    Possible track on Sherman Pass

I kick myself because we are on our way to NM to see the grandkids. That was a fine opportunity.
  3. Published in the Reading (PA) Times on July 23, 1873. A few months later a wild man was reported approximately 60 miles northeast, in Rowland, Pennsylvania. That brief item is from The Daily Freeman of Kingston (NY) on September 18, 1873.
  4. Published in the Harrisburg (PA) Telegraph on June 04, 1873.
  5. This story in The Courier-Journal of Louisville (KY) on March 5, 1853 reprints a story from a Florence, Alabama newspaper. The Alabama editors seem to suspect that the Arkansas editors writing about the giant wild man in that state are all "boss liars." The follow up article, with a happy ending, was found in the Republican Banner of Nashville (TN) on April 13, 1853.

  12. Join us as Greg “Squatch Man” Yost recounts the night that changed his life forever—when a massive Bigfoot emerged from the darkness of Ferdinand State Forest in Dubois County, Indiana. In this powerful, emotional interview, Squatch Man shares his 24 years of encounters, including the terrifying first moment a “forest giant” breathed behind a tree just 20 feet away, his unforgettable Knobstone Trail stare-down, and the remarkable experiences that convinced him the “forest people” are intelligent, aware, and deeply connected to the land. From Clark State Forest to Daniel Boone Forest, from tree knocks to full-body sightings, Greg opens up about fear, transformation, spiritual awakening, and the extraordinary interactions that shaped his mission to understand Bigfoot. Whether you’re a believer, a skeptic, or simply Bigfoot-curious, this episode delivers one of the most detailed encounter stories ever recorded. Topics Include: • Bigfoot encounters in Indiana & Kentucky • Ferdinand State Forest confrontation • Knobstone Trail “forest people” sighting • How intentions affect Bigfoot interaction • Spiritual and emotional impact of encounters • Eye glow phenomena, tree knocks, and vocalizations • Why Squatch Man believes they are “people,” not animals 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 16. I would agree that if you have sasquatches around, the bears are probably not. It's funny that the most famous nighttime sasquatch terror stories are the kidnappings of Albert Ostman and Muchalat Harry, both of which occurred in the 1920's........also when the Ape Canyon cabin attack occurred. No (or little known) kidnappings since. A sasquatch kidnapping might still beat a bear mauling while wrapped up in a tent...........

  19. Former Forums member Scott McClean (RIP) posted several stories about the Winsted Wild Man from August of 1895. The encounters, and calls for the governor to act, continued into September of that year. The first article is from the New Haven (CT) Morning Journal-Courier on September 04, 1895; the second is from The Meriden (CT) Daily Republican on September 07, 1895.

  22. Yeah, that is terrifying. Being trapped in tent fabric, maybe unable to free your arms and legs to put up a fight, while being eaten. I share that. In a way that's why I take a strange comfort in sensing the big folks near camp. My hope is the bears will stay away to avoid them. Might seem weird to people who are particularly afraid of bigfoot and I get that, but there is a hierarchy of concern and BF is nowhere near the top of my personal list. Snakes don't bother me too much. I was bitten by a rattlesnake once .. I didn't care for it. I'm careful with snakes but they don't give me the visceral heebie jeebies the way spiders do. I shoot spiders. Around home my GF takes care of the spiders, I take care of any rodents (which affect her like spiders do me) .. it's a mutually acceptable tradeoff. Spiders + bears are why I like a mesh bug bivy for backpacking. Keeps the crawlies away but I can see around me if I hear something. Hand on sidearm .. yes .. and flashlight in the other. Being able to see is the great equalizer. Reminds me of the saying about "in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king."
  23. Experience one of the most intense Bigfoot case files to come out of Southern Illinois. In this episode, Bryce Edwards shares decades of high-strangeness from his 642-acre family farm near the Shawnee National Forest, Pond Creek, and the legendary Big Muddy Monster region. You’ll hear about massive footprints, eerie screams, tree knocks, mimicked voices, nighttime whistles, and two shocking Sasquatch sightings—including one broad-daylight encounter of a black, 8-foot creature digging into a hillside. We dig into: • Generational sightings dating back to the 1960s • How Bigfoot may use nearby train tracks and waterways as travel routes • Strange vocalizations captured near ponds, fields, and wooded creek lines • Possible juvenile behavior, territorial displays, and mimicry • New evidence filmed and documented with researchers on-site If you’re fascinated by Bigfoot encounters, cryptid investigations, or Midwest Sasquatch activity, this is one of the most compelling Illinois cases you’ll ever hear. Possible track on Sherman Pass

Nah, HOAX!! There's a secret society of hoaxers that go around and plant bigfoot tracks so that unsuspecting hikers/snowplow operators/etc. will find them. Others in their group run around in Bigfoot costumes, anytime, anywhere. Sorry. Just feeling snippy this morning and need more coffee. In fact, I felt so snippy that I forgot to hit "Submit Reply" and will have to drink twice the usual coffee tomorrow morning....

  28. Most definitely, if not in grizzly country........but sasquatches might be "human"........... Tom lions and mature boar black bears are very definitely predators of solitary people, especially kids and small women. I don't fear wolves at all now, having numerous encounters with them at face to face range.........unless there's a pack of them. Even then, they've never snuck up on me. I seem to have the body language that works with them. I've never heard of a lion dragging somebody out of a tent at night, but I don't have to worry about them up here. That's my ultimate bear fear. I feel a lot better about it if I think I can get my hand on my sidearm. At least that's what I tell myself. Vipers are my nightmare. Bears are easy.
