Back Road Bigfoot - Bigfoot Eyewitness Episode 491
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio
Tonight’s guests, Beth Kolasinski and Nolan Shelby, are mother and son. In late February, of 2018, the two of them were heading home from Nolan’s last high school basketball game, in Flint, Michigan. They live in Howell, Michigan, so they had a fairly long drive to get home. Beth doesn’t like driving on highways, so she prefers to take back roads, instead of driving on highways, so she took back roads home from the basketball game that night. When they were about 25 miles from home, they were in a desolate area where there was nothing but a lot of open fields. It was raining that night, so their view of the countryside wasn’t the best. What they did get a view of that night, however, was something they never expected to see. We hope you’ll tune into tonight’s show, so you can listen to them recount their sighting. It’s a night they’ll never forget. If you’ve had a Sasquatch sighting and would like to be a guest on the show, please go to BigfootEyewitness.com and let me know. I’d love to hear from you. ^^^ Answered on p.25, 15 pages ago. "A Green Beret presence for a missing child is unprecedented." This is why I like primary sources – the Wikipedia article on the Dennis Martin disappearance has several links to contemporaneous newspaper articles on this case and the Case Study at fn 17 talks about the Green Berets as well. The SF Soldiers were already in the area for training. Could have been a Q course class (don’t know where they did those in the 60s) or it could have been a Group just training in the deep woods, but it does not appear that they were sent there to look for DM. They were there, and in an on-the-spot decision, decided to train by searching from what I can see in those reports. Unless there was a government coverup to hide why they were .... oh wait, wrong thread!!

The green berets was the Dennis Martin case. The only reason i could see them sending in green berets was red fear. But other than that i dont know.

The Yakima Herald discussed Roger and Bob's claimed film and spoke briefly with each of them, then published this story. Unfortunately, the archives for that paper are not included in Newspapers.com; however, the Bigfoot Encounters website does have a copy at http://www.bigfootencounters.com/.* Again, you have to click on the Newspapers and Magazine Articles tab; this article is listed 3/4s of the way down in the right hand column. * As Bigfoot Encounters is still a live site, the Forums will not poach their copies of the article. -

Do you think somebody was pulling a gag on you? Gimlin: Uh no, no, it just uh it was surprising, and, uh, we talked about these things many times and actually talked what we would do if we happened to see one. Webster: Now before we finish the chase, you had your rifle out of the scabbard. What kind of rifle was it? Gimlin: 30 aught six rifle. Webster: And you can use a rifle obviously? Gimlin: Yes I can, I’ve grown up with one. 9:11 Webster: It’d been worth a hundred thousand dollars cash to you if you had raised that rifle and shot this creature; you must have known that. Gimlin: I don't believe I could do it. What do you think of the US Forest Service's view on bigfoot?
norseman replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
First? You have to listen to what I am saying before you can make any real rebuttals. I never once said aliens have a connection with our government, much less working in cooperation with them. What I have shown you through whistleblowers, congressional hearings and facts is that our government LIES. On a whole host of issues! Not just cryptids and UFOs. And it’s extremely disingenuous on your part to pretend that some order of magnitude made up by bureaucrats in DC determines when the government LIES and when it’s being honest. Yes, this is the silliest thing I have heard. Sec of Defense: I have to go before Congress in 10 minutes! Orderly call the Office of Magnitude! Ask them where they rate the One eyed, one horned flying purple eater attack on Early Iowa. Orderly: I have them on the line sir….they say deny everything! Blame the six dead on a micro tornado and the purple blur on swamp gas! Sec of Defense: If I lie under oath at this hearing do I get immunity from the Oval Office? Orderly: They say only if you do the thing….Raytheon is getting impatient with the trials test. Sec of Defense: But their plasma rifle sucks! Ok….ok…..I will sign off! House Committee: Raise your right hand Mr. Secretary….Do you swear to tell the whole truth…. -
OH! I AM SURE! Yes. Paulides is trying to sell books. I am aware. The problem is that the Government has been involved in so many cover ups? How would it stop with cryptids? MK Uktra, The Trinity tests, the Muskogee syphilis tests, Agent Orange, etc (I won’t mention UFOs again). I had run ins with biologists lying through their teeth when they were trying (and succeeded) in getting our hound seasons closed forever. And as a firefighter of 17 years? I never saw armed Green Berets land and do a SAR search on their own. Thats extremely bizarre. So while Paulides may not be a saint? There is absolutely a kernel of truth there. MIB? You are a knower. Tell me what are the odds with all of the surveillance in the Feds arsenal today? Military, border patrol, state LE, Fire air assets, etc. What are the odds that they DO NOT know this creature exists? I would say that it’s ZERO. IMHO. So why are they dragging their feet when it comes to a USPS missing persons list? Or why do they do Bigfoot Aprils Fools day jokes on their website? Native Americans tell us Bigfoot is a cannibal and a kidnapper. I am not saying every missing persons case was Bigfoot related. But here is my statement! If only ONE of these cases is Bigfoot related and my government failed to warn me and my family about the dangers involved with stepping on their trail? It’s beyond criminal! They knew and they chose silence.

What do you think of the US Forest Service's view on bigfoot?
Huntster replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Now, that right there is World Class wit! I salute you, and am jealous that I didn't come up with it. If you are not opposed, I think I need to add that to my profile signature........properly accredited, of course........ Nor do I, because I don't believe extraterrestrial aliens are visiting this planet. However, IF they were, I'm absolutely convinced that government would suppress that information from the public, and........ ..........they may very well be using the illusion that it is aliens flying around in secret military craft that they themselves are creating and experimenting with in our skies. Understood. You've done well to make that clear over the past few years that these questions have been discussed, and it's a very valid foundation of skepticism. However, I believe you are somehow missing the magnitude of another extant human species still sharing our planet, and which is nearing extinction. The worldwide political response to such news would be every bit as a concern (even if different) to national governments as the discovery of extraterrestrial aliens. There is no requirement for sasquatchery to rise to the level of fear that ray-gun toting aliens bring to the table to accept the possibility that government is suppressing the "discovery" of sasquatches. Indeed, I fear "human rights lawyers" MUCH more than I fear phaser-toting aliens, primarily because I KNOW "human rights lawyers" exist in numbers far, far greater than the numbers of sasquatches, I know what dangers they pose to both human society in the macro as well as to a dying race of primitive humans, and I don't believe phaser-toting aliens exist. Agreed, and back at 'ya. Think of our discussions on this an unqualified repeat of the Owens/Huxley public debates on Darwinism/evolution, which just happened to coincide with the acceptance (not "discovery") of the gorilla (imagine that co-incidence!)........... -
Is there? Really? Are you sure? As-reported, true, however, I'm not sure that aspect of what is reported isn't fabricated for purposes of creating drama where none existed thus creating sales opportunity where none existed. In other words, the notion of a gov't conspiracy is Paulides' conspiracy. And others .. he's not the only one making a living on the appearance of solving a mystery that doesn't actually exist. P.T. Barnum would be proud. Those cases where I've talked to people who were involved in the search present things in a different manner than Paulides. The loss of life is tragic but not particularly mysterious.

What do you think of the US Forest Service's view on bigfoot?
Backdoc replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
If a person is convinced our government is in cooperation with Aliens, the sky is the limit on what else can fit that narrative. This position makes it much easier to believe any action needed downstream from that same government. If I don't happen to believe the Aliens-Government thing at all as we both know. This makes me less likely to believe the government knows about Bigfoot and is keeping it quiet. I can agree our government would do some of the things you might imagine involving areas of National Security. Again, the Magnitude is the defining issue. The funny thing is I am more than willing from my perspective to open the door to your position provided I was given a good enough reason the issue raising to a level like national security. (There is that darn Magnitude again). Once someone is convinced of the Close Encounters world, anything they dream up is always possible. Such a foundational belief makes your type of conclusions much easier to believe. Since I am convinced our government WOULD do a massive UFO cover up should they exist, I just happen to require any other issue rises to that level. It is all about the magnitude, as it should be. It's not "silly" at all. I respect where you are coming from. I don't know how else to say it but I don't buy the first thing (Government-Alien-Connection) so I can't buy the second thing (Government coving up Bigfoot). If one buys the first thing then they have the mental currency to buy just about anything. I have found sometimes discussing these things with those convinced came come across as an attack on what they happen to believe. This isn't the case. It's just a respectful disagreement. -

1967/10/21 - Newspaper Article - Mrs. Bigfoot Is Filmed!
Trogluddite posted a topic in Patterson-Gimlin Film Reference Materials
The conventional wisdom states that after filming "Patty" sometime around 1:30 PM on October 20, 1967, Roger Patterson called a reporter at the Times-Standard, published in Eureka, California, "some eight hours" after the event (i.e., around 9:00 to 9:30 PM). The phone call lasted until late that night, when Roger was anxious to get back to his horses. The resulting story was purportedly published in the Times-Standard's morning edition on October 21, 1967. The October 21, 1967 edition of the Eureka Times-Standard is not available on Newspapers.com. The only copy to be found on the internet appears to be on Bobbie Short's (RIP) Bigfoot Encounters website; this copy omits the paper's masthead on the first page or the header on the second page, thus, researchers do not know from the document what day it was published. Nonetheless, Daniel Perez saw a microfiche copy of this article and has consistently stated that the article was published in the October 21, 1967 Times-Standard. See Bigfoot at Bluff Creek: A Pictorial Discussion, p. 109. The Bigfoot Encounters copy of the article is on the Newspaper and Magazine Articles page at the very top http://www.bigfootencounters.com/; an updated post which includes images of the newspaper clippings (done the old-fashioned way) and a photograph of Roger Patterson with various casts is at http://www.bigfootencounters.com/articles/9-inch-track.htm. Note that the Bigfoot Encounters website is different and does not link directly to some pages. Click on the "Newspaper and Magazine Articles" tab; the Times Standard article is the very first one on the page.
