What's Your Ride?

I personally like the van 4x4 and the VW bus.. Try not to laugh at mine. I love it. I refurbished it myself inside and it's virtually bulletproof. It's not 4x4, but is good for what I do. I don't hunt Bigfoot, but will look this weekend for signs in Baraboo WI at Devils Lake forest preserve when I'm done diving.

I'd never laugh at your ride, especially when Mine eats garbage and farts, but it sure looks like an ambulance. Have a nice time Edited by wild eyed willy

I had a 2002 DR650 until last summer, I usually got around 25 or so MPG... but I also never had the front wheel on the ground. Great bike, I only got stuck in the woods once, took two days to get it out... long story. Basically I took it down a very long steep flight of stairs in what I found out later was a state park. Ended up going down some more crazy steep inclines where motorcycles shouldn't be and broke a spark plug on something and bent my kickstand so the safetey cut off switch wasn't getting pressed. Ended up being stuck between a river and a 200 foot cliff in a rock quarry... hid my bike in the woods and had to come back for it. Ended up fixing it and finally made my own trail through the woods until I found the interstate and carved my way up a very steep incline to get to the road. After that I didn't even look at the thing for a week I was so tired of it haha.

Now that's the right vehicle to run down a 1200lb specimen and haul it to a university! :D

Above sitch reminds me of the "longtabber" situation on 1.0

Digging the 4x4 van, I'd love something like that. I have been considering getting a "class B" RV, since as a 3rd vehicle RV insurance would be wayyyy cheaper than anything else. Looking for an older one. will likely keep it 2WD and put a posi rear axle in it... don't plan "off" roading it, but may likely "rough" road it carefully.

Another idea I like is getting a tiny 4x4 like a Samurai or Niva that can go down ATV trails.

I dig the bike too, I was looking at getting a CT-90 or CT-125 etc, something to get on the easy trails, old rail beds dirt roads etc with. But Mrs Flashman doesn't like the idea of anything that's a motorbike... :(

Anyway, current Sas Pursuit Vehicle, is a station wagon! A small one though, wouldn't get Harry strapped to the roof. Ford Escort wagon, hauls a lot of gear for it's size though, can get a loveseat in the back, or an appliance, big as a lot of midsize SUV/Crossovers... can't get far off the blacktop with it, but then neither may a lot of crossovers. Currently sidelined is a Plymouth Voyager minivan, that I need to replace the fuel pump in, and do a bunch of other bits and pieces. That is fairly capable of "soft road" use, but wouldn't wanna take it too many miles on unmaintained road. Also sidelined is a "canned ham" camper I bought to fix up, but keep having second thoughts about it... Just not too sure what it's like structurally for prolonged pothole thumping... and that's just the highways round here :D and it's just a little too tall to get in the garage to do a full stripdown/remake.

Nah, that's awesome too gail, if you were hunting the big fella you could get some "wildlife ambulance" clings to slap on the side for when you're trying to wrestle a juvie into the back :D

Was? Heard that. When I got engaged I had a 400+ hp Camaro. Then I got a little ext. cab Chevy Z71 so we could move to the mountains and live happily every after...except appartently for her she didn't mean me. So I got rid of two Camaros and a supercharger so we could have a life with no debt except 1 truck and some money. Well after she left I got this beauty...

2006 Vortec Max Crew Cab 4x4

It's just leveled out now with some 285/70/17's but I have some 315/70/17's waiting to go on. Just have to "make room" as it were. This thing has every option imaginable and helped me put her in the past a bit. The Z71 was "our" truck, the Vortec Max is MINE.

Did I mention the 345 hp and 380 ft lbs of torque? It has an AEM intake on it I want to swap out for a Volant. But there are a host of plans for the rig. Though almost a year later I've not done much to it so who knows when anything will get done? Oh, the 4.10's make it peppy but thirsty combined with the 6.0, if you see me on the interstate just go around because I'm going to go 60 and everyone else just has to deal with it, lol.

LOL, does staying at 60 help mileage? The Dart was hopeless.....4-7 mpg regardless of effort....unless you stomp it then it went in to gallons per mile useage :)

SWEET ride you got there......sad thing is something that nice I wouldn't wanna go anywhere it could get dirty!!!
