^^^Detected?  It was.  Confirmed by science is all it wasn't.

No proof of that, only a couple of reports. "Detected" by no one other than those making the claims. Let's not skew the facts.

No one's skewing anything.  Except that word 'detected,' which is meaningless.

Fifty to a hundred people could have 'detected' this animal.  Let's say 100, for an animal traveling at night.

60:  person, no big

25:  kind of odd person; they think about 'him' a lot but don't really chalk it up to anything but ...you know, just odd...

10:  really odd person, but didn't see anything in the news or hear anything else, so..."must have been me just paranoid/night creeps/gotta check these glasses/etc."

5:  that was a bigfoot.  As you said, 'a couple' reported it.  One or two of the remaining three might turn up on databases in the next 10 to 25 years, par for the course if one reads the lag time in reports.

Totally, rock-solid reasonable numbers.

No problem with any of that but it's speculation on your part and nothing more, no matter how you present it. There are no facts to support what "could have" happened.

Maybe not.  But going from incredulity to "not detected," and not believing anyone who relates an experience because it would have to have been 'detected' by now...tends to dry up the stories to "only a couple" and dismissable.

Speculation is all we have at the moment.  But it wouldn't be the first time intelligent speculation has led to proof.

Of course there are no "facts."  See, that would be PROOF.

I fully understand your hope and desire that the incidents detailed in these two reports are true.

I never do hope and desire.  I only do evidence.  Wish more did.

There's nowt wrong with having subjective hopes and desires which arise from an objective assessment of evidence in the round. This site was so much more than just two reports...there is a long backstory and purported physical evidence ie handprints which has not to my knowledge been countered. Hopes an desires are part of the experience!

That's an unlikely spot for something reportedly that big to remain relatively undetected-even for a brief period of time.

Perhaps this is why one would investigate a place like that. Either they aren't there or it would be like catching fish in a barrel. Maybe that is why there is such evidence from the area, It would reasonably be concentrated. The casino video plus photo's, the tracks, wildlife biologist's sighting, hair samples, handprints cut out of the roof of a car says something was going on there. I'd say that witness had to be certain what they saw to allow the car to be cut on.

Exactly. It is the very incongruity of the encounters that makes the situation so intriguing. In such an unlikely location is it any wonder there was such a fuss? The short-lived nature of the encounters adds to the mystique.

Roger Roberts did have some tested in association with a Finding Bigfoot episode. The DNA lab, DNA Solutions, out of Oklahoma City did not get a readable sequence from them apparently, too fragmented. I collected some myself from some limb breaks in the area which tested human according to the Ketchum study, though my observations of the scene of the collection had me thinking it was more likely from an animal that lives in the wild or atleast a domesticated animal living outdoors. More here...............

Very interesting SY. Are any of those hairs ones submitted to the Sykes study?

Well, Stan, had to plus ya and maybe revise my last post a bit:

Hopes don't play into it with me unless the evidence is persuasive.  There, how's that?

I am one of those folks who says (as many scientists poohpooing this topic do) that the world is wonderful enough as it is.  It certainly is.  But the thing that keeps my excitement up when I'm in remote woods by myself, the thing that keeps me scanning any roads I'm on where things are starting to get quiet and the people evidence sparse, and the thing that turned me when I saw tracks of a biped that simply couldn't have been human from all of that thing I had right in front of me...is evidence.

There is a suite of compelling evidence here, for anyone who knows what that is and how to think about it.  Which, in an age in which too many have learned to trust 'experts' and not think for themselves about things, too few do.

I'm patient with them.  I mean, I have to be; I'm having more fun than they are.  Evidence is like that.

I really should have said this:

  • We have video of bears deer and bobcats walking into grocery stores.
  • ...and ma pumas with cubs walking up to people's decks.  In broad daylight.
  • There are small towns in AK where grizzlies make free with the garbage dumps.
  • In Canada, wolves, and grizzlies no doubt, ditto.
  • Bighorn sheep are as skittish as animals come.  I've seen a band rushing to get past me and away...and they were already a quarter-mile away...
  • ...but I've also watched a herd of rams cross the headwall of a glacier and placidly graze up to thirty yards or less from me.
  • ...and other people in remote places have been approached by sheep that acted more like friendly and curious dogs.
  • ...and I could go on until my computer died.  Of old age.

Animals are dishing up exceptions-to-the-rule all the freaking time.

Why wouldn't this one?

No reason.
