There’s a long history of alleged Bigfoot samples showing modern human DNA. Were those all the result of contamination?
-
Obviously security would still be in place. With lethal means to defend the sample taker if the situation went south. Hopefully “Patty” would just keep walking and after she left the scene we go collect the dart. She wasn’t harmed and we have her genome.
-
Very much. The biopsy dart is only taking a flesh sample. Its not injecting anything into the target. It leaves a small wound that will quickly heal after the dart falls out or is pulled out. Scientists use both crossbows and pneumatic air guns depending on the application.

I Didn’t Know Sasquatch Were in Wisconsin - Bigfoot Eyewitness Episode 479
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio
Tonight’s guest, Titus, grew up in Southern Wisconsin and had his Sasquatch sighting about 20 years ago. He had his sighting while he was at a hobby farm a friend of his mother owned. Joining Titus and his mother was one of Titus’ siblings. Even though his mother and that sibling were merely 50 feet away from him, when he saw the Sasquatch, calling out to them never crossed his mind. He was so gob smacked, due to the experience, trying to bring their attention to the Sasquatch he was staring at was something he never considered doing. As fate would have it, years later, two of his siblings had their own sightings too. On tonight’s show, Titus is not only going to be sharing the details of his sighting, he’s going to share the details of the sightings his siblings had too. We hope you listen to him do that. Some people are leary of any tranquilizing dart as the dosage is unknown at present-kill with too much or be killed with too little. Is a biopsy dart any different? Or without a tranquilizer, how do you remove a dart from a dangerous animal?

What do you think of the US Forest Service's view on bigfoot?
norseman replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
It wasn’t mean to degrade you in anyway. Your opinion is a popular one, trust me. What would it change? Much. Well for starters it would shut up all the nay sayers that make fun of the topic. It would also be a stark warning for anyone that ventures outdoors. 411 books? Don’t hike alone. Don’t wear bright colors. Etc. I also think it would be profound for humanity to suddenly realize we are not the only species in our genus. If it plays out that way. That a bipedal relative still shares the planet with us? Science would study this for the next 100 years. Official scientific recognition would also bring about profound changes in resource extraction on public lands. There would be environmental impact studies that would come about because of this discovery. A 800 lbs primate in North America would make the spotted owl pale by comparison. And the bottom line is that it would expand human knowledge. If science can miss this? What else are we missing? What’s in our oceans? Our cave systems? Under the poles? Our jungles? Maybe this discovery would light a fire in humanity’s belly to get out and explore Mother Nature. We have become a species of electronic alternative reality. And it’s not a good thing IMHO. -

Well. That sure puts me in my place! Lather rinse repeat. However, you didn't answer what official recognition would change for you. -
I took a interest in those blood samples too! Very interesting. I know many in our community do not think that TV show is legit. But with a real scientist as a member and all of the DNA sampling? I hold out hope. I don't know if I ran this past you before. But what if we used biopsy darts? People are squeamish about killing one, but many researchers claim full on sightings? What if we developed a biopsy dart kit for researchers? It would beat dental resin and grainy videos all to heck in terms of real hard evidence?
-
I agree on the body part. Expedition Bigfoot collected blood samples that showed human-like DNA, distinct from known animals. The scientist, Christina Burns of FIU, promised to sequence these. Can't wait for the results next season. My work is not as definitive for existence of Bigfoot, only suggestive like footprints and vocalizations. I will be working with the lab to sequence the control region at greater number of bases.

We need a body or a part of one. You’re speaking my language! I found the electromagnetic search for corpses fascinating. Definitely not on my radar.

If you had a brain tumor? Would you rather go to a state of the art brain medical center that specializes in tumors? Or would you rather be transported back in time to a cave and a witch doctor? Who is going to give you better care and why? The WHY is science…. And it touches us everyday in ways we cannot even begin to fathom. Scientific facts are not opinions. And facts are built upon theories. If we believe that Sasquatch exist in our forests? We don’t stop there. We must prove they exist. Otherwise that belief is no better than believing that Dragons and Pixies live in our forests. Humans are apes. So Sasquatch undoubtedly is an unclassified forest ape. The question is how closely related they are to Homo Sapiens? We won’t know that until we have a specimen to study. But my hunch is that they will be much closer related to us than a Chimpanzee which is our closest living relative. But that could be wrong. Maybe Sasquatch is more closely related to Orangutans and evolved bipedalism independently from our own African lineage. We simply do not know. Which is why science, facts and knowledge are so important to the world we live in. -

Thanks for your encouraging remarks, Kiwakwe. You are a true visionary. If and when my paper is published I will post the link the RHI here.

I submitted a paper to RHI last November, but it's still in peer review. In the meantime, here is a YouTube video of my presentation at the Kiamichi Mountains Bigfoot Conference in May: The first few slides, omitted here, were about DNA and the microphone was not on and so were not recorded her. Nothing new in them that you probably don't already know.

What do you think of the US Forest Service's view on bigfoot?
Silverback Sax replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Just my opinion, ok. They exist. I have not witnessed one, but I'll take the word of thousands of everyday folks who have reported their experiences. I'll accept that every Aboriginal/First Nations/Native clan/tribe across the globe has an oral history of these creatures going back centuries. I believe all the governments, forest service, BLM, NASA, CIA, FBI, etc already know about the forest people. I believe they already have specimens from the eruption of Mt. St. Helens. I do not believe they are an unclassified forest ape. I believe they are much closer to people than that. I believe that "truth" that public acknowledgment would bring would shake the foundation of humanity beyond imagination. I believe in some of what's been called "woo". I also believe that a body or photo will never be accepted as proof. I don't need ANYONE to confirm any of that, because I believe. So my question to all of you is this: What would public governmental acknowledgment actually do for you? Why does anyone else's opinion matter when it comes to you believe? - Yesterday

I Know I'm Beating A Dead Horse But Bigfoot Deserves Better

Sure, since I'll also be known as the "guy who really discovered Sasquatch". I don't think anyone has ever accomplished such a feat. Killing two birds with one stone. 😁 -

I already explained why what I said was a fact. Throwing insults at me doesn't change anything. Saying that it's just my opinion and that it's arrogant for me to publicly post it, eventhough you yourself publicly admitted to being the case, is dishonest on your part. Want to see my evidence? Odds Bigfoot exists? For those gamblers out there, I thought this might be interesting. I am not a gambler, so I don't know what -225 or +150 really mean. When people tell us what they think, they may speak of pure passion but not on fact. Example might be "The Jets are winning the Superbowl" But when we bet it more telling what we really think will happen. When money is on the line it clarifies and makes our opinion more honest. Thus, the guy who says the Jets will win the Superbowl are more likely to say, "The Chiefs or Eagles will win it" if betting is on the line. For what is worth I stumbled across this....... Does Bigfoot really exist, or is it all an urban legend? Is there any chance of the mystical creature ever being found? We are examining the latest betting odds that Bigfoot exists and making some wacky predictions on whether Sasquatch will be discovered. Online bookmakers have released intriguing Bigfoot prop bets on the prospect of finding the elusive creature, so let’s dive in below to see different perspectives! Odds That Bigfoot Exists: What the Bookies Think The following Bigfoot betting odds are courtesy of BetUS: PROP BET ODDS Bigfoot to Be Found in the US -225 Bigfoot to Be Found in Canada +150 Bigfoot to Be Found in 2025 +30000 The best entertainment betting sites have released a number of betting markets on the discovery of Bigfoot. Currently, BetUS has three prop bets available, which give bettors an opportunity to cash in on Sasquatch’s whereabouts! According to the latest odds of finding Bigfoot, the species is most likely to be found in the United States. With a price of -225, there is a 69.2% implied probability of Bigfoot being found on US land. Despite Canada having a large landmass, the odds of Bigfoot existing in Canada isn’t as high at +150. In other words, BetUS has tabbed Canada as having a 40% implied chance of finding Bigfoot. In addition to having a larger landmass, Canada has 9% of the world’s forests (362 million hectares), while the US has 8% (304 million hectares) coverage. If Bigfoot exists, the creatures are more likely to be hanging out in the forest, far away from human civilization. Although the North American Bigfoot Center is in Boring, OR, the best value is on Bigfoot being found in Canada’s Pacific Northwest! It’s highly unlikely the creature would be setting up its home near any national center dedicated to itself. With this in mind, if you are interested in betting on this unique Bigfoot prop bet, I recommend Canada at +150. As an aside, at +30000 odds, there is just a 0.3% implied probability of Bigfoot being discovered in 2025. While a lot of crazy events have been happening around the world, I’m not optimistic about humans finding Bigfoot in 2025. You can find the most up-to-date odds of Bigfoot being real at BetUS by navigating to Sportsbook > Novelty > Mysteries > Big Foot.
