1) a cell phone is found out in the woods, a little off trail, which once charged reveals a series of "clearer than usual " pictures of first one then two+ sasquatch following a person, getting closer....no missing person reports for the area 2) Cliff Barackman happens upon another trackway, and casts every decent print of it until it stops midst ride 3) Patty finally comes forth and cops to the fact that it was indeed her, in a suit..... 4) one of the developers trump sells federal land to gets run off by a tribe of "fur covered people...probably liberals" so they return with greater numbers and find nothing but then really odd things start to happen all around the field camp that some describe as "like if the forest was a domestic terrorist" 5) trump declares sasquatch a "fake hoax" leaving people wondering "what he really meant by that?" 6) audio recordings will surface after the 1st of the year that contain further clearly linguistic sound patterns denoting different but related dialects spoken by voices with pitch ranges far beyond that of humans. And... 7) some so cal dude in an 80s VW vanagon camper van, along with his two cats, stop just outside of Orick CA, along the forested highway, where they're approached by a large hairy man-like creature making gestures clearly implying it was looking for a drum circle and then that it had some tasty venison if the fellow would manage a decent backbeat.......go figure

I suggest all three options are occurring.

I've been thinking about picking up either an 80s VW Westphalia Vanagon or one of those Winnebago x VW Eurovan Rialtos and going around California, Oregon, Washington, and BC/Alberta in the next few years ...do some listening, maybe play live music see if that brings anybody around the site...

I Very well put MIB and I believe you had a bigfoot sighting. This is why we don't see bigfoot. We are looking for the right thing in the wrong place. I've had this friend for over 50 years, and he has been an Alaska hunting guide and a bush pilot. Like me he is old at eighty years and has been living on an Indian reservation in northern Idaho and is now scouting for Elk every day. He is at the right place at the right time, and he told me last night that on two scouting occasions in the high timbered mountains on two occasions, he has seen a bigfoot. He is skookum and is in the right place at the right time. Skookum is an Indian word for woods wise.

Hallucination is not the correct word for what you are describing. Neither is delusion. Correct use of words is important in communication. What I was trying to get at, regarding bigfoot, is if we are all having delusions, how can they be biologically consistent delusions .. we all describe some 7-10 foot hairy somewhat human-like biped. Nobody is seeing 7 legged pink octopii in the woods. Almost nobody is reporting fairies and when they do, they don't call them bigfoot. Whatever is happening, if it is not real, it is still SHARED, something wired into every human consistently across time, culture, etc. It has to be in our biology, something so deep we all have it, exactly alike, regardless of our geographic, racial, etc history. The words we've used changed as our vocabulary, our culture, change over centuries, but the thing we are describing has not. That means something very specific.

There is another possible angle to that which goes back to what I was trying to say about "animal vs person" ... essentially self-aware and planning vs just reacting to natural conditions. That angle is willful deception .. deliberate actions meant to direct our attention somewhere they are not and at something they are not so that we are chasing what we imagine bigfoot to be rather than what bigfoot is. As long as we are looking for the wrong thing in the wrong place we're not going to be too successful finding it. And, since we are exactly not too successful finding it, I think we should consider deliberate misdirection more seriously. Just. My. Opinion. (Of course.) I don't think we should stop following whatever leads we get but I think we should consider, as we do that, whether we've been "had" yet again.

The mass delusion that big government is always right is a fact that we depend on ...............remember Dr. Fauci? The Navy, Forest Service, and State Police are part of big government that we need to find truth in. It's not unreal or a hallucination but a firm reality that big government is not always right. We believe that when big government tells us that bigfoot is a mythical creature. We are supposed to agree with this premise or statement. This means big government ........ the forest service won't spend a dime on researching and writing reports about this mythical creature. How many bigfoot reports are written by senior forest service officials that you can find on the forest service's publications or in the newspaper? Big government's top wildlife biologist must believe all the eyewitnesses on BFRO are mistaken or even more insulative........ crack pots to be ridiculed. Find one BFRO report by a top forest service official or university professor that describes his or her sighting of bigfoot in all the BFRO reports. Jeff Meldrum is the exception, and the big college government tried to take him down. What would happen if forest service employees who spend 4 hours a day driving forest service roads and going to and from official duties wrote articles about bigfoot and make claims to have seen one. Chances are many have seen bigfoot. Research and find out how many bigfoot sightings are written about by forest service employees such as wildlife biologist or even your average worker. They know this is a career ender that would be bad like a hallucination as MIB puts it. However, it's real and not a hallucination or a figment of the imagination.

I agree 100% that eye-witness experience is very, very relevant. The only other evidence I see approaching eye-witness testimony, so far, are footprints (very prevalent), vocalizations and convincing images (scarce). To your other points: 1.) Some in academia are negligent, most are not, in my experience. That is unless negligent implies that more of them should be out searching for Bigfoot. 2.) I don't give the entirety of Governments enough credit to cover-up anything. Many of our elected officials (whose salaries, benefits and often misused power we pay for) obfuscate a lot but, as Abraham Lincoln once said: "you cannot fool all of the people all of the time." 3.) Delusion implies a false perception of reality. I am convinced that whatever Bigfoot witnesses are seeing, it is very real. So, I think the options you omitted include: A. (as MIB suggested) - Humans are too inept to find them. And, B. (as I have suggested and which actually falls in line with ineptitude - they are beyond our current Scientific paradigms. That is: we do not have methods in place to even understand what they are which, significantly hampers our ability to find and classify them. That is humiliating in some ways, but since the paranormal is ultimately subject to some sort of explanation; I think it's good that we are not closing our minds to the discovery process.

I agree that Bigfoot is the hide and seek champion. And I agree that if it was a normal animal it would have been found long ago. But I also don't rule out the possibility that it WAS found a long time ago.🤷🏻‍♂️ Because it is so much like us that may be the problem with the powers that be. Yah so many parallels to ufology. Ufos were swamp gas and the witnesses were drunk rednecks. And anyone that defended any of it immediately thrown into that lot. But knowing the capabilities of the military and alphabet agencies, and watching leaked Ufo footage? What else do they have pertaining to our field as well? They don't just watch the sky. The also watch our shorelines and borders too. Yah. I think the mass delusion hypothesis right now is dying in a loud grotesque way in ufology. I think it will with us as well in the future.

Well, yes, but I also have "but but but" perspectives on these .. as you'd expect. I remember something Thom Powell wrote .. he said thing guerilla, not gorilla. I talked to him about that at the Richland conference more than a decade ago. His notion is there's a difference between a merely shy animal and something that goes to great, planned, deliberate ends to avoid us. That lemur is an animal, not a kind of person. In that context, comparing the two situations is not really apples to apples. Regarding coverup .. again, I haven't seen any signs of it despite a lot of interaction with both government officials and working in academia myself. So far as academic suicide, 'tis true the faculty at Idaho State tried to take Meldrum's tenur .. that's basically attempting to take away his retirement as well as his professional standing, so it is a real thing, but it is academia itself, not government, and it isn't being done under threat, it is done because his peers perceived his actions as making them look foolish by association with him. Mass delusion ... is a thing I've considered. The question is .. as I frame it .. is it possible there is something genetically broken in every human that causes us to have the same hallucination? It has to be something every single one of us has, genetically, not just an occasional twitch, because it manifests essentially identically in every person that has it happen. It crosses cultures, it crosses centuries, it crosses oceans .. yet the symptoms, the "hallucination" itself, remains essentially fixed. This can only be genetic wiring if it is mass hallucination. That also doesn't account for tracks, for audio recordings, etc. Plaster does not hallucinate. Audio equipment does not hallucinate. So .. possible but not very probable.

Thanks for the reply Norse and I agree with the biopsy dart gun usage. The forest service and blm biologist should incorporate biopsy dart guns as part of the tools for the hundreds of biologists and field workers that they employ. I think the most politically correct, and most expedient way forward currently is…. Biopsy darts. If everyone in research had a biopsy dart gun? At some point? Someone is gonna connect. And then we shall see if its “allowed” to be discovered.

I would argue that your experience is very relevant. And there are many many like you as well. Which only leaves three options in my mind. 1) Either academia is grossly negligent. (At least in North America) Because they can certainly discover a pocket Lemur in Madagascar! But cannot find a 800 lbs primate in the Cascades! 2) There is a government cover up. In which case science will never officially discover Bigfoot ever. Because attempting to do so is academic suicide. 3) Or this is some mass delusion of the human population.

No. I work alone. The trade that I worked in is not exactly one for scientific discovery. My BS meter is finely tuned.

Relax, the groundwork for protections was laid at the end of the previous century. A movie ran their disclaimer at the end of projection and stated that no animals or aliens were injured during the making of the movie. What a relief.

Not enough backhoes. Seems like backhoes find a lot of ancient bones, especially at construction sites.

It's not really up in the canyon ... exactly .. semantics, perhaps? If you drive up the Applegate to the top of the dam then continue on the main highway you'll come to a turnoff (left, down toward the lake) for Hart-Tish recreation site. Boat ramp and, in summer, a little store / concessions place. Just barely up-lake beyond that is a sign for the Collings Mountain trail .. the trap is up that a short distance. We generally drive past the trailhead, which is just on the road shoulder, across a small canyon where we can back in behind the guard rail instead of parking on the edge of traffic, then walk back a couple hundred yards or so to the trail. Edit to add - the Collings Mountain Trail is a loop and it returns to the highway near the back of the lake across the highway from Watkins Campground. Since you know the area, the report I followed up on was from Seattle Bar. A good friend / partner in crime followed up on one across the lake from the trap just uphill from the French Gulch boat ramp. I think it was part of that corridor that was cut off when the lake was filled. So far as USFS? I grew up around USFS employees, seasonal trail crew to district rangers. In 60+ years I've never seen anything to support the idea of an official cover-up. There's no play book they're working from, no conspiracy to hide bigfoot. If there is anyone out there who does know with certainty and feels tasked with keeping the secret, they don't have to do anything, the myth and ridicule will do that work without deliberate help. It's a matter of momentum. And so far as proving, I see essentially no way short of a body on a slab. I think pre-Ketchum, photos and DNA could have drawn enough scientific interest but that debacle snuffed those. DNA could probably still do it but it requires a big hunk of flesh, big enough to test, retest, re-retest, to eliminate contamination as an option .. which is a very high bar to clear .. and I think a hunk of flesh that big functionally implies a body. Taking it a step further, I think someone with deep enough pocket$ could fund testing and analysis that would tell us a lot about bigfoot without it being necessary to prove existence first. It would not be universally accepted but it would still be information for anyone willing to listen. I don't know who that would be now that Wally Hersom has passed away and Adrian Erickson has exited the playing field.

When I was younger, I had a dream Landscape Architect job with the Forest Service designing a large RV campground and a recreation park along the Applegate River in southern Oregon that took a year to do. I'm 79 now and want to be truthful about memories. After this was completed, my job became irritating and boring. No more parks were on the horizon, and my new job was to fool the public about logging! It was a clever plan that I've kept secret until now. My job was deception and to drive the main national forest highways and mark all the forest areas on a map that one can see from the road. I also marked forest areas behind mountains that were not seen. Can you guess where the plan for public deception is headed? The hillsides marked as unseen while driving the highway were going to be clear cut of all trees which upsets the public because Bamby the deer's forest was going to wiped out with logging and clear cutting. The refreshing forest seen from the highway were going to be preserved and all is good in nature land ................ so the public thinks. Needless to say, I became out raged, quit, and went to a different landscape architect job. My point is deception by the federal government that is also taking place with bigfoot. The forest service hires credentialed wildlife biologist and how many bigfoot reports have you read from one of these biologist? They spend hours driving remote forest roads, and hike on trails and a few of them must have seen bigfoot. Lots of people see them. I have two friends that saw one and I saw one too. See my eye witness sketch is below. Do some internet searches and find even one report by a forest service biologist that mentions or even focuses on bigfoot. One of the forest service's duties is to study and protect wildlife during logging operations. You as a taxpayer are still being kept in the dark when if comes to bigfoot? How do you feel about this dilemma? What is your opinion? Should I have quit the forest service? Are we being kept in the dark? My sighting is below.

Hey MIB thanks for the in-depth description of the bigfoot trap that sounds like it was up the Applegate canyon somewhere. It good to hear some accurate history. I was raised in Medford, and headed up to the Applegate River to swim and explore during the summers especially in 1965 when I was a senior in high school. Later after I graduated from the U of O in Eugene, my past wife and I hiked a trail beginning close to the river and went up and over the mountain to the Oregon Caves before I knew about bigfoot. If someone wants to study bigfoot that would be a good area for the event. As far as crossing Interstate 5 highway, if bigfoots are smart which they seem to be they would cross at night when there is no traffic. There are also reports of them crossing highways when there is traffic so who knows how they think. Why do you think the Forest Service refuses to publish studies on bigfoot when they hire many credentialed wildlife biologist? Their job is to set aside land for logging and to look out for the well being of forest animals. Skilled foresters and wildlife biologist hired by the forest service could make logging and bigfoot compatible. After a clear cut, the deer flock in to eat the tender leaves off the brush which is a win win situation. Hunters might have a greater negative impact on bigfoots and drive bigfoots into roadless mountains where food is more scarce. During the Fall when bigfoots need to fatten up for winter they are driven away from the low lands where deer, elk and moose are feeding on nutritious leaves. What are your thoughts? How long will it take before someone captures or shoots a male and female bigfoot that will tie down discovery? How can discovery be speeded up?
