This is kind of where I'm at on it, only to say that I don't think it is suppression so much as in-action, which is the easiest thing to do. If I were a Government, or University Scientist that believed in Bigfoot, I don't think I would say too much either, until I had indisputable truth. (They have some great benefits there that most people don't want to lose. lol) As far as the OP; imo, that won't happen in a million years so, I can't say much about that.

Do you follow UFOs? Now relabeled UAPs to hide from the stigma of the term UFO? Finding an archaic hominid, a cousin if you will still surviving on Earth? Would be amazing! We know they existed, we just don’t know IF any still exist today. Finding out that an advanced alien civilization is visiting Earth on a regular basis? That life exists outside of Earth? That we are not alone in the Universe? Would be a massive paradigm shift of human understanding! And there is a mountain of evidence that the U.S. government absolutely covers up the existence of UFOs. Why? No one has any idea. My personal opinion is that the government covers up anything they cannot control. Or gives itself to the perception that they have no control. A advanced alien craft flying around sensitive air space with impunity? Deny it. A archaic hominid that eludes capture living on our public lands? Deny it. Not trying to steer the discussion away from Bigfoot. But I do see parallels. And it does seem contrary to basic human curiosity, understanding and knowledge building. It’s very unfortunate for someone like me that just wants to know the truth. But someone way above my pay grade has a supreme vote in public truth. And can hide behind bureaucracy and national security. The fact that the Smithsonian is exempt from the Indian Graves Act should tell you something.

Is this a new primate that popped up in a flash or has it been hiding in the jungle all along? Why are some calling it a Bigfoot? Will this discovery help the economy of South Africa or will this discovery shut down profits from the jungle?

I've read both volumes of Where The Footprints End, thanks to recommendation of BlackRock Bigfoot. I'm a pretty firm flesh/blood guy, but agree these books broadened my horizons regarding bigfoot and the unknown in general. High strangeness occurs.

Yeah, either the witness does not report it because they do not associate it with Bigfoot, or they are too afraid to. For most folks, Bigfoot is far enough "out there" without adding UFOs, orbs, telepathic talk, teleportation, etc. to the story. Also, people taking the reports dismiss it as well as not applying or again, just too weird to be included. Still believe in the F&B theory for some of it, but that does not explain all the stuff we hear about. I think there have to be other explanations for those events.

Very well said VAfooter. For some unknown reason we get reports of bigfoot performing superhuman or unreal behaviors such as vanishing or sending telepathic messages while such observations simply don't occur while observing baboons or gorillas. Most observers of these feats never report them while observing bigfoot due to fear of ridicule. Is there anyone who is brave enough to report such observations? Most of these observations go unreported since the observer can't believe what was just observed.

^ Good points, although I have my doubts about them being classified as humanish. To me, just too much about them are non-human. But we will see...maybe... I would certainly love to see a reporter ask Trump at a news conference when he is going to release the "Bigfoot Files". I am not holding my breath for that to happen though. Currently reading Where The Footprints End, Vol. II. Finished Vol. I a few days ago. The basic premise is that Bigfoot is totally related to the Fae, UFOs, ghosts, orbs, etc. and all sorts of paranormal activity. Even if you are a firm F&B believer, you do have to admit that their research is impressive. They catalog how Bigfoot is intertwined with activities and events that have been described throughout history as Fae activity, ghosts, trolls, etc. and other folklore. Interesting reading and thought provoking, even if you dismiss their hypothesis. It will make you think. While I have always been a strict F&B guy, there is a lot of weirdness with Bigfoot that defies explanation. Thanks to Joe and Jessi over at Hellbent for helping me to "evolve" my thinking on this. Still believe in F&B for the most part, but I think there are other things happening as well that do not fit neatly into the traditional Bigfoot "box". Yeah, Woo happens... And finally, in regards to the original question, it will mean nothing. Plenty of other evidence point to their existence. As I have always said, every single one of the 10s, probably 100s, of thousands of reports cannot be hoaxes, hallucinations, misidentifications, and outright lies.

I think they're suppressing discovery because these creatures will be determined to be a human species, and that will cause a whole new level of political, legal, and real estate problems. Simultaneously, discovery will be too disruptive to the sasquatch species. Currently, they're almost universally left alone by humanity. That will not be the case after discovery. Keeping them mythical is better for everybody, especially the sasquatches.

do you have any theories as to why the government might be covering up their existence? I dont think protecting the timber industry is a good theory as to why the government would suppress knowledge of the existence of the creatures.

As I was typing this entry, I realized how much we take for granted these days - just a generation before me, country homes didn't have refrigerators....

This story is identified in The Bigfoot Casebook Updated by Janet and Colin Bord; it is from the appendix of a book titled The Hermit of Siskiyou - or - Twice-Old Man, which can be found at https://archive.org/details/hermitsiskiyou00musicrich/mode/2up. This book was published in 1896 "to aid in the perpetuation of some of the quaint legends that have become in a degree historical" of the Siskiyou Range. It might be a great book for California history buffs, although its written like an epic poem - so be prepared. I've included both the poetical telling of the wild man and the note from the appendix.
