Hello, I have been interested in Bigfoot since I was a kid, often imagining them as a natural evolution of one or more ancient human species. I became convinced of their existence when I was camping in Utah and 2 subjects flanked our tent. The flank was proceeded by a large stone being thrown next to the tent and after listening to the cautious approach (bi-pedal footsteps), the subject on the right clacked their teeth or mimicked a rock clack with their mouth – clacking three time. This was immediately answered by the subject on the left who also clacked 3 times. In that instant when I heard the clacks, I knew, without a doubt, these creatures were highly intelligent. I’m here for more!

If government will go to these lengths to protect certain trees (especially just maintaining the secrecy/remoteness strategies), would they do likewise to protect a rare human sub-species? I think so............

GrayBear who lives in Trout Lake, Washington writes "I've attached a thermal video that I believe shows a female Sasquatch. If you watch the beginning of the video on a large screen, you may notice a smaller thermal signature appear on the left side of the tree. You can see what appears to be glowing eyes before the figure backs behind the tree. A moment later, the larger thermal signature emerges from the right side. A very large Sasquatch then bends down, and it appears that she may be picking something up. I refer to the larger figure as a female because of the apparent juvenile nearby. Pay close attention to the size and proportions of the figure especially the large arms, hands, thighs, and torso. I was also able to enlarge a still frame from the video, and I believe I may have captured what looks like a face. I've attached that still image as well. This occurred on Friday, May 1st. We returned to the area Saturday morning to review the site and found what appeared to be 15.6-inch footprints around the same tree where the Sasquatch was filmed. We went back again that night and experienced some additional high strangeness, including an X-shaped glyph that still has me completely baffled. Needless to say, it was quite a field-research weekend. Take a close look at the still image and let me know if you see what I'm seeing. Follow the arm upward toward the shoulder and neck area. From there, you may be able to make out what appears to be a face. To me, it looks like the nose is glowing, followed by what appear to be the eyes and an ear. I'd really like to hear what you think. We're getting ready to head back out into the Gifford for another couple of days of field research, this time with thermal drones and audio equipment. We've had some unusual audio activity in the area previously, so we're going back to see what happens during our night walks. Another field-research adventure is about to begin." I don't even insist on one. But I don't write the rules. But once discovery happens I would be for the most rigid protection for the species. Harming one would be a hanging offense in my book.

I've become a wuss. I don't even want to eat bear anymore. A friend gave me some bear sausage the other day, and it was gross. I'm spoiled, even with high meat prices. I've got the money now. Attach enough money to it, and they'll fall all over themselves to prove it.

Never mind. It occurs to me now that a captured Bigfoot would probably never be released. And, if a pair is required for classification, omg, what if they have 'kids' out there... : / I guess I don't want to be any part of the 'required proof'. Maybe I will see them in the woods someday (preferably with a few friends and some big guns (for protection only), just in case they attack. My 99.9% belief might then be confirmed and maybe we could sit around the camp-fire later with the Bigfeet and all sing Kumbaya.

Yep. I would probably eat it if I had to. It's legal to eat road-kill here although, I usually just go to the store. Although, with the cuts in food-safety (including a 19% reduction to the FDA work-force) a squished squirrel or, a drowned rat doesn't sound too bad right now.. I agree that Universities, most private companies, governments, etc. are not going to really get involved until Joe six-pack, wife and kids are convinced that they exist. 'Science' is often done by people who are unencumbered by those institutions. I don't know the best way to prove Bigfoot. I think one (or two, if Norse insists ) could be captured alive. I mean if we can capture elephants and whale sharks?? 🤷🏻‍♂️

No doubt, but Norse is correct that Science as an industry will simply not play ball until somebody delivers a carcass and essentially rubs their noses in it. And I submit that is just one of the reasons why government has decided that the best thing for them as a species is to remain a myth. And frankly, it's my opinion that aliens are science fiction, and Science (as an industry) is playing ball on that field because every base hit equals Big Money, government is managing game for spinoff technology, and the taxpayer plays because they have no choice.

Yes, I am confident saying that times are different now than they were in 1947. Getting worse? Let's be fair. If you are talking about inflation, Health and Human Services, the Environment, World opinion of the US, safety of American citizens, polarized politics, economic inequality, racism, ignorance, greed and stupidity then, yes those things have gotten a lot worse lately. If you are talking about Science, Military capability and intelligence then, no, those things are probably better. I'm glad that you don't want to kill and eat a Mountain Gorilla (I never really thought you did), but that is non sequitur. I understand that you want Bigfoot recognized as a legitimate species and I feel as though most of us here do. And, although you often tell me that feelings don't matter to Science, I tend to disagree because Scientists (like everyone else for the most part) are driven, at least in part, by their emotions which often compel them to do the right things.

Are times different? I think they are getting worse. For the record on pro kill? If you gave me a Mountain Gorilla kill tag I wouldn’t fill it. I have no plans to eat a primate any time soon. And they are much more interesting alive than dead. But I also want the species recognized as a legitimate species.

Ok, flash forward 80 years, times are different. 'Science' and the Military almost always do exactly what they are told to do, for better or worse. We just need good leadership.. "What benefits can a rare, forest dwelling, technology rejecting hominid provide mankind?" - Huntster I don't know that either, but I bet we could learn more from them if they are alive and not dead. Taking the high-road with extra-terrestrials visiting Earth did not work out too good in 'Mars Attacks', but I'm pretty sure that was Science Fiction.

What makes you think that hasn't already happened with government? What benefits can a rare, forest dwelling, technology rejecting hominid provide mankind? Maybe government knows they exist and are protecting them with dignity by keeping mankind ignorant of their existence? Indeed, people are arriving to that suspicion regarding extraterrestrials. Government knows, but is protecting mankind (instead of the primitive hominid) from their own behaviors by keeping the knowledge low key.

The scenario has allegedly already happened. We shot down their saucer in 1947 and collected and dissected their bodies.🤷🏻‍♂️ Roswell New Mexico Science isn't going to take any high roads. The Military isn't gonna take any high roads either. They will take the most expedient route to the maximum data dump that can be seized and controlled.

These recent posts got me to wondering. As an analogy: Suppose a UFO landed and weird beings were seen emerging from the craft (could happen). Suppose then that they set-up camp and proceeded to explore Earth, basically minding their own business. Would the prudent thing to do be A.) immediately try to kill them so that Science can prove that extra-terrestrial beings are visiting Earth?, or B.) At least attempt to contain them (alive) and make contact? The correct response seems obvious to me (B.) We could be prepared to attack if necessary although attacking might not work out so good, proactively or, reactively. As with Bigfoot, we could end up with a much better understanding of what they are and perhaps what benefits to us they might provide. We could at least try to take the high-road, no?
