  4. For years, she watched the same signs repeat themselves across Ontario—footprints appearing where they shouldn’t, structures forming overnight, and locations that seemed to connect like a hidden corridor through parks, ravines, and public land. In this episode of Bigfoot Society, Anna, an Ontario-based Sasquatch researcher breaks her silence to describe what long-term exposure reveals that single encounters never do. Seasonal patterns. Juvenile and adult track sizes found together. X-structures placed with intent—and removed just as quickly. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 5. From the Rocky Mountains of northern Utah to the deep hollers of the Tennessee Smokies, something has been there the whole time. In this episode, Brad shares a lifetime of experiences that began as a child in the foothills above Huntsville Valley, Utah, followed him into the remote bow-hunting areas near Curtis Creek and Lost Creek, and continues today on an off-grid property deep in eastern Tennessee. What starts as a strange daytime observation in Utah turns into nighttime activity, unexplained movement through hunting camps, a violent disturbance near a parked truck, and one of the most aggressive vocalizations ever described on the show — heard from just outside a remote campsite. Now living completely off-grid, Brad documents ongoing activity around his Tennessee property: altered access routes, unnatural tree damage, persistent forest sounds, and an area of land that feels intentionally closed off. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 8. This article, published in The Times-News of Twin Falls (ID) on April 14, 1910 provides some interesting information about the size of Bigfoot's feet. The attached paper by the Idaho State Historical Society notes that this Native American, Ouluck, stood 7 feet tall. NOTE: Ouluck, aka Bigfoot, is not the same individual as Lakota chief Si Tanka, also known as Bigfoot and namesake for several locations in the western United States. 0236.pdf

Skepticism in the world of bigfoot, in and of itself, is a healthy and necessary trait. Until someone plops a body or part thereof onto an examination table, it's all sus (suspect). Trogluddite's excellent above post said it well. I, too, consider myself a skeptical believer. But, hoo boy, there are LOTS of issues with what's taken for "bigfoot canonical lore." (Hey, I coined a new phrase!) Let's face it: Us bigfoot proponents can't blame disbelievers any too much. The biological necessities make it difficult to explain how enormous, bipedal primates can make a living without revealing their immediate whereabouts that should lead to their discovery. So rather than grouse about those darned skeptics, realize just how much we're asking the general public to accept on faith. Footprints? Great. Shouldn't a skilled tracker be able to follow them to their source? Tree structures? Like Norse, and I'm not speaking for him, but I ain't buying it. Extremely circumstantial. The amount of daily caloric intake necessary to sustain a five-hundred lb. primate should leave traceable effects on the environment, and along with their footprint impressions, reveal their location to a tracker. These are some of the nuts and bolts that fuel good, honest skepticism. I don't think it's fair to criticize someone for that. What we skeptical (and hopeful) proponents dwell on are the compelling first-hand accounts, recordings of calls and chatter of unknown sources, and a handful of films/videos, especially the renowned Patty (she's a rockstar!) So here's to skeptical, hopeful belief.

I consider myself very much a skeptic in that I'm a skeptical believer. I'm probably much harsher on many aspects of Bigfoot, and even have heretical beliefs on some things regarded as canon law. I have lots of reasons to doubt the accounts provided by some people/websites/witnesses. But I have no reason to doubt the accounts provided by others. While those accounts alone can't demonstrate the existence of Bigfoot to a scientific standard, they should cause reasonable people to be open-minded on the subject. As Norse says, the skeptics that pop up here often are anything but open minded.
  15. John Green (RIP) was, for newer Bigfoot researchers, one of the earliest people to chronicle Sasquatch/Bigfoot encounters and to collect, collate, and analyze data from witness descriptions of encounters. He graciously made his database available to Forums members and gave the Forums permission to use his materials. This article was printed in the Journal of Scientific Exploration (see https://www.journalofscientificexploration.org/index.php/jse) but is not available in their archives. The Journal encourage research librarians to list their free, open access journal among a library's electronic journal holdings and I am happy to do so here. Their online archive goes back to 2010 and appears to include a wildly eclectic mix of topics (UAPs, ghosts, mystery underground structures) which I'm sure many here will enjoy. But this virtual library is for Bigfoot stuff. Historical Overview and Basic Facts Involved in the Sasquatch...pdf

I think what you’re describing as a skeptic, the BFF traditionally would call a “scofftic”. We used to have many. Basically they got their jollies by coming on here and calling us idiots everyday. Maybe not in so many words. But demanding absolute proof and scoffing at any evidence offered. I am skeptical of tree structures and a few other supposed attributes of the mythical creature. But as I have seen tracks? I am very open minded that something still exists out there. With the caveat that we are still on the hook to provide proof that it’s real.

The term "skeptic" drives me nuts. It's used by uninformed people who think they're smarter than rubes who believe things science has yet to figure out. It implies we hear something, and then just immediately believe it. When I hear someone say they're a skeptic, I automatically assume they're an idiot.
  23. A night hiker in Vermont realizes something is matching his every step in the dark. In Ohio, a father and son follow signs they can’t explain inside a state park with a long history of activity. Deep in the woods of Missouri, a camper documents repeated disturbances around his tent that push him to stay live through the night. And somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains, a roadside encounter ends in a last-second escape. 24. Published in The Herald Statesman of Yonkers, New York, on August 23, 1921; story included in Bigfoot Encounters in New York & New England by Robert and Paul Bartholomew. They distinguish this series of encounters from a later series reported in November newspapers (see the earlier post) but I'm not so sure. The towns involved were a mere 12 miles apart and the encounters lasted for anywhere from two to four months. This could easily be one Bigfoot settling down in an area with adequate food and water. The location is in Franklin County, New York, on the north shoulders of the Adirondacks.

  27. This was originally released as Episode 501 on 8/18/24. For nearly six years, something has been active on Ginger’s land in Overton County, Tennessee. What began as strange noises and moved trees grew into repeated encounters that never truly stopped. In this episode, Ginger shares a long-term account involving tracks near the creek, large handprints on vehicles, figures moving through the shadows, vocal mimicry, and activity on rooftops. She describes changes in behavior over time, interactions that suggest multiple individuals, and moments that made it clear she was not alone on her property. This is a deep, firsthand conversation about living alongside something intelligent, observant, and deeply tied to the land. Locations across Overton County come into focus as patterns emerge, offering listeners a rare look at ongoing Bigfoot activity rather than a single encounter. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 28. The first story below was published in the Lynchburg (VA) Daily Virginian on May 3, 1860; it is the earliest mention of a Windigo (or Wendigo or Windago) I found on Newspapers.com apart from three stories in 1789 that named a Chief Windigo as one of the signers of a treaty with the young United States. A short summary of the Red River colony and Selkirk can be found at https://www.britannica.com/place/Red-River-Settlement. It's an interesting part of Canadian history. The second story appears to be a different incident; it was published in the Ebensburg (PA) Democrat and Sentinel on September 12, 1860. It is unclear whether either account is based on actual events or are examples of yellow journalism.
