TheN Who is to say BF, isn’t a relic humanoid.  A million years of survival

The argument against this (which I do NOT agree with) is that relic fish are found in the depths of the oceans which is an area extremely difficult to explore so it's not all that surprising that something ancient, like the Coelocanth, could be found. On the other hand, given the size of Bigfoot and that it's supposedly land-based, some folks just can't believe that a relic humanoid would not have already been discovered, captured/killed, and examined. They also point to the lack of a body or skeletal evidence.

I'd think it's certainly a possibility and the lack of fossil evidence doesn't mandate it's non existence, since only a small percentage of species are represented in the fossil record, which one might well think applies to ancient hominids as well. This might be particularly true for a species that secrets it's dead away.

another question is where did it originate? Did it cross the land bridge from Asia at one or more of its uncovering as ocean levels dropped? It may well represent some hominid version of megafauna, with its large size in part a strategy to exist among the predators of that time...perhaps it was the primate intelligence that allowed it to survive when the vast majority of the megafauna species died out, either due to shifting climate/ecosystems or at the hands of the newest monkey in town, we humans.

And that primate intelligence, as it progressed, allowed them to disperse and adapt to the new and varied habitats across the continent. Or maybe doing so is what propelled the development of a higher cognition that enabled them to recognize the threat posed by the more technological western man, and thereby evade them.

Just a thought...
