Interview With Hunter Who Mistakenly Killed A Sasquatch
norseman replied to Incorrigible1's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Thank you for a very detailed history of Gigantopithicus. If no one knows what G. Blacki looked like? How are you so convinced that it’s skull ended up on the Patty skeleton 3d print? And you’re telling me that if modern forensic sculptors had a good video of a G. Blacki they could not recreate the skeleton? I know they could. That would be way easier and more accurate than recreating a whole animal based on a molar and jaw bone fragments. Cyclops? Are you suggesting modern forensic sculptors would make a cyclops out of an elephant skull? To my knowledge the cyclops myth comes from ancient peoples. Just as G. Blacki teeth were sold associated with dragons. Instead of a very large primate. I am not sure where you are going with any of this. It’s very obvious that Patty’s morphology is very different from a Homo Sapien. Dr. Jeff Meldrum’s project I think is an interesting one and something science does all the time. Calling it a “fake” does a disservice to him and to science. Science makes educated guesses based on available data. Velociraptors were the size of turkeys and feathered. No one knew this when Jurassic park came out. It’s ever evolving. But I am mystified by the fact that someone could look at Patty and say “that’s a human woman”! She looks nothing like a human woman. And morphology matters! It’s an expression of DNA after all. And if you diss on Dr. Jeff Meldrum because he created something that looks too “ape like” in your mind? Where are you getting the data it’s not? What are your credentials to say it’s wrong? Is this simply because of preconceived notions? Melba Ketchums DNA study? What the root cause here for such consternation? Thou protest too much. -
Interview With Hunter Who Mistakenly Killed A Sasquatch

Sorta' like finding a 40,000 year old splinter of finger bone in a cave and building a new human species. They do it all the time. Then they ignore the 800 lb two-legged critter running around in their back yards. - Today

Pennsylvania 1920 - Gorilla or Large Ape Sighted Near Doerr Terrace (The Escalation)
Trogluddite posted a topic in More Historical Newspaper Archives
Things escalated quickly - the first article is from the Pittsburgh (PA) Gazette Times, published on August 24, 1920. Possibly as a result of that injury, the local authorities came up with a plan to use chlorine gas "of the kind used in battles during the world war" to smoke out the ape. What could possibly go wrong? The second article was published in the West Chester (PA) Daily Local News on August 24, 1920. -
He Twisted the Antlers — And That’s When I Saw His Face! | Washington
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
What would you do if you stumbled across a creature in the forest so powerful — it twisted a deer's neck with its bare hands? In this raw and jaw-dropping episode, we hear from Miguel, a lifelong outdoorsman from the Spokane region of Washington State. Miguel recounts his terrifying encounter in the buck brush near Marble Mountain, where he and a friend witnessed a massive Sasquatch kill and drag away a full-grown deer — all in broad daylight. This story includes detailed descriptions of the creature’s movements, physical appearance, and the disturbing sounds it made while feeding. Miguel’s story doesn't stop there. He also shares an equally chilling encounter with a vibrating, cloaked entity near Mount Spokane — and how these events led to a complete spiritual transformation. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to truly see Bigfoot — and how it changes everything — don’t miss this unforgettable story from Stevens County. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? hi, im josh, and i have some follow up from my previous post, (previous post copied here): "hi y'all my names josh, i have recently had an encounter with a sasquatch, i was on my commute home from work (i do work for a major oil company in aus), when suddenly i saw a silhouette of a large looking creature, it didnt look like a man. i was confused and exhausted from being out on the rig for the last week, but i made myself stop to check it out. keep in mind, up to this point i have never believed in anything superstitious, i dont believe in ghosts or aliens and i would consider myself a traditional rational man. But as i got out of my truck i looked off into the surrounding trees (off to the side of the highway) and i swear i saw a sasquatch, i cant explain it but it just stared at me with its yellow eyes. i went to snap a pic to show the lads, and it just runs off. i went home and told the misses and she didnt believe me, i tried with all my might to explain it to her and she just called me a whackjob and walked off. im been upset with her since, so i have a few questions for some experts (if their willing to help me out): - what are the possibilities that this creature was a sasquatch? - what can i say to the misses if she continues to doubt me? - is it worthwhile going back to the spot where i saw it? thanks in advance " since this happened i have spiraled a little, i lost my job on the rig, have lost a large amount of money in a bigfoot related scam (be careful on facebook) and the misses is staying with her mother for a while as i "get help", however i now believe that i am on the trail of a real sasquatch, i'll elaborate; i went back to the spot where i first saw the beast the day after my first encounter, while there i found no trace of the beast, however i have been reading up on austalian sasquatches and apparently, they only come out to surface in winter, i was wondering if this is true. also, me and the lads are heading out on sunday to hunt for the beast, was wondering if we actually found it, what the best way to go about it was (eg. stun it, trap it, kill it in the name of science or distract it while we catch a pic), really unsure about all of this and any clarification would be mightily appreciated. thanks once again, josh

Interview With Hunter Who Mistakenly Killed A Sasquatch
Catmandoo replied to Incorrigible1's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
No one knows what Gigantopithecus blacki looked like. G.H.R. von Koenigswald found several large teeth in a Hong Kong apothecary being sold as 'dragon bones'. Not exactly boots on dirt field work. Koenigswald did not do much with the dragon teeth. Currently the score is 2,000 fossilized teeth and 4 jawbones. No skulls, no fragments of skulls. Modern forensic sculptors do impressive work because they work off of skulls, partial skulls. No cranial fossils for Giganto means no visual image. Serious study has been done on teeth to determine food availability over time for the knuckle draggers. Serious fruit eater and then adapting to fibrous foods like bark and twigs. Odd that there is no fossil record for a large animal that roamed around China / SE Asia for 2 million years. Pesky porcupines really ate up those bones before the soil decomposed what remained. Modern researchers have put in about a decade of research on the teeth and jaw bones. It is believed that the closest living relative is the Bornean orangutan. Orangutan <--> Sasquatch is a no go. Combining bones from different animals is a bad idea. Anyone remember the giant cyclops heads? They were elephant skulls. next -
Why is the federal government mum on Bigfoot.
Huntster replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Why would that be so? The feds have not been involved in the taxonomic classification of any other animal. I have asked for years who is the guy who decides. Nobody has an answer. I don't. -

georgerm replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is the executive department responsible for protecting wildlife in the United States. It operates within the United States Department of the Interior and oversees the management of fish, wildlife, and natural habitats. I suppose the Fish and Wildlife Service would determine the genus and species name of Sasquatch. If they decided that Sasquatch was a Homo sapien then as Hunt stated it would cause all kinds of bureaucratic tangles and sasquatch would be protected like any human in the forest. It depends on the forest habitat so it's botanical needs would be considered first. The genus and species name of Sasquatch could be something like Homo sasquatch which may be close enough to a human which possibly would mess up human needs from forest land. Do you think the United States Fish and Wildlife Service is working on this problem as we discuss this issue? It would be wise of USFWS to work on this project because it's going to happen sometime soon so they should have their ducks in a row. I suppose the topic is too controversial, and they don't want touch it with a 10 foot pole. It would be wise to start working on definitions and legislation before a live sasquatch is brought in for identification. Smeja nearly brought in a dead Sasqiatcj. It seems like about 10 years ago or more, I read a report that a live sasquatch was brought into a University in California. The biology department had it in special quarters for it to live. For some reason or another the biologist we're not able to keep this Bigfoot and something paranormal happened where it got out. They had to give up on the project. Does anybody remember this happening? - Yesterday

Pennsylvania 1920 - Gorilla or Large Ape Sighted Near Doerr Terrace (The Beginning)
Trogluddite posted a topic in More Historical Newspaper Archives
Doerr Terrace was a new development laid out on the south side of Pittsburgh in 1902. In December 1919, a "wild man" had been terrorizing a remote section of southwestern Pennsylvania, a mere 40 miles away. By August of 1920 a large ape or gorilla had moved to Pittsburgh. The first article was published in the Pittsburgh (PA) Post on August 21, 1920. The article, about the posse that was formed, was published in the Pittsburgh (PA) Gazette Times on August 22, 1920. UPDATE: I forgot to mention that many of the stories concerning the Doerr Terrace ape were published in Bigfoot in Pennsylvania by Timothy Renner. -
Wild Humans (and Journalists) Running Wild

Published in the Pittsburgh (PA) Post-Gazette on December 1, 1894. It's a hard read at some points due to the condition of the old newspaper, but well worth it. A giant (6' 4") hermit living in the Montana wilderness. -
No need to thank me. I WANT discussion and understanding and sharing of information and theories. I appreciate the opportunity to pick up different points of view and perspectives. This forum seems to be a LOT better and more reasonable than some I have looked in on.

^^ I forgot about the statue possibility. I was driving back from an event I attended and passed a landscaping place that sold the normal panoply of concrete bird baths, benches, and animals in striking poses, all to put in your lawn and make mowing difficult. They had three life size (Bigfoot, not human, life size) concrete Bigfoots. I'd love to know what the comments were in the Facebook group.

Interview With Hunter Who Mistakenly Killed A Sasquatch
norseman replied to Incorrigible1's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
If science can exhume a skull and look at the skull and decide where all the muscle attachment points are? And then recreate the face, the lips, the eyes, the nose and the mouth with precision? Then they can look at a living creature and reverse engineer its skeleton. Muscle and bone and how they interact is a two way street. There is nothing “Giganto” about it. It’s Patty. So be it. -
Thank you. Great explanation

Background of this photo?
NorCalWitness replied to PNWexplorer's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Sure, its trolling, but its not AI. Most likely a statue or a person in a suit. -
Copied the image, dragged it into this site, and it said that they are quite confident that no AI was used to generate the image. However, the "creature" doesn't look that tall compared to other object in the photo and as noted above, the "gee, do you like my sunset picture" without mentioning the Bigfoot in the room is disingenuous trolling.

New York 1891 - Wild Man (Actually a Hermit) on Long Island - Tirademan!
Trogluddite replied to Trogluddite's topic in More Historical Newspaper Archives
Apparently, this hermit/wild man was in the Mattituck area for some time. From the Pittsburgh (PA) Post-Gazette of November 21, 1891, a full three years before the prior report. -
Pennsylvania 1919 - Wild Man Terrorizes Ryerson station
Trogluddite posted a topic in More Historical Newspaper Archives
Published in the Pittsburgh (PA) Post-Gazette on December 21, 1919. Ryerson Station is now a 1,164-acre park in the southwestern corner of Pennsylvania, near the West Virginia border. This report, in conjunction with some more I'll be posting soon, may be an example of "the halibut effect." This is discussed on the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization website and I'm sure its mentioned somewhere in the Forums as well. Essentially, man's impact on the environment (through logging or building, e.g.) can drive out wildlife but when the environment recovers (forests regrow, farms are abandoned), the wildlife that fits that environment returns. -
Personally, I think a return to film rather than digital (when it's still possible to GET film) for video and stills would be a step forward for researchers who used them as an adjunct to digital media when possible. Then again, I am a lousy photographer no matter what medium I would use....

Alaska: Chukes Outdoors talks to Small Town Monsters

I enjoy Chuke's work, as well as STM and Aleks Petakov. I like Eli too. I appreciate the way they don't sensationalize every single noise and always look for alternate explanations and "What is more likely". The work they've done at the cabin at Area A has been some good content. -
Wild Humans (and Journalists) Running Wild
Trogluddite replied to Trogluddite's topic in More Historical Newspaper Archives
A baseball playing Bigfoot? Sign him up. UPDATE: I found the publication data. This story was printed in the Franklin (PA) News-Herald on August 28, 1920 - during the height of the Doerr Terrace gorilla or large ape scare that was occurring just to the north of this location. The idea of hoaxers taking advantage of recent sightings is not out of the ordinary, as we all know. -
NOTE: Some of the language in this article, published on August 13, 1845 in the (Harrisburg) Pennsylvania Weekly Telegraph may offend modern readers. Publishing this old report of a possible Bigfoot does not represent an endorsement of the language used 180 years ago.

I think we are agreeing just in different language. As far as Standing goes....yes, I absolutely believe he faked the "Muppet Videos" as you call them (brilliant name by the way) especially. If I had to put a BS Meter to anything Standing has claimed as real since the video of the alleged creature running up the side of the cliff which if ANYONE other than Standing had introduced I wouldn't suspect it. The one with the black forehead....I allow for the possibility it is genuine, not the probability. As for the rest of his stuff...I don't credit at all as being real. So yes, he has NO credibility and is a definite red flag. PLUS....and this is purely from an LE point of view...I spent 27 years being lied to on a daily basis and if I were interviewing him I would be calling BS if he said it was raining and I was getting soaked. I am absolutely convinced that the P-G film is genuine. Everything about that, especially the enhanced and stabilized versions now available SCREAM "live creature". Standing, I am convinced, is desperately trying to hold onto his "brand" and his cult of followers and I believe he is actively engaged in hoaxing in order to do it.
