Saw one smallish one. Huckleberries and salmon berries are ripe! Cool only 55 degrees.

My hunting itch sort of went away when I moved West and didn't have the camraderie of hunting with family around Thanksgiving.

The show MeatEater has rekindled my desire to get out and hunt...and I can't believe I lived in CO and never did the elk hunt that I've always said was on my bucket list.

Anyways...beautiful country. Also, assuming black bear? Do you eat them?

Made it safely back to town with no sightings but possible evidence of activity.  Found a great spot and the new tent worked out great...

My girlfriend said she thought she heard a wood knock at night, but we had the stereo on and I maybe heard something.  We were camped next to a large patch of thimbleberry bushes and about 20 yards up the creek, I stumbled across a couple of small trees with the tops obviously twisted at a height of about 8' off the ground.

They sure looked like similar trees that people claim are twisted by Bigfoot in order to mark territory.  No trail nearby and their only significance was on the edge of the thimbleberry patch.

My son bought a couple of dirt bikes on the coast. We went over on hwy 20 and came back hwy 2.

I showed my son his great grandmother and grandfathers house in Gold bar. And then Index where my great grandmother’s father was the first mayor.

He was impressed with the mountains. Not so much the humidity.

Going back to your roots is very centering and something good to pass onto your kids. The town of Gold Bar has a very interesting history.

I am at the Oregon coast and went outside at 2 AM to watch the meteor display.      Only saw one during  a half hour of time and it was pretty cold.     Then I heard several strange noises.   They were very short and near the infrasound range at the bottom end of my hearing.     Have no idea what it was.     Sounded like someone dropped some big plastic pipes one at a time and made a bass drum noise.   I could not see very far and decided that I really did not want to be alone outside with strange noises going on.        Tillamook Head,  just South of me,  has had a history of Bigfoot vocalizations,  and a few years ago heard one myself when I took my dog out.   I have looked for footprints in the area but never found any.

Target tree campground

Close to Durango, Co. Heading to Pagosa Springs tomorrow to soak in hot spring. Moab UT was 105, ugh! It’s mid 80s here, doable!

I kinda feel at home in the Ponderosas but undergrowth is some weird Oak leaf looking bush.

20 bucks per night, but super fancy USFS campground. Picnic area is elevated with timber and gravel with real steps. Not like home....

Got out to check out a new area this weekend.

It was an interesting outing.  There is a guy wanted by the authorities on child abuse charges who they think is hiding out in the area.  The whole area is crisscrossed by old state and forestry roads which are not longer maintained.  Some still driveable.  Some not.

Nice bag! ;)

Hahaha!

Thanks, man.  Of course, it left a constant sweaty spot on my chest all day.  I pulled my knife off of it since we were going to just be scouting around, but left the Glock 20 in it.

How that powder IPA taste ? is that some strong IPA . The M43 IPA I drink here in Michigan is great stuff and pretty strong. It has a great taste to it where you do taste the hops. I jut love that hoppy flavor.  I love those IPA's that just go down nice and smooth when they are cold on nice hot days .Even on cold days near a fire these beers taste great. I am going to have look out for this IPA if it ever shows up here in Michigan. By the way great pictures. Have fun camping . I have been thinking of posting pictures of where I live in the city. You know some thing different other then just woods.

It was OK. But not Elysian Space Dust. One of my favorites! More hop!
