    The Bigfoot harvest.

It's interesting. I saw a documentary some years ago - 'Bigfoot files' - it was a UK documentary regarding Brian Sykes' investigation of DNA, which had an episode looking mainly at Zana with other considerations of Almasty. I don't know if you could see it in the US but it's quite interesting if you can, and has contributions from Igor Burtsev, who excavated the grave, and from Zana's descendants. The conclusion, as you say, is that she was human (with the usual 2-4% Neanderthal DNA that almost all European/Asians have). The interesting part was that it concluded that she would have been West African. Hypertrichosis is what has been suggested as an explanation of excessive hair, which has been proven to occur sometimes as a result of hormonal changes from hunger and deprivation. An African (possibly an escaped or shunned slave from the recent Ottoman Empire) with Hypertrichosis could explain the appearance and DNA. Again, the difficult thing is weeding the scientific evidence from the anecdotal, given that Zana wasn't studied until 70+ years after she died and that the descriptions come from individuals who saw her as children over 70 years previously. Whilst open to the idea that Bigfoot is a very close relation to homo sapiens, I do question how Zana would fit into that. The DNA evidence put forth to support Bigfoot is DNA that is very close to but not quite human - unknown primate. Zana was confirmed as 100% human. If Bigfoot is 100% human, how would one account for the extreme discrepancy in size -height and girth - differences in reported facial features, mid tarsal break etc etc.? And if there is a difference in DNA, which to my mind there must be however closely linked, then one species couldn't change their DNA in order to become the other

    The Bigfoot harvest.

Interesting story. Thanks for the video. It's a genuine shame that the more interesting stories happened so far back, and therefore investigated less thoroughly.

    RIP Dr Jeff Meldrum

I agree. I'm thinking the good doctor is truly a "knower" at this point .

    RIP Dr Jeff Meldrum

I can’t help but imagine him enthusiastically questioning Roger Patterson right now.

    Jeffrey Meldrum passing

Yes, and there's a thread honoring the Doctor already started.

After seeing the abdominal area cut across the right leg on debates of this there’s no unseeing it. This was the right leg.
  10. Have seen what look like creditable obituaries that Prof. Jeffrey Meldrum has died of brain cancer. Very shocked to read this. Did anyone else know of his illness?

    Missing 411

I haven't, but I did visit the site of a missing friend (and at the invitation of the Alaska State Troopers with a request to search a particular area). It was a classic Alaskan disappearance, and his remains were eventually found..........although in a spot where he should have been found by initial search parties.
  14. Unless it's an M-14, it isn't going to be portable to carry around for protection from sasquatches while simultaneously of an effective caliber..............although there are cases in Alaska of people killing bears with AR-15's in 5.56x45. https://alaskapublic.org/news/2019-01-16/polar-bear-encounter-reported-in-arctic-village-many-miles-south-of-normal-range (Note; the above story appears to have become a matter of hidden information almost immediately for unknown reasons.........I'll note the involvement of the feds..........)
  15. They haven't come for the pre-1986 machine guns. They're still legally possessed.
  16. In the aftermath of the heartbreaking loss of Dr. Jeff Meldrum, we'd like to share this episode of our bonus show ("Beyond Bigfoot & Beyond"), originally recorded and released in March of 2023. Dr. Meldrum was a true pioneer in the field, and was a dear friend to Cliff and Bobo. He will be missed, and our hearts are with his friends and family. Listen to the Podcast
  17. Correct to a point. To be precise, in 1934 automatic firearms were no longer legal to possess without paying a tax and possessing a permit, and 1986 was the last year of automatic weapon manufacture which could be owned. This is more a legal closing of possession than government actually "coming for" them. I submit that the legal strangling is in every way an "infringement". I do understand and agree with the legal principle of registering and regulating ordnance and crew-served weaponry. We just can't allow every Joe Blow to have hand grenades, artillery pieces, or belt-fed machine guns. I'm not sure that a select fire rifle qualifies as such a weapon, but (after a century of fighting crime with such weapons involved), I consider it a struggle beyond my influence. I don't need an automatic rifle, and I am not interested in buying and stocking the quantity of ammunition such a rifle can burn up,. I've fired machine guns, and it was fun, but Uncle Sugar paid for every bit of it (even paying me to do it). I'm not going to invest in it.

Great videos PNWexplorer and BC witness. The views are magnificant and the approaches to the area amazing. It underscores how fortunate you both are to be sasquatching in the wilderness areas you go. Kindly keep up the great work you're doing.

That is very surprising and sad. He was a pioneer and quintessential professional dedicated to bigfoot research. RIP.

I disagree. I say that’s the right leg. But the point I am making is that the head and shoulder are entirely different on the Bear. And I do agree that the Jacobs creature lines up nicely with a Chimp.
  23. Published in The Akron (OH) Beacon Journal on July 29, 1985. Don Keating begins making his mark on the Bigfoot World. And I realize that 1985 is stretching the definition of "historical" but it 40 years now. I'm sure that some Forum members weren't alive then!
  24. Published in The Rock Hill (SC) Herald on June 20, 1900. Aside from the question of how a man survives having his nose and one hand caught in separate wolf traps and lives to tell about, the wild man is covered in hair and has nails on his hands and feet like talons of an eagle. One has to wonder if those questioning the wild man heard words where just guttural sounds were uttered.
  25. As I've already noted.
  26. Published in The Orangeburg (SC) Times and Democrat on February 7, 1900. There are several Mount Washington's in the United States but I see no way of distinguishing which was the scene of this story. The determination that the wild man was from South America seems suspect.
  27. But they have come for the machine guns. Specifically in 1934 and 1986 The Firearm Owners' Protection Act (FOPA) of 1986 "The Act also contained a provision that banned the sale to civilians of machine guns manufactured after the date of enactment, restricting sales of these weapons to the military and law enforcement. Thus, in the ensuing years, the limited supply of these arms available to civilians has caused an enormous increase in their price, with most costing in excess of $10,000. Regarding these fully-automatic firearms owned by private citizens in the U.S., political scientist Earl Kruschke said "approximately 175,000 automatic firearms have been licensed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (the federal agency responsible for administration of the law) and evidence suggests that none of these weapons has ever been used to commit a violent crime."
