At the same lake, about a mile away - Kinda sad to see a beautiful structure that we found at the beginning of March, is completely destroyed now. Oh, well.

Weather: Dreary and raining initially,  the cleared up into a gorgeous 60° day with sunshine

Location: Reservoir in the Oregon Cascades

What Happened: I went scouting a local reservoir because I couldn't be inside any longer. I began exploring roads following creeks up into the hills, because it was still raining. After driving up one creek about 5 miles, it looked like prime habitat to explore further, I turned around and headed back downhill. When the creek widened up before it entered the lake, i spotted a teepee on the far shore. I went down the highway and found the road on the other side. There was a trailhead nearby, but it heads up away from the water a couple of miles, swings back around, and looks like it stays a few hundred feet above the shoreline (from the map). In order to get there, I'd have to bushwack down through the woods - and the blackberries are fierce in spring now.  I might be able to put the kayak in and boat across the inlet to check it out. If it's a hunting blind, it's in a weird place, since there's a hiking trail nearby. Something to look into further,  maybe next weekend.

Interesting.  It looks too small to be used for humans, at least on comparing it to the tree limb hanging down in the background.  I wonder if it's either some sort of trap or maybe just someone around there who likes to construct things for entertainment?

Do you ever feel like a hobbit?  Step out your door and you never know what you'll find? :)

May 17, 2020 - While out scouting some forest roads, I had a bear run across the road about 5 car lengths ahead of me. I tried getting a video, but wasn't successful, you cant see much. It was pretty cool, though! This is the hill it ran up.

I was driving slowly because this was the drop off on the other side.

On May 14th, I got to go target shooting with some friends. That was fun!

Found another scratched up tree (5.17.20).

All in all, it was a nice drive above the Charmed Lake, our main research site.

5.28.20 - Went scouting a forest road with a friend, some 40 or so miles north of the main highway into the Willamette Forest in the Cascades. Drove until the road was so bad that I had to use 4wd, and we weren't sure which road we were on anymore, and if it linked up with the one we were looking for, so we turned back. Found this huge monolith and we aren't sure of the name. Gorgeous! We drove back at 5pm, and dangled our feet in a rushing creek and snacked. Awesome day, but no bigfoot sign as far as i could tell.

The monolith.

Breathtakingly beautiful Madison. Looks like a perfect place to be sasquatching.  You're in prime territory.

I was looking at the topo map. How is the area east and southeast of the Willamette Forest, where you are, in the Three Sisters Wilderness? Particularly the area south of Horse Mountain. It looks remote with access to a lot of water with many small ponds. It looks like an area I'd gladly backpack into.

All of the areas I go to involve ponds and small lakes. The best areas near me involve many small ponds in an area where the forest is dense, mountains are all around, and access to it is not easy.

I don't know about those areas you mentioned. All our locations are within 100 miles of Eugene.

I totally agree about water as integral to good sasquatch habitat.

I think the entire state is excellent habitat. People mostly live in the coast or the I-5 corridor. Everything else is just small communities. There's a whole lot of wilderness here, especially off trail.

Date & Time - 5.31.20 from 11am until 4pm.

Weather - 60°F, sunshine

Location  - Oregon Cascades

What Happened - NorthWind and I scouted a new location, about 10 miles north of the Charmed Lake area. Friends of ours have had dramatic sasquatch encounters in there. It is closed all winter due to snow, falling trees and miserable road conditions. We were excited to be able to explore it during a beautiful spring day. NorthWind saw something big and brown on the shore of the swamp,  but when we were able to get closer via the road, there was nothing to be seen anymore. He also found a very curious twisted branch,  which didn't look like a naturally broken branch.  This will definitely be an area that we will return to for research. We then explored some back roads on the other side of the Charmed Lake.

What we first thought was a figure, but was likely just a stumpsquatch. Very distant...but it was still there some 15 to 20 minutes later. Zoom in, silhouetted on the ridge near the center.

Haha, you posted a "wow, that's a pretty creek" picture and I didn't! FWIW, I LOVE every bit of water - and I stop the truck and jump out to take too many pix, lol!

Also, I didn't realize we were at a Finding Bigfoot location? Is that because of Tobe?
