  6. Mike Wanders has spent years traveling alone into some of North America’s most remote wilderness, searching the places where Sasquatch reports refuse to disappear. In this episode, Mike joins Bigfoot Society to share what happened during his expeditions into Vancouver Island, Bluff Creek, Mt. Hood, Prince of Wales Island, the Hockomock Swamp, and other legendary locations. Deep in Clayoquot Sound, a water taxi left Mike alone beside an abandoned cabin surrounded by old-growth rainforest. As darkness settled over the cove, the atmosphere changed. Hours later, something enormous moved over the treetops. Mike also reveals the one experience he considers his strongest possible Bigfoot activity, including sounds captured on audio in an extraordinarily remote section of Vancouver Island. Then there's Prince of Wales Island, Alaska—where nearly everyone Mike spoke with seemed to have a story. This conversation goes deep into what happens when an experienced wilderness traveler enters some of the most active Sasquatch locations in North America and starts asking one question: What is actually happening out there? Bigfoot myth or monster?

GO TAKE A BIOLOGY CLASS! You’re talking out your donkey…. Type Specimens 1) Holotype (Species anchor) 2) Allotype (The opposite sex of the Holotype) 3) Paratypes (extra specimens of the same species) 4) Syntypes (when no Holotype was chosen by error) Nothing I have told you is some personal version. It’s what I have read and what I have asked from scientists. If you would like to educate yourself in basic biology and discuss? I will be right here! As far as majestic? Yah I think Bigfoot absolutely belongs with Elephants, Giraffes and Mountain Gorillas with their own scientific classification. They DO NOT belong with Pixies, Gnomes and Hobgoblins in the mythological section at Barnes and Noble.🤷‍♂️

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

I'm talking in circles?? That's ripe. One minute you say it doesn't matter as long as Science gets a complete male and a complete female Sasquatch, then you say Science just needs a type specimen? Again, a type specimen can be (and often is) a body part recovered post-mortem. Only your personal version of Science requires two complete Sasquatch skeletons. "As far as semantics? I guess I have a Bigfoot hypothesis then…..no feelings anywhere." That takes the cake because 1.) you are trying to reduce Science to semantics which is basically the opposite, and 2.) no feelings anywhere? geez Why is it always Bigfoot ripping my arms off? I'm not advocating hunting down a potentially breeding pair, you are. "You on the other hand LOTS OF FEELINGS when it comes to killing “majestic animals” in the name of science!" Correct. When you quote "majestic animals" do you feel as though Bigfoot are not majestic? They're just another every day 10 foot tall human-like Ape I guess.. No big deal.

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

Correct. So according to you? I am “villainizing” all these animals. So that science is justified in taking a type specimen.🙄 The point is? Is you talk in circles until your asking me what point I AM trying to make……🤷‍♂️ The point I made back aways is that Bigfoot may rip your arms off and beat you with them. That obviously hit a nerve with you. But now you say every animal on the planet does it. Including spiders and squirrels….. Ok? As far as semantics? I guess I have a Bigfoot hypothesis then…..no feelings anywhere. You on the other hand LOTS OF FEELINGS when it comes to killing “majestic animals” in the name of science!😭 11.6 million specimens….. Are you gonna start a petition or something?

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

"If you’re trying to kill one? Yah I think they could be very lethal to a human." Same with a chimp, same with a dog, same with a Black Widow, what point are you trying to make? If you attack a squirrel and it can't get away, it will try to kill you. 'Science makes assumptions all the time. Its called a hypothesis." Nope. 'An assumption is a belief or idea that is taken for granted without sufficient evidence or proof. Unlike a hypothesis, an assumption is not testable or falsifiable.' Look it up if you don't believe me. You are correct that Science does not care about my feelings and, likewise, it does not care about your feelings either. Science does care about strict adherence to Scientific Methods which, although they may change, do not at any time permit personal interpretations. Have a great night. 8^)

They are impressive. I watched one digging for Rock Chucks. He was moving some material with that big rippling hump.

I've never watched a bear drag anything away, but have run across lots of their buried treasures (I really don't like that.........). But one of the most impressive things I've seen (more than once) is a grizzly running for its life as I entered the valley or area (they heard or smelled me/us coming).........especially in the fall when they're fat and their fur is thickening for winter, and their hide moves like Patty's in the PGF. Bears can really cover territory!

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

If you’re trying to kill one? Yah I think they could be very lethal to a human. Again how is that “villianizing” Bigfoot? You brought up mountain Gorillas. And I said Bigfoot cannot be a mountain Gorilla because of where they live. They cannot eat green leaves in winter in the Rocky mountains. No Bigfoot is definitely NOT just another great Ape unless of course you include Humans. So I don't see where I contradicted myself? Science makes assumptions all the time. Its called a hypothesis. Which is an assumption based on the available evidence. No known Primate hibernates. Thats a fact. Bigfoot is a primate based on morphology of observed traits. So its safe to assume Bigfoot does NOT hibernate. Again? Science doesn’t care about your feelings. And it does work, every day of the year. To the tune of 11.6 million specimens just in the Smithsonian ALONE. (thats a-lot of bones) You can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. Take care.

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

You have suggested many times that they are prone to ripping people's arms off and then beating people to death with their own arms? In one sentence you equate them as just another animal, with the same habits, diet, etc. as other non-human apes and then in the next sentence you say we are not dealing with 'just another animal'. You know their temperament, their diet, the way they hunt and basically seem to consider them to be almost just like a giant chimp. You really don't know if they hibernate, or not, right? Science tends to avoid assumptions, Norse. It does matter to some of us how they die, just not to you. Many type specimens are parts of animals, definitely not complete skeletons of both male and female. Your mileage obviously varies, but invoking 'Science' as if those who disagree just don't get it, doesn't work.

How far have you seen Griz pack something? I remember a story of a California Griz killing a bull (cattle) and packing it quite a distance. This would have been in the late 1800s. Impressive.

Not to mention up and over mountains from one drainage to another. But I've witnessed wild animals (specifically bears and caribou) do that, both at a trot and full run.

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

If anyone clicked on the Smithsonian link I provided? It says it has 11.6 MILLION type specimen files available. And this is just one museum system in a global network of museums! I am NOT trying to sell anyone on a IDEA. This point needs to be driven home hard. This IS the scientific system we live in…. This is reality. Now? A person can disagree with it or make me a villain because I am simply pointing it out? But it wont change a thing. Because science within the confines of biology is literally built on the bones of animals! If Bigfoot is a living creature and not some alien built robot from the 6 million dollar man? It will fall into this system….. 🤷🏻‍♂️ It doesn't matter if it dies from being shot by a hunter, hit by a logging truck, falls off a cliff or a lucky researcher gets a DNA sample. How ever it is proven to science they will take specimens as it is a extant species. It walks among us today.
