Those are 100% rainbows. You're really making me miss living out that way with all the pics. The area you're in looks identical to our favorite spot near Woodland Park, CO.

Norseman, pdub, and Kiwakwe - awesome pictures! Such pretty - and different - area! I love looking at everyone's photos. I think that's the best part of the BFF, after actually Bigfoot discussions and support. I wish I had more thumbs up to give, but I've already ran out today.

MIB, I agree with you.

Well there was a Bigfoot meeting in West Branch ,Michigan so my son and myself went up there to listen. I picked him up right after school and to off from Detroit  to Northern Michigan. It took a while to get up there since we ran into a lot of traffic  So when we finally made there it was Dark. So we drove up to Mio and went out to Foley Swamp where I had my first couple of sightings and set up our tent. It was raining when we arrived just like the first time back in 2000 when I had my very first sighting and the woods were very silent. We were the only ones camping out there and that made it great. My son enjoyed that as well as I did. We set up camp and the rained stopped and started our fire. We both sat around the fire as I drank my beer which was one M-43 beer and IPA beer which has an abv 6.8% which is brewed in Michigan.

Our night was un eventfull even though  we were hearing movement around us. We just blew it off as deer and thought nothing of it . We also heard the owls going off and that was cool to hear.  every so often the woods would go silent but we were ok with that. Here are the few pictures I took. I am not a big picture dude unless it is related with these creatures.

Here is where we heard the movement :

Now this is early in the morning and it looked spectacular:

Here is the swamp :

Real picture perfect is it not and here is the a creek where it looks very squachy:

Very spooky and looks like where Black bears might be. Here is when I wish small game was going on. We spotted this Grouse just staying motionless. Can you spot it.

Here is a valley that I would like to hunt:

Off course you have to place a picture of the road:

I spent the weekend up 37 in the Manistee National Forest.  There were 4 of us on motorcycles so we only carry what saddlebags and tourpack(s) will handle.  Not much of a camera guy myself so I have 0 pics.  No talk or mention of sasquatch unless a joke being made at my expense lol.   We were just out to sit around a fire in the woods and hang out.  A close by owl kept us up as well as coons.   In the morning we had a PIleated land in a tree above us and toss an empty squirrel nest out of the tree and pick thru it.  Good time had by all.

Hey Twist well that sounds great. Told my son that we wish that small game hunting was on in Michigan cause there a lot of squirrels around us. They would been launch and dinner on a nice fire. Even that grouse would have been cooked. When we hit the sack we were knocked out and nothing would of waked us up. All I can say is that it was pitch black in those woods and yes I had my 45 on me for just in case of some crazy human. I have no worry of putting one of those down.  I plan on camping out in wolf creek some time soon . That should be a great place to camp. I am looking forward to that.

Do not have a hog yet  but maybe one day I will. My cuz was a leader of one of the best clubs in Detroit until he passed away and about to become an honorary .Do not want to mention club names since I do not think that it is right to do so. All I can say is that they were the ones who started the federation in the US. His funeral was a 5 mile long concession of nothing but hogs followed by nothing with another mile long of family and a police escort. It was real special. ever since then I have always respected motorcycles on the road.

He always had the greatest babes that I had ever seen in my life and he had saved my but once and have never been able to pay him back. But as a little kid he had made me into one tough dude today. No Fear bro.

Spent two days on the black river catching Apache trout. Apache Sitgreaves NF. Bighorn came off ridge and grazed right through camp this morn.

Currently in Alpine Az, staying at RV park, getting showers and ice and catching up on emails and texts.

Update on Smittybuilt RTT. I love the ease and simplicity of taking it down and putting it up. Stayed dry in pouring rain and hail. Don’t worry about lumpy ground or tree roots like with traditional tents.  My only complaint is the platform is made out of some white material that bows a bit. We tried to keep sleeping bags in tent when it folded up. The hinge didn’t like that. And will try to pop out of its track. Would prefer if the deck was more rigid and deeper so the bedding could stay in the tent, dry and ready for bed time. It’s well worth 1200 bucks I think. A cabelas alaknak costs similar. And is just fabric and a pole set.It also doesn’t come with a rain fly and you would get wet in bad weather.

My son likes the light bar and charging station that came with it. Hang a IPad off the ridge pole and we are watching westerns when the sun goes down and charging phones.

Harley’s, no deep woods for these trips,  we stay at pay sites.   We do 2 annual trips a year like this.   The rest of my camping is done with my 4x4 in open lands.

ShadowBorn, that looks a lot like one of the areas I frequented in the North Maine Woods, seems to me to be fine habitat.

Daveedoe, One of my favorite sighting reports is from a fishing boat in AK, 2 man crew saw an interaction between grizzly and a Sasquatch on the beach of a small cove where they had anchored. The griz apparently heard or smelled the sasquatch approach and took off running.

  • 2 weeks later...

I've done 2 field trips in the last week.

The first was to an area in the mountains NE of Mission, B.C., last Sunday afternoon, Sep.15th. It had rained heavily for the previous few days, and into that morning, but by noon it let up, so I took the opportunity to head out to look for possible tracks in the wet areas near the numerous old logging roads. There are sightings reported over many years in the vicinity, including one that our group investigated 2 years ago. We found the witnesses reported location, and found a game trail crossing the road, along with 1 large print in the soft shoulder of the road, but definition was poor due to rain between the sighting and our trip to the site. On my solo trip this time, I found no sign of any sort, but had a nice outing in the forested valley.

You always have some great places that you travel too.  Those are some great pictures that you take.  I wish we had mountains here in Michigan. Some of you people are lucky to be able to live  in some of he most beautiful places on earth. I am not saying that there are not some great places here in Michigan.  It is just that I have not found them yet. I think that this is what is great about looking for this creature. We get to see some of the greatest places on earth.
