The date has been set for the 2020 Oklahoma Bigfoot Symposium, it will be held March 7-8, 2020 at CC Camp in Stilwell, Oklahoma.  More details will be forthcoming as we get this site back up to where it was before.

http://www.okbigfootsymposium.com/

This symposium is separate from the Bigfoot Festival held in Honobia, OK each October.

Stilwell is in Adair County, which is in eastern OK and borders on western Arkansas. Sequoyah Co. separates Adair from LeFlore Co.

I've been to Adair Co numerous times. and Stilwell a few times and it's heavily wooded and hilly. The county to the west of Adair is Cherokee Co. which was the location of a sightings report that was recently added to the BFRO Reports 2.0; it's the Lake Tenkiller report added on Jan. 14.

One interesting part of this symposium is they hold night hikes; they're led by researchers and visitors to the symposium can join in if they wish. They set up listening posts so I'm guessing they do vocalizations.

Speakers are:

Jerry Hestand - author - NAWAC

Jim Whitehead - Biologist - MABRC (Mid -America Bigfoot Research Center)

Randy Savig - Audio Specialist - MABRC

Robert Swain - APES (I don't know what this stands for or just who they are)

D.W. Lee - MABRC

Thanks, Gigantor. I don't know what's going on with their website; I've never had any problem accessing their website the last few years. I'm not sure what it means to be completely down and no message with any explanation coming up instead.

One of the few ways to find anything was through Facebook, though it doesn't give all the info. I do kind of like their logo.;) It would look good using any state.

I did come across a website called "The Bigfoot Portal" that had a mention of this years OK Bigfoot Symposium but it only showed the dates and the location and no other info. It did have a page about last years OK Bigfoot Symposium and it showed one of the featured speakers in 2019 was an All Female Research Group called "Sisters of the Moon".

They appear to have their website up and running again. There was mention in the past about trying to improve their website so my guess is that is why it was down for a while.

When you click on the link, there are pictures of some the door prizes attendees could win at the symposium. I wonder what the Bigfoot Soap smells like. ;)

Wasn't my downvote on you, Stardunk. All those negative vibes. Doofus.

But you call names and act about on par, all I did was suggest a common good kind of thing. Way to steer the discussion.

It's too late to cancel the symposium seeing as how it was already held back on March 7 & 8th. At least I have seen nothing to indicate it was cancelled. So far, Oklahoma is relatively unaffected by the virus; only two people in Tulsa have it and both had been to Italy. Gatherings over 250 here are banned and I'm not sure what kind of attendance the symposium gets. This symposium isn't as well known or have the stature as the Bigfoot Festival held each Oct. in Honobia; that one brings in a lot more people.

With fewer attendees, one bright side for the attendees of the Oklahoma Bigfoot Symposium is they have a better chance of winning a door prize. It means a better chance of winning this valued prize:

APES is Arkansas Primate Evidence Society, basically a small group of researchers. Activity in AR is pretty much the same as it is OK, being that they share forested real estate. I had been meaning to go to the Arkansas Bigfoot Conference which was cancelled this year but usually happens in the Spring. This one looks pretty good too. Hopefully, they get to do it next year.

Thanks, Arvedis. Is APES based out of western Arkansas?

No idea. It's probably all of Arkansas. Robert Swain seems to be the point of contact.
