  2. If it is classified as in the genus Homo, it would be *human*, so killing one would be *homicide*. But remember, more primitive bipedal apes (Australopithecus, Ardipithecus, Sahelanthropus, Oreopithecus, Danuvius, etc) lived at least several millions of years ago. The earliest homo species was 2.5 million years ago. It is definitely homicide, but not necessarily murder. Murder is defined as an illegal and intentional homicide. Self defense is a legal justification for homicide. But if a sasquatch decides to kill a man? It is almost certainly not possible to legally prosecute the sasquatch for murder if he is also a wild animal.

  5. There is no bygone conclusion that Bigfoot is legally a human. In fact I will say without a doubt it is not our species! Homo Sapiens But it may be classified in our genus. Homo Sasquatchelis or whatever. Is shooting something in your genus murder? We don't know. But shooting something in your Family is not? Despite some peoples best efforts? Great apes die at the hands of man even today. Despite laws to the contrary. And if any of these men were tried? It was for poaching. Not murder.
  6. Get ready for outrageous scenarios. Maybe Homo erectus had a subbranch of big, brained creatures that we will call Homo sasquatchensis, and Sasquatch had a basic language that evolved into telepathy. They didn't use tools due to their fantastic speed, deception, and agility to catch deer and other animals for food. They developed a high degree of intelligence that they used to avoid Homo sapiens. Just a wild theory. If bigfoot is an off shoot of Homo erectus then it would be illegal to shoot one. If Homo sasqatchensis kills a human, then specially trained Forest Service stalkers would determine which bigfoot is responsible for the murder, and they would bring it in to spend its remaining life in a zoo. Profits from zoo attendance would help train and pay for bigfoot stalkers. The others in the bigfoot clan would have small radio beacon earrings so they could be monitored, and they would live in and among clear cuts where they would hunt deer and other animals. The Forest Service would continue logging and timber sales as usual, and they would manage and train the bigfoot stalkers. A win win for the Forest Service, bigfoots, and the public.

  8. A fur-covered hand rose from the swamp water. Long fingers gripped a cypress knee. Two field workers near Chipley, Florida, watched something pull itself forward—and fled through four-foot-tall grass. The recording artist known as Shadowyze joins Jeremiah Byron to share the unexplained encounters that inspired his cryptid music. His account of a 2022 Florida survey includes a tall, blurry figure beside a tree, a sudden movement into the water, and another scare as the workers tried to finish their job. On a West Virginia ranch, Shadowyze recalls nightly knocking against a mobile home, oversized tracks, and a flashlight glimpse of a wolf-like animal he estimated was the size of a lion. In Ocala National Forest, he describes waking to something pushing the wall of his tent inward. From repeated wood knocks and unusual tree structures to encounters he associates with Bigfoot and Dogman, Shadowyze walks us through what he remembers—and the questions he still carries. Bigfoot myth or monster?

Does the forest service deal in delusions, myths, and magic, making bigfoot disappear in a cloud of smoke? After getting my bachelor's degree in park planning and Landscape Architecture from the U or Oregon, Bigfoot was never discussed. I worked in the main office of the Rogue River National Forest during 1974 and 1975 centered in Medford, Oregon. We never spoke about bigfoot even though it was filmed in 1967. Some of our workers who drove the back roads to manage timber sales probably saw bigfoot and it could have been a tabu subject. We had biologist in the main office, and they probably didn't see any bigfoots. I was born in Oregon and spent lots of time in the forest and never saw or spoke of bigfoot. We had suboffices all over about 30 to 60 miles out in the timbered lands. The Forest Service is divided into what they call Forest which are huge areas for logging and parks that are controlled from these locations. We were centered in Medford, Oregon and the next forest was about an hour's drive away in Grants Pass. It took me a year to design a major RV park and campground along the Applegate River then I got into helping design major logging clear cuts. I would drive the major highways of our forest in Oregon and mark large forested to be logged on the map. Again, didn't see a bigfoot. I marked large swaths of Forest Service timber for logging that tourist COULDN'T SEE from the highway. We called these UNSEEN AREAS. Can you see the big deception forming? The foresters would take this map and design clear cuts in these unseen areas that were not seen by tourist giving the illusion that the whole forest was timbered. This is the big delusion and keeping Oregon green was the motto. The big delusion now is bigfoot is a MYTH. Tourist could only see half of the mountains since the back side was out of view and clear cut down to the last tree. I was so disappointed and bumed out, that I quit after a few months of "seen area mapping." At that time, we never discussed bigfoot and the foresters never mentioned bigfoot. After 13 years went by, I finally saw a bigfoot and can't keep the critter off my mind. The forest service still calls it a myth and I don't know if they are still creating the delusion of "seen area mapping."

Well, I have two historical newspaper articles that were scheduled to come out later, but I just changed that to 1 minute after midnight. Apparently, once I set them for delayed publication, I can't change it back to "publish immediately." Be sure to check in first thing tomorrow (or later today for those in time zones further west) at https://bigfootforums.com/forum/203-more-historical-newspaper-archives/.

They have "official" position. From AI: Two joke entries on their official page have been pulled. See my screenshot and try them yourself. I can tell you as a former Army official that had I posted a joke on an official Army webpage, I would have been fried in deep fat. I'll pass on talking with the Forest Service. They're either clueless or intentionally redirecting interest.

Forrest Service = Frank Ishitara at Kodak There were questions about Kodak and the development of the PGF. A few diff times Kodak's Frank Ishihara was contacted and gave his expert opinion being heavily involved in Kodak development during the era in Q. We even had one of our BFF posters contact him and relate on a thread the conversation which can still be read today. <--That turned out to be very helpful. I suggest someone who is forest minded do the same thing with the forest service. We discuss what we think the forest service's opinion is about Bigfoot. Yet couldn't we find some general answers if someone made a few phone calls to the forest service. Perhaps they even give a number or put a caller on hold until they can "get their boss' or "let me transfer you" I am not expecting ground breaking info but we could see from their reaction how they respond. We could see if we are directed to an official position statement on the subject of Bigfoot. What do they think? Ask them.

  20. I believe you are correct. That's a huge question. If these creatures are determined to be hominins (and I'm sure they will be), they will be the most unique species on Earth. Unlike any other, they might be determined to have human rights, yet still be considered to be wild animals, thus forced assimilation would be inappropriate, if not outright impossible both for them and us. In addition to political resource and land use issues, the criminal behavior issues would have to be ironed out and lived with. For example, everybody would know of their existence, and many would be fearful. so what are the rules if camping and a sasquatch raids your camp at night, even if just curious or stealing your morning granola? Can you shoot it if fearful? It's "human", and there's likely fewer than 5000 of them throughout North America. In comparison, there are @ 22,000 polar bears in North America, and not many more humans in polar bear habitat.

  22. A family called police after something spent hours circling their home and shrieking. The responding officer reportedly watched a huge, two-legged figure clear a five-foot fence. The family said it returned after he left. Retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer Chris Raabis comes forward to share the Bigfoot-related call he helped follow up on near Pemberton, British Columbia. He describes interviewing the frightened family, hearing his colleague’s account, and documenting the incident in a police file. Chris also shares his own unexplained experiences near Nelson: strange chattering during a nighttime dog walk, breaking trees, a thunderous impact he interpreted as a thrown boulder, and deer remains with no visible blood on the surrounding snow. What happened outside that family’s home—and what is happening in these British Columbia forests? 24. Government has very good reasons to keep sasquatches undiscovered and let's look at some of those reasons why the Forest Service and BLM probably do not want sasquatch to be discovered and receive a genus and species name. The government knows at some point a bigfoot will be captured or a body or living creature will be recovered. It's just a matter of time before a bigfoot is captured or killed which is necessary to proving its existence, and the government agencies in charge of timber production probably have a plan in place once the discovery happens. What do you think the plan is? When discovery happens an agency will be in charge of the new species and its well being since the public will probably demand that bigfoot's habitat will be protected. Once discovered then problems will begin such as environmental groups will demand that bigfoot be protected and logging close to it's range of operation will probably be stopped. This is when major problems will begin to happen and I will turn this conversation to the members to describe what these problems might be and what are the possible solutions.

  29. The U.S. government has literally hundreds of years of experience trying to get native peoples and immigrants to live together in peace. Current events demonstrate that the battles continue. With sasquatchery, and unlike Native American tribes, "mythology" helps keep the political difficulty to such a minimum as to eliminated it altogether. From AI: It's tough enough to deal with humanity under ethnic and tribal terms. Sub-species adds complexities and legal uncertainties. Government has very good reasons to keep sasquatches undiscovered. It makes their lives easier, keeps sasquatches living as wild as possible, reduces impacts to sasquatches by humanity, and reduces economic disruptions to a minimum.
