  2. 23,000 Before Present (now). "Science" actively discouraged speculation of human activity in N America prior to approximately 13,000 Before Present (Clovis culture). Such speculation led to careers being damaged, and was suppressed. The confirmation that the White Sands fossil footprints at 23,000 BP helped dash the stranglehold of the "None Before Clovis" dogma. Real science freed to pursue discovery of prehistoric N American human activity.

Just wanted to let everyone know that this forum now contains 500 articles concerning events which possibly could have been an encounter with a Bigfoot. For those wondering where they're all at, given that only 16 pages of topics appear (roughly 400 articles), be patient - I've preloaded topics that will show up through March. For those wondering why your computer will say there are 530 some posts, every comment counts as a post. In addition, I'm convinced that the website can't add. Like much Bigfoot research, this is built on the shoulders of those who came before, using information from John Green's database, Scott McClean's prior work, and books by Janet and Colin Bord, Paul and Robert Bartholomew, Timothy Renner, and Christopher L. Murphy as a compass to point the direction to old articles and, increasingly, old books long since out of print. The pace of posting will now slow down noticeably. I plan on adding future posts at a rate of 3 per week, probably on Mondays. I hope that everyone continues to enjoy these.

  21. Published in The Times Standard of Eureka, California, on October 14, 1958. More contemporaneous, and contradictory, statements from Ray Wallace about whether he was the one hoaxing Bigfoot tracks on a Bluff Creek road construction project.
  22. In this episode of Bigfoot Society, a retired U.S. Army combat medic shares a chilling firsthand account of unexplained activity deep in the Missouri Ozarks. After moving to a remote area near Shannon County and the Jacks Fork River, he begins experiencing aggressive dog reactions, terrifying guttural growls, tree snaps, clicking sounds, and the unmistakable feeling of being watched. What makes this encounter different is the evidence. The witness recorded audio and video capturing growls, huffing sounds, rapid movement through the woods, and a late-night shotgun blast from a nearby property as something barreled through the valley. He also describes finding footprints, knuckle prints, twisted trees, and a possible kill site, all within a known Ozarks hotspot for Bigfoot activity. The discussion explores months of escalating encounters, interactions with neighbors, and communications with Missouri conservation and DNR personnel, along with why the witness ultimately left the area. This episode dives into the realities of living in remote wilderness, the dangers of unexplained wildlife encounters, and why the Missouri Ozarks continue to produce some of the most compelling Bigfoot reports in the country. πŸ—£οΈ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 23. Cliff Barackman and Matt Pruitt discuss new developments at the North American Bigfoot Center, foundational sasquatch documentaries like the BBC's "Bigfoot: America's Abominable Snowman" and "Bigfoot: Man or Beast?" The two also discuss how the modern world might look if the discovery of the sasquatch had happened during the mid-20th century. 24. It would be interesting to follow the global spread of yams. Thor Heyerdahl's theories were not universally accepted after his voyage. Polynesian navigators easily crossed back and forth. Genetic and linguistic research reveals that Heyerdahl's theories don't work. The modern version of Heyerdahl's voyage makes for a nice movie ( except for the parrot ). I have not checked on the travels of yams to see if they went east from South America to Africa and Australia. Yams could have traveled west to Australia and islands.
  25. The first Native Americans did not bring Clovis technology with them. We know that there were settlements like Rimrock Draw cave in Oregon that predate Clovis by a good margin. I know a photographer from the dig. As of now they have solid dates to 18500 BP and there is a smattering of deeper material that hasn't been dated yet. The fossilized trackway at White Sands, NM goes back to about 23,000 BP. There are other sites being excavated that may prove older than either. Nothing, though, in the way of settlement residuals that exceed 30K years and certainly nothing matching the proposed / purported mammoth bones said by some to be human-affected dated to 130K years. For the moment, it looks like Clovis did not derive from Solutrean technology from Europe as proposed, it really was near-parallel development. If Clovis tech were descended from Solutrean tech, we have another problem because there is no DNA in any existent Native American population dating from the same rough time, none. This means that somehow the Asian-descended "Native" tribes would have had to have understood and adopted the Solutrean technology yet killed every single European -sourced person so that there is ZERO DNA passed along. If Clovis technology was imported, it was into a continent already peopled by those using other technologies. Possible. Also possible it was derived in place .. that improbable but not impossible parallel evolution idea. South America is a different puzzle. One piece interesting to me is the yam / sweet potato. Apparently it is indigenous to the south pacific islands. I is maybe reasonable that some could have washed up on South America and taken root, but if so, why do the south American natives use exactly the same word as the south pacific islanders for it? This points to earlier contact than we currently think possible. We could ask why the Olmec heads' features appear sub Saharan African. Coincidence of artistry or .. familiarity with people from continents that shouldn't theoretically have been able to contact each other. We have to be a bit cautious about timelines though. A friend years back was sure that South American and African people migrated back and forth overland before the mid Atlantic Ridge took over. Hah hah, missed by a couple hundred million years. Oops.
  26. I can see why this story made the local news, but why a cross-dressing wild man with a mask and pet dog was included in Bigfoot in Pennsylvania by Timothy Renner, I cannot explain beyond the need to fill space or to stretch credulity. From the The York (PA) Daily on August 11 and 12, 1874.
  27. The world's first -- and worst -- infomercial, published in the Public Ledger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 30, 1847 and included in Bigfoot in Pennsylvania by Timothy Renner. While it does demonstrate the degree to which wild men existed in public imagination, it clearly is just an advertising ploy.
  28. In this episode, a witness recounts a chilling roadside encounter on Wildcat Mountain Road near Estacada, Oregon. While driving, they describe seeing a large, hairy figure walking along the road, which appears to notice the vehicle, pause, duck down, and hide in a dip among the bushes. The encounter unfolds silently, with the figure remaining concealed while watching from the roadside. This firsthand account adds to a growing collection of unexplained sightings in rural Oregon, raising questions about what may be inhabiting remote mountain roads and forested areas. Was it a misidentified person, or something far more unusual? πŸ—£οΈ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?
