  3. In this episode of Bigfoot Society, we invite Neal Ryder back from bigfoottalk.com and rural Georgia, who has spent years observing ongoing Bigfoot activity on his wooded property. Located in an area where multiple creek bottoms converge and dense hardwood forests stretch across the landscape, Neal shares how repeated encounters began after settling on the land and never truly stopped. Through detailed observations of footprints, vocalizations, gifting behaviors, and changes in the terrain, he paints a vivid picture of long-term Bigfoot presence tied closely to the natural features of the region. Neal also discusses seasonal patterns, nursery areas hidden near ridges and waterways, and how clear-cut logging around the property altered movement and behavior. His firsthand insights offer a grounded, methodical look at Bigfoot activity rooted in place, time, and careful attention to the land. Join us as we explore Neal’s ongoing experiences and the deepening mystery unfolding in the forests of Georgia. 10. Though carried in many newspapers, this article from The Buffalo (NY) Commercial published on December 16, 1839. After a month of these reports, The Wilkes-Barre (PA) Advocate published it's viewpoint on the whole problem on January 8, 1840. This story is recounted in The Bigfoot Casebook by Janet and Colin Bord. It sounds familiar to me; if you find I've double-posted, please let me know.
  11. The first story is how the news appeared in The Daily Herald of Monongahela (PA) on October 27, 1926; this newspaper is relatively close to the town of Brownsville. The second story is from a distant paper that needed to fill space.

  13. In this episode, we delve further into the unsettling experiences shared by Gary Allen as he returns to Skookum Ridge in Oregon’s Mount Hood National Forest, an area he has explored for years while researching Bigfoot activity. Traveling the ridgelines, river crossings, meadows, and campgrounds around Skookum Ridge, Gary recounts a pattern of encounters that unfold across familiar trails and remote sections of forest. As the terrain changes from dense timber to open clearings and steep canyon slopes, strange sounds, movement in the trees, and unexplained reactions from animals begin to emerge. Campsites, horse trails, and nearby forest roads become part of a larger picture that suggests something is present and aware of those passing through its territory. Through detailed firsthand accounts rooted in specific locations around Skookum Ridge, this episode offers a grounded look at repeated encounters in one of Oregon’s most active wilderness areas. Join us as we explore what it’s like to spend years returning to the same place, slowly realizing that something may be following every step along the ridge. 14. Last week
  15. A century ago, Traverspine stood near the foothills of the Mealy Mountains in central Labrador; today it is an abandoned ghost town surrounded by dark spruce woods that cloak millions of acres. In the early 1900s, this isolated little settlement was the scene of an extraordinary haunting by large creatures none could identify. Strange tracks were found in the woods. Unearthly cries were heard in the night. Sled dogs went missing. Children reported being stalked by a terrifying grinning animal. Was it a Bigfoot?* To find out, someone is going to have to read The Whisper on the Night Wind: The True History of a Wilderness Legend by Adam Shoalts, who appears to be a prolific Canadian author. It tells the tale of the Traverspine gorilla which haunted (and hunted?) this remote town. Among the earliest investigators of this creature was Dr. Wilfred Grenfell, a noted wilderness physician and missionary, who collected stories of evidence from other early men of science in the area. * The summary and description of the Traverspine gorilla are both based on Amazon's description of the book and the portion made available to read for free. I found numerous articles about Wilfred Grenfell, but none which recounted stories about this creature.
  16. Published in The Brooklyn (NY) Citizen on November 29, 1893. The story of this wild man is also included in Bigfoot Encounters in New York and New England by Robert and Paul Bartholomew. The book highlights the reasons why this wild man is unlikely to be a shipwrecked sailor, but omits key facts that are included which appear to clearly indicate that the authorities were dealing with a man. ********** Spoiler Alert - Sounds like a Man, not a Bigfoot********** This is not the clipping which the Bartholomew brothers found; it would have disabused them of any beliefs as to this being a Bigfoot. From The Evening World of New York (NY), also on November 29, 1893.

  18. In this episode, we explore the repeated encounters reported in and around Eureka, Montana, a quiet border town set against the Canadian line and surrounded by forests, ravines, and long-traveled wildlife corridors. Living on a rural property shaped by harsh winters and open ranch land, our guest shares a series of experiences that unfolded over multiple seasons and nights. From close-range sightings near the home to tracks of varying sizes found along fence lines and travel routes, the activity described appears ongoing and deeply connected to the landscape. As the story develops, patterns emerge that extend beyond a single property. Movement through ravines, unexplained disturbances around buildings, nighttime sounds carrying across the land, and physical evidence left behind all reflect conditions familiar to longtime residents of northern Montana. These accounts echo regional knowledge passed quietly between neighbors and across generations. This episode also includes accounts from Ohio, Kentucky and Oklahoma. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 20. Brayden who is from Washington State writes "I recently moved to a new property with my girlfriend to help care for my grandfather as he gets older, and I've started noticing some strange activity around the property. I'm mainly looking for insight into what this could be. It began with an odd sixth sense feeling like I was being watched. I work a swing shift, so I get home late, and I'd often feel uneasy when pulling into the driveway. At first, I brushed it off as nerves from being in a new place. Then the noises started. The first incident happened while I was at work. My girlfriend called me, shaken, saying that something was walking outside the house and breathing heavily. I told her it was probably a buck looking for a doe since it was mating season, which seemed reasonable at the time. Not long after, one weekend night, we were both woken up by chattering sounds coming from two different directions. We just lay there frozen in bed, listening. Another incident involved tapping on the side of the house, which I was able to record." Curtis writes "My twin brother and I had an intense encounter with a group of three Sasquatches back in the summer of 1983." After speaking with the eyewitness, he explained that in 1983, he and five other kids were playing in the woods, pretending to be in a war game. He recalled that three large creatures emerged from behind the school, stepping out from the tree line. The creatures walked right past him, his twin brother, and their friends. At first, he mistook the creatures for his brother and friends, but upon a closer look, It wasn't his brother. He said they weren't as big as he had initially imagined they were nothing like the giant figures typically described or even like Patty." Listen to the Podcast
  21. If we take the supernatural or aliens off the table? I see three possibilities. 1) Sasquatch is a species of Homo. Maybe after the land bridge it got cut off and technology regressed. It lost the ability to make tools and fire. A lost banished Homo Erectus population that become some thing else. It’s a human cousin that filled a niche we didn’t excel at. A nocturnal lone wolf preferring steep mountainous terrain and boreal forests. They watched us evolve from the edge of the timber line. 2) It’s a species of convergent bipedal evolution from a known group of great apes like Orangutans. Or Paranthropus, Gigantopethicus or some old world ape order now extinct with Sasquatch living on. If we evolved to walk bipedal, diverging from a Chimp like ancestors 4 million years ago? Who is to say it didn’t happen more than once in Africa or Asia? 3) It’s a new world ape that evolved here and was never anywhere else. It shares nothing in common with old world apes other than superficial similarities. Its closest living relative could be a Spider Monkey or some other Amazon Monkey species. An even older example of convergent evolution that has no close relationship with great apes or humans. It’s completely its own species, genus and family. And its fossil record is completely undiscovered. Humans invaded it’s territory only very recently in time scale. There is no male Neanderthal DNA left in the world. People who have 4-8 percent DNA get it from a maternal lineage. Which means that human and Thal hybrid male children either were still born or were sterile. Which means that our two species interbreeding was strained to its limits. Much like what we see with a Donkey and a Horse. Mules are usually 99.9 percent sterile. With an exceptionally rare Molly mule getting pregnant and beating the odds. I have heard similar reports within Indian legends. The child is often still born. There are other stories in the old world but I will just stick with North America. Options 2-3 wouldn’t produce a viable pregnancy much less a fetus. Are the stories to be trusted? We just don’t know. Maybe the woman was pregnant when she was abducted and rough abuse and trauma just eventually aborted the pregnancy .
  22. In this episode, we explore a series of firsthand encounters shared live by witnesses from across the country, each rooted deeply in place and personal experience. From a late-night ride on a rail-to-trail outside Charlotte, to firewood camps near Shiprock and the Four Corners region, the stories unfold with precise locations and unforgettable detail. Listeners are taken into dense Indiana forest at Yellowwood State Park, along remote hunting land in southwestern Louisiana, and into river corridors of South Carolina where nighttime activity escalated quickly. Field research and long-term exploration in the San Bernardino Mountains add another layer, shaped by years of tracks, photographs, and time spent on the land. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 23. The first article, published in the Corvallis (OR) Gazette on May 25, 1900 expresses some skepticism that the wild man is simply a missing father-in-law. The second, published in the Salem (OR) Statesman Journal on May 27, 1900, suggests that the search has broadened considerably (or that there is more than one wild man). The last article from the Albany (OR) Democrat on June 1, 1900 closes out the wild man of Polk County with little fanfare.
  24. Published in the Hartford (CT) Courant on July 8, 1765 about a mysterious animal encountered near Great Barrington. This appears to be the source of the O'Connor story, although certain facts were clearly omitted or changed. Note that the article ends mid-word, but the section of the page where the remainder of the story should appear is illegible.

  26. In this episode of Bigfoot Society, we explore a series of firsthand encounters that stretch across reservations, mountain ranges, highways, and deep forest corridors. Beginning on an Utah reservation, a witness reflects on childhood memories shaped by glowing red eyes in the trees and experiences that followed him into adulthood while patrolling the same land as a wildlife officer. Moving north into the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho, late-night vocalizations echo through campgrounds and timbered slopes, leaving lasting impressions on those who heard them. The journey continues through Kentucky back roads near Rochester Dam, British Columbia highways near the border, remote stretches of California’s Sierra Nevada, the dense interior of Algonquin Park in Ontario, and river bottoms along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Each account is grounded in place, shaped by terrain, isolation, and moments when the woods felt aware and responsive. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience?
