered redcedar, and then a narrow strip of riparian forest (if memory serves) a good quarter mile from the casino itself. As an indication of how open the land was, I flushed a jackrabbit from the field behind the casino.

The presumed inappropriate habitat in the area does not of course mean that a bigfoot couldn't have been there, but it sure doesn't give you a lot of confidence that there's anything to the story other than "story."

Yet the investigator saw what he saw...what evidence do you have that he is not telling the truth about it?

Unless they wanted to deter bigfoot hunters loaded down with NV equipment and assault weapons....................

Many tribes have been shown to have a connection of some sort with BF, if they did indeed have video proof, and destroyed or refused to release it, I personally wouldn't blame them. Protecting a being they may view as sacred in a way is neither selfish nor cowardly.

I abhor the idea of "secret evidence" or "I'm not going to tell you" evidence, they have a duty to the truth to disclose what they know.

I can see keeping some specific details sketchy, but not whole cloth denying access to important evidence or worse destroying it.

They may think that they have a duty to BF to protect it/him/her. You may see it as simply evidence, they may see it as a video of something sacred and very special that needs to be protected.

Was there any serious investigation concerning the Casino's decision (or its allegement)? Any public statement from the Casino? Any tangible evidence? Any involvement of the local authorities?

I remember an audio cast investigation by Alton Higgins concerning this event. He brought along another Bigfoot researcher who seemed incredulous that anyone would think a Bigfoot existed in such open land, undetected. (Speaking to Saskeptic's post).

What if Bigfoot were proven to be a human of some kind, and what if it was discovered that BF were here before NAs crossed the land bridge. Would NAs then lose their first nation status?

I'm just thinking that this could be one reason that they would hide or destroy evidence.

I'll go with LAL on this and just plain business, which does not include BFrs pestering the guests with questions and camping in the parking lot. Gotta keep the focus on the gambling.

I am old enough to remember when a tribe here was selling cows and a few horses on the "black" market. Cause according to the "rules" they were allowed only "sustenance" farming and hunting. No profit allowed on the Rez.

I actually kinda admire the "loop hole" of gaming. It wasn't specifically excluded in the treaties. Like almost everything else was.

So if the elders there didn't want to make their money on the "spirit of the mountain" then I guess I am glad they didn't feel like they had to.
