  2. What happens when a group of Bigfoot researchers returns to a fire-scorched Oregon mountain — and finds that something’s been waiting for them? In this mysterious and raw episode recorded in the field at Oakridge 2025, we hear firsthand from researchers like Ronnie Roseman, Dewayne, M.K. Davis, and Don Monroe. Stories unfold of massive trackways left behind as a birthday gift, of creatures mimicking human gestures from a ridge, and of bizarre portal phenomena on Saddle Blanket Mountain. There’s the tale of Sasquatch stealing a lunch — and leaving behind a can of beer. Encounters with glowing yellow eyes, eerily human-like neck tilts, and creatures watching silently from the moss. This isn’t just another Bigfoot campout — it’s a chilling reminder that these beings are still out there, still watching, and maybe… waiting. Whether you’re into high strangeness, deep woods terror, or the living myth of Sasquatch — this episode will stick with you. 🔊 Listen now. And watch your back next time you’re in Oakridge. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 5. Old Slipperyskin merits only three mentions in the Forums even though he harassed Roger's Rangers during their retreat from Canada, terrorized several towns in Vermont, and caused one gubernatorial candidate to lose an election. I originally discovered a good round-up of Old Slipperyskin encounters on the Vermonter Blog in 2013; they've updated the story with glitzy art and better formatting since then. Let's cause a spike in their readership at https://www.vermonter.com/slipperyskin-creature-vermont/.

Random observations that I'll update from time to time: * For some period of time, the "wild man of Borneo," likely an orangutan, was a popular sideshow in even the smallest carnival or "shop of horrors." However, there being a general shortage of orangutans in the United States, many places hired someone to portray the "wild man." I've run across many such stories, but will only be posting one or two that are particularly noteworthy. * Similarly, people with mental health problems who subsisted as best they could in the woods were often identified as a "wild man." Again, I'm not posting the many stories I've encountered where it appears clear that it is a person, not a Bigfoot, described. For example, if the "wild man" uses a rifle or runs a local speakeasy, its an interesting story but its not relevant to the Forums. * Also there are cases where violent criminals are identified as a "wild man." In at least one of those cases, the author of a book used a truncated version of the story which made it sound like an attack was committed by an unknown, upright, hairy bipedal creature. But upon finding a longer version of that story, it is clear that the "wild man" was a common rapist. * Lastly, for now, it's surprisingly difficult to find a specific story. I went through Tirademan's posts in the Archives and cross-referenced them to those saved by Gigantor to identify those that are missing. Even with fairly specific information and a limited time frame specified, its possible that the search will be completely fruitless with no results or overwhelming with an avalanche of results.
  7. Connecticut was apparently overrun by wild men in the early 1900s - this appears to be a different report than Tirademan found, although I haven't mapped it.

Thank you - although I was hoping to fly under the radar for a bit. Quite the big shoes to be following Tirademan's work in finding the old articles and Gigantor's work curating some of them.
  10. ^^ Thank you - I have to incorporate some of these into my database.

  13. From the August 3, 1838, edition of the Baltimore (MD) Sun. Versions of this story can be found in The Bigfoot Casebook by Janet and Colin Bord; Bigfoot in New York and New England by Paul and Robert Bartholomew (even though the encounter was in Pennsylvania!), and Bigfoot in Pennsylvania by Timothy Renner.
  14. This same news article was printed in the Mount Carmel Item (Mount Carmel, PA) on October 5, 1935. I'm not adding the clip as it is identical, but I find it counter-intuitive that such stories would get such widespread distribution in smaller newspapers so long ago.
  15. My apologies, the above newspaper article appeared in The Scranton Republic, not in a newspaper from Indiana County, PA. The day after the above article ran, a Wilkes-Barre paper, The Times Leader, ran a slightly longer version - or, since this was one of my early efforts at clipping old news articles, I clipped the Scranton one short....

  17. Maybe Elon can explain it better. Don't ask why would they come here. Ask how long would it take for an advanced species to visit every solar system in the galaxy and possibly others close by. Also Google Von Neumann Probe.

  19. Since deep space travel for physical/biological entities would require time travel, this is a very valid possibility.
  20. ^^^ Life could very well be out there. Even if there is advanced life, why would our galaxy and esp our very solar system been interesting to them? Out of all the grains of sand on the beach, what is so unique about our one grain of sand out of the Gazillions. We are to believe there is life all over the universe. If such life is out there looking AND such life is all over the universe then it seems there are other more interesting planets competing with Earth. Say there are 100,000,000,000,000 earths out there. Wouldn't we have to take out an ad in Alien Visitor Magazine to get their attention? I guess I call it the "Needle in the haystack" reasoning. Still, I keep an open mind about it. Chuck Noland: That's a search area of 500,000 square miles. That's twice the size of Texas. They may never find us. Remember this Pale Blue Dot is just a pic from Voyager looking back at Earth while STILL in our own solar system.

  23. From a newspaper in Indiana County, Pennsylvania; likely an AP or UPI story.
  24. Front page news from The Merrill Star-Advocate, in Merrill, Wisconsin, on April 4, 1883. To close to April 1st for my liking! Sorry for the size disparity, but in Newspapers.com if you clip a big article, it gets shrunk down; if you clip a small section, the result is huge. I'll be mindful of that in future posts.
  25. From the Grant County Herald, August 10, 1899; originally located by Tirademan in 2004.
  26. This forum highlights additional or lost historical newspaper articles about Bigfoot, Sasquatch, wild men, wild women, and other hairy bipedal beasts. Former Bigfoot Forums member Tirademan (Scott McClean, RIP) originally posted his collection of newspaper articles in the Bigfoot Forums 1.0 Media - News & Magazine Articles subforum, which is archived at https://bigfootforums.com/topic/15747-amazing-historical-archives-found/. The newspaper articles referenced in that thread are generally no longer visible, except for those saved by Gigantor in Tirademan’s Historical Newspaper Archives at https://bigfootforums.com/forum/130-tirademans-historical-newspaper-archives/. Other newspaper articles which Tirademan posted are scattered, and buried, throughout different threads in the forums. This forum is an effort to consolidate and add to Tirademan’s prior work, thus providing additional reference material for members of the Bigfoot Forums. To that end, * Historical newspaper articles already included Tirademan’s Historical Newspaper Archives will not be duplicated here. * Historical newspaper articles that can reasonably be identified as having been posted in Bigfoot Forums 1.0 Media - News & Magazine Articles will be labeled as Tirademan’s articles. * If historical newspaper articles are referenced in published books (e.g., Bigfoot in New York and New England; The Bigfoot Casebook), that book will be noted if I’m aware of the book. * Every single historical newspaper article about a single incident may not be published. Some incidents, like the great Doerr Terrace gorilla hunt, generated tremendous coverage throughout a single state or wider; many newspaper articles are merely shortened versions of an original article. Other articles are so short and vague as to be worthless as traditionary evidence. * This forum will be tightly controlled. If you know of historical newspaper articles which might exist, or which were buried in other threads, feel free to send me a message or to list the request under this post. Researchers who are interested in finding historical news reports can use https://www.newspapers.com/ or http://www.newspaperarchive.com/, both of which may require a subscription.
