Most appeared to be felines, unfortunately. The first report is from 1949; the next 1950. In 1951, a knowledgeable outdoorsman and state game officials pooh-poohed the idea of large wild felines in eastern Pennsylvania.

It's interesting. Animals DO evacuate from fire areas, even long distances. I'm a little dubious about the nature of the write up though, then again, it's done by a resort that would use the BF/SQ phenomenon as a marketing tool. You can tell it was written by someone who does PR "Could this finally be the definitive proof...." et al. Either way, it's interesting. Too bad Cliff B didn't check out and cast the tracks.

With all our fires, I wonder that, too. Those are pretty neat photos. Whomever found them had a good eye. Most people would not notice.
