Mystery sound

My son and I sitting on the porch stumped over this sound. Bout every 30 seconds there is a kinda low growl/grunt. The sounds moves north and south on the ridge or there is more than one.

Bear? Moose? Bigfoot?

Never heard that sound before. It seems too loud for birds or small game.

Ideas? Its still doing it as I type!

1:50. maybe. In our case the call stayed the same.

Close, but the call was a longer duration than the Moose grunt. Albeit it was uniformed like the Moose.

I downloaded it and listened to it a few times . For sure I'll say not small game . Not  fox , bird or any type of canine sound.

It's hard to tell really but I think either a bear or moose . But hey who knows it could be two Bigfoot

I think if I was there I would have tried my famous Bigfoot howl  to see if I would have gotten any response back .

Maybe even some knocking .

When I was a kid, we experienced night hawks a lot. We called them barking bats because of the noise they made with their wings.

I have heard grouse grunt very loudly it sounds like a moose. Maybe it was that 1 bird or maybe they have some hormonal changes for mating.
