The neocortex was stimulated and the monkey brains almost doubled in sized after 100 days of gestation. The fetuses were aborted, but no mention of what (if any) effect this had in the musculoskeletal system. How long before some of these are allowed to actually live? Then, how long before they escape the lab? It would open a kettle of worms if a Sasquatch specimen was obtained and it was extremely similar to these Chimeras that they are currently experimenting on... Also, this... It's sensationalized. Test subjects are usually not expected to survive this kind of experimentation. Chimeras and genetic tampering has been a thing for a while. We don't have a firm grip on what consciousness is or where it exactly resides; in the mind or outside of the mind? Suppose our bodies are receivers that allow "S" to experience self awareness, what would use these augmented brains to enter our reality? It's truly frightening, just like AI for the same reasons. We blew up all of those atomic bombs right over one of the world's largest aquafers without a thought about potential long term consequences. We need to evolve a bit more psychologically before we start messing with other life altering technologies IMO. How could we be so stupid and thoughtless as a species is beyond me.
