    Bigfoot myth or monster?

Did Patty choose to not run away because it might have been pride since she is more human than a deer or bear that run away. Maybe bigfoots can hate and other animals can't hate. Maybe Patty and all bigfoots have pride and don't run from the little primate that tears up their forest with heavy equipment and bring down deer, elk, and bear with the bang stick that makes loud noises and smokes. Maybe bigfoots have pride and don't like being pushed around and have their hunting grounds torn up my heavy machines that smoke. Maybe bigfoots know when things are not fair and have the ability to hate. Wouldn't that be sad if we Americans are not so great because we make bigfoot's lives more difficult, mostly ignore them, and rather than helping them, the American government calls them a mythical creature.

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

^^^^ Patty walked away. Why Why did Patty walk away. Probably for the same reason any animal seems to walk away when encountered. If Patty was a deer, we probably wouldn't say, "She was leading us away from her young" It might be enough to accept the deer just trotted off and that is that. Because Patty looks human, we attribute higher reasoning. A Bigfoot creature may be able to have higher reason. It is not a requirement when we are describing Patty's actions limited to what we see in the PGF. What we see on the film is what we see. Do we really need Patty to be a higher animal who knows about Cameras, Guns, and so on? Sure, there might be consideration of survival outside of the PGF to consider. But again, limited to what we can see in the PGF that is not the case.

  7. Indeed, I do. First of all, if my memory serves me correctly, the feds did not get involved at all, even though the incident occurred in a National Forest. The only official response was from California Fish and Wildlife. Secondly, The official response came subtle and rather late in the game. The department waited until the online furor was well established and Smeja and his partner had posted quite a bit of "testimony". Finally, they showed up at his door. We can safely assume they had checked both men out against their records and knew if they did or did not have the proper licenses and permits to harvest a bear, and if they'd either had past brushes with the law. Then their investigation began like so many do these days with a visit and questions with primarily serve as a perjury trap. I'm also quite confident that after talking with the men, they paid a visit to the site.

  11. I am a firm believer in logging. And reducing the fuel load on public forests. Its a shame that the Forest service tried to hide it from the public who obviously doesn’t understand wild land fire behavior. They unfortunately only understand it when their house burns down. Which is the inevitable result of bad policy decisions decades earlier. Deer and Elk also love the young browse that comes after a logging operation or a burn. The forest floor receives more light allowing younger plants and different species to thrive. But should you have quit? In the words of John Wayne? A man outta do what he thinks is right! The government is a giant bureaucracy. Anyone who has worked for them should understand. Anyone who doesn’t probably thinks it is ran like a business. It is not. There are secret agendas and public PR campaigns that don't always align. I don’t pay attention to much noise. Just the results. And if your forest is burning down around your ears each year? Somebody is not doing their job.

If your right? That was pretty ballsy behavior. Bob Gimlin pulled a .30-06 rifle from his scabbard. And most Cowboys would have dumped her where she stood in 1967. Bob certainly could have if he had wanted to. And I am not trying to throw shade on anyone’s experience. But I don't think it’s a either or question. I think they are curious and I think they are masters of the woods. But I also do not think they are infallible either. Just my .02 cents.

Or, instead of hiding, Patty waited for them: more interest in the horses than humans / do a 'lead away maneuver' for any observing offspring to demonstrate human behavior. We will never know. Sasquatch found me.
  16. Around 3 a.m., four workers on Vancouver Island’s West Coast Trail woke to something pounding against their remote cabin. They were too frightened to turn on a light. Their inspection the next morning left them with another mystery. In Bigfoot Society Episode 1210, Jeremiah Byron hears firsthand accounts from people describing unexplained encounters across North America. A West Virginia witness recalls opening his bedroom curtain as a child and finding a figure roughly three feet away. An Alabama deer hunter describes a missing gut pile, a snapping branch behind him, and a massive gray creature moving through Bankhead Forest. From heavy footsteps outside a Utah tent to strange activity on a secluded Oregon ranch, these witnesses share the details that have stayed with them for years. What did those four workers hear outside their cabin? Listen to their account and what they discovered in daylight. 19. Thanks for the reply Huntster and the Forest Service does not recognize bigfoot as being a living animal, and they call it mythical creature. It's probably against the law to shoot any animal that is not shown in any state or federal hunting regulations. Do you remember the Justin Smeja case where he supposedly shot and killed a bigfoot in California. Seems like he got in trouble with the law. Maybe someone on the forum can explain what happened.

Howdy all....hope everyone had a great summer.....getting caught up on some pics, the semi draught we were in ended in the Spring, lots of rain and the Sotol plants the Hairyman loves were tender enough to eat again, several pics of that, they scape the inner tender leaves with their teeth like an artichoke......where's the butter! Also they will chew it too and spit it out along their trails that we share, me during the day, them at night.
  22. I think they already do. My hunting regulations in Alaska specifically prohibit the hunting of any "animal" that is not specifically listed with an open season. Granted, that is a state regulation, but hunting on federal lands here sometimes include more restrictions, especially hunting methods and access restrictions. There are some reports of hunters shooting a Bigfoot, the are rare and tend to be in years long past.

  24. The forest service should manage bigfoot, so logging, hunting and bigfoot are ruled by law and protected. It can be done with some determination. The Kennewick man was an archaeological problem and bigfoot is a biological and forest issue and the forest service has many wildlife biologist who can handle protection of a new species. They need to get off their rear ends and do it.

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

As mentioned, camping under the stars in an area with many bigfoot reports is a good way to see a bigfoot. However, many parts of Oregon are not getting many class A bigfoot observations like this one that I will publish which is old and outdated. My theory is bigfoot is a true endangered species and not a myth as the forest service claims. If proven to be endangered, logging does not have to be reduced which is why the forest service has taken little effort to use their biologist to prove the existence of bigfoot. Logging brings in deer to eat the new brush springing up after timber clear cuts and which probably enables bigfoot to survive. Hunters probably disrupt bigfoot's ability to survive by driving bigfoots from prime deer feeding grounds. The forest service and BLM should track and determine where populations of bigfoots are located and direct the game commission to reduce hunting in those areas. We simply don't know how close to extinction bigfoots are due to records that are not kept by our agencies that manage logging. Bigfoot populations were probably thriving when native American hunted the forest lands and lived on the plains. Now these lands are overrun by people of European descent who build forest roads, and issue hundreds of deer, elk, mountain goat, and bear tags which probably hampers bigfoots ability to survive. The forest service and BLM should determine which areas bigfoot does not inhabit so hunting permits can be issued in those areas. Now read on of the few bigfoot eyewitness reports coming from Oregon that is the most up to date but still very old. This one of the most recent reports dating back to 2002 which helps make bigfoot an endangered species candidate. YEAR: 2002 SEASON: Fall MONTH: December DATE: dec.17 STATE: Oregon COUNTY: Umatilla County LOCATION DETAILS: It was here at the house. NEAREST TOWN: Pilot Rock NEAREST ROAD: 395 MP16 OBSERVED: I heard something funny while running my computer. Out the back window --- I saw a bigfoot looking at me!! --- I said hello (to him?) but he just turned away and went out toward the field. An update from John (12/20/02)--I went around the place and did find a footprint on the bank behind the house. It was pointing toword the house and I took a tape and it was 16" long with it being 6/7" wide and on the heel. I could see dermal ridges.

  27. A campsite with a fire and cooking is a good way to attract a bigfoot rather than walking around searching for it. One has a chance to see a Sasquatch because bigfoot is curious and may sit while hidden and watch the activities. Bigfoots live in the deep forest where animals are plentiful so let bigfoot find you. Campers have a much better chance of seeing a bigfoot, a hoofed animal, or a bear. BFRO has lots of bigfoot evidence reports, but many parts of states go a long time before an actual sighting report is filed. Most reports are class two or three meaning bigfoot was not seen but signs of forest use were observed. Bigfoots also do their best to avoid humans probably because they witness humans tearing up their habitat with heavy equipment and clear-cutting forest. They watch game animals being shot by hunters which probably makes them wary of humans. If bigfoots were ever discovered and were no longer a myth as the forest service has them classified, they probably have a good chance to be on the endangered species list. I have lived in Oregon my entire life, am 79, and have spent plenty of time in the forest or along rivers. I have seen plenty of deer, a few elk, and a least 5 bears. Most Oregonians never see a bigfoot then one day my luck changed roughly on my 40th birthday. During a moon lit night, I saw a bigfoot sneaking around our campsite while we slept out in the open. You can see my bigfoot sketch on the other thread I started. As mentioned before, camping is probably the best way to see a bigfoot. Camp out in a remote forest that has many BFRO reports, sleep under the stars, and hang some food from a tree. Leave the dog in the car at night, don't shoot guns, and carry on with your normal routine. Your luck may change.
