Height exaggeration?

Here is the plot from the SSR for all 2813 Class A sightings.

A bell-shaped curve which is the result you'd expect in nature. It reminds me of Dr. Hennen Fahrenbach's foot-measurement study. The length, foot width, and heel width all produced a bell-shaped curve.

Proportionally, it's pretty incorrect. Why does the 3 ft. difference in  height from 7-10 ft look less than the 2 ft. differences of the rest?

The one problem with "knowing" height from basketball or football players is that most of us only see them around other big guys (or big ladies if you watch the WNBA).  I suspect that if you ran some of them through terrain that only allowed brief, imperfect "sightings" of them, you'd get reports of 8-9 feet tall persons.
