I think the proliferation of formal and informal group expeditions suggests that numerous approaches are effective in producing encounters of various kinds, which may mean success to the people who learn things from them. Those who press for scientific acceptance/discovery are going to be unsuccessful then, I agree, as I don't see that happening anytime soon.

Interesting question. The answer hides in "realistic" .. and despite some strong beliefs, nobody truly knows that is or is not realistic so far as approaches. Maybe we are all tilting at the windmill's reflection instead of the windmill. If so, the number of people with a realistic chance of success is .. zero. Maybe the only thing we are doing right, at all, is by being out there trying futilely, we are at least putting ourselves in a place where a fortunate accident can happen. Certainly the lack of results producing scientific acceptance, something true since before the PGF, which will be 60 years next fall, suggest we are not doing something very effectively ... not you, not me, not BFRO, not .. anybody. So for the moment, I'll say "zero."

This report comes from Scotland. In Scottish folklore, Am Fear Liath Mòr (Scottish Gaelic for 'Big Grey Man'; pronounced [əm ˈfɛɾ ʎiə ˈmoːɾ]; (also known as the Big Grey Man of Ben Macdui or simply the Greyman) is the name for a presence or creature which is said to haunt the summit and passes of Ben Macdui, the highest peak of the Cairngorms and the second highest peak in the British Isles after Ben Nevis.[1] Description Although there have been many purported encounters with the Big Grey Man, few eyewitnesses report to have actually seen the creature. It is said to be very thin and over ten feet (three metres) tall, with dark skin and hair, long arms, and broad shoulders.[2] Most often, the creature remains unseen in the fog of the mountain, with encounters limited to the sound of crunching gravel as it walks behind climbers and a general feeling of unease around the mountain.[3] Tangible evidence of its existence is limited to a few photographs of unusual footprints, so the majority relies on the credibility of eyewitness encounters.[4]

That's probably not a bad estimate, although that depends on their definition of success. If we include those who had unlooked for encounters, probably more. Some of those go into searching for answers etc.

^ Yeah, your estimate is probably closer to the truth. Although, me and my dog, Gracie, do look for BF in the bushes at our Botanic Garden here. It's only a few acres though, with about 2 or 3 squirrels for food so; I wonder what their 'caloric intake' would be.

Thanks for the numbers, I didn't realize that historic human population growth was so dramatic. As I understand, the annual growth rate is currently only about .84% (probably for the best). I even read that human population is projected to actually decrease slowly starting sometime between 2050 and 2086 (2086 is as per the UN Populations Division). I intend to look into the projected causes for that (along with about a billion other things on my 'research list', lol). I currently ask AI/google/Siri/Alexa about 100 questions/day and I'm trying not to break the Internet... How many people are actually looking for Bigfoot with any realistic chance/method of success though? A few thousand??

Hello everyone, I have been interested in bigfoot for as long as I can remember. I was born and lived for the first 8 years of my life in Northern California. I couldn't have been more than 5 when I heard my grandpa, grandma and my parents were talking about it. My mom made them stop as she was afraid me and my brother would be scared. Nothing could have been further from the truth on that. I was totally fascinated and have been ever since. Yes, I have seen one. But not in California. Believe it or not it was in South Arkansas.
