    Bigfoot myth or monster?

They have "official" position. From AI: Two joke entries on their official page have been pulled. See my screenshot and try them yourself. I can tell you as a former Army official that had I posted a joke on an official Army webpage, I would have been fried in deep fat. I'll pass on talking with the Forest Service. They're either clueless or intentionally redirecting interest.

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

Forrest Service = Frank Ishitara at Kodak There were questions about Kodak and the development of the PGF. A few diff times Kodak's Frank Ishihara was contacted and gave his expert opinion being heavily involved in Kodak development during the era in Q. We even had one of our BFF posters contact him and relate on a thread the conversation which can still be read today. <--That turned out to be very helpful. I suggest someone who is forest minded do the same thing with the forest service. We discuss what we think the forest service's opinion is about Bigfoot. Yet couldn't we find some general answers if someone made a few phone calls to the forest service. Perhaps they even give a number or put a caller on hold until they can "get their boss' or "let me transfer you" I am not expecting ground breaking info but we could see from their reaction how they respond. We could see if we are directed to an official position statement on the subject of Bigfoot. What do they think? Ask them.

Prove that logging helps ungulates. And Bigfoot preys on ungulates…. Win/win!
  8. I believe you are correct. That's a huge question. If these creatures are determined to be hominins (and I'm sure they will be), they will be the most unique species on Earth. Unlike any other, they might be determined to have human rights, yet still be considered to be wild animals, thus forced assimilation would be inappropriate, if not outright impossible both for them and us. In addition to political resource and land use issues, the criminal behavior issues would have to be ironed out and lived with. For example, everybody would know of their existence, and many would be fearful. so what are the rules if camping and a sasquatch raids your camp at night, even if just curious or stealing your morning granola? Can you shoot it if fearful? It's "human", and there's likely fewer than 5000 of them throughout North America. In comparison, there are @ 22,000 polar bears in North America, and not many more humans in polar bear habitat.

  10. A family called police after something spent hours circling their home and shrieking. The responding officer reportedly watched a huge, two-legged figure clear a five-foot fence. The family said it returned after he left. Retired Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer Chris Raabis comes forward to share the Bigfoot-related call he helped follow up on near Pemberton, British Columbia. He describes interviewing the frightened family, hearing his colleague’s account, and documenting the incident in a police file. Chris also shares his own unexplained experiences near Nelson: strange chattering during a nighttime dog walk, breaking trees, a thunderous impact he interpreted as a thrown boulder, and deer remains with no visible blood on the surrounding snow. What happened outside that family’s home—and what is happening in these British Columbia forests? 12. Government has very good reasons to keep sasquatches undiscovered and let's look at some of those reasons why the Forest Service and BLM probably do not want sasquatch to be discovered and receive a genus and species name. The government knows at some point a bigfoot will be captured or a body or living creature will be recovered. It's just a matter of time before a bigfoot is captured or killed which is necessary to proving its existence, and the government agencies in charge of timber production probably have a plan in place once the discovery happens. What do you think the plan is? When discovery happens an agency will be in charge of the new species and its well being since the public will probably demand that bigfoot's habitat will be protected. Once discovered then problems will begin such as environmental groups will demand that bigfoot be protected and logging close to it's range of operation will probably be stopped. This is when major problems will begin to happen and I will turn this conversation to the members to describe what these problems might be and what are the possible solutions.

  17. The U.S. government has literally hundreds of years of experience trying to get native peoples and immigrants to live together in peace. Current events demonstrate that the battles continue. With sasquatchery, and unlike Native American tribes, "mythology" helps keep the political difficulty to such a minimum as to eliminated it altogether. From AI: It's tough enough to deal with humanity under ethnic and tribal terms. Sub-species adds complexities and legal uncertainties. Government has very good reasons to keep sasquatches undiscovered. It makes their lives easier, keeps sasquatches living as wild as possible, reduces impacts to sasquatches by humanity, and reduces economic disruptions to a minimum.
  18. Published in Portland (OR)'s The Sunday Oregonian on February 4, 1962. There is an interesting tidbit about the tracks near the end of the story. Whether this story, or the interesting track tidbit, is true or not, each reader will have to decide for themselves.
  19. The advertisement was published in the Hull Daily Mail of England on January 15, 1954 and over the weekend. The Hull Daily Mail appears to be a local supplement of The Daily Mail, a London newspaper not included in the Newspapers.com archive. The story about the expedition's equipment and planned bakery was carried in The Courier-Mail of Brisbane, Australia on January 18, 1954. Not all readers were sanguine about the planned expedition, as noted in a letter to the editor of The Advertiser of Adelaide, Australia published on January 19, 1954.
  20. This article is from the San Antonio (TX) Express-News and was published on December 3, 2009. While it was probably an escaped monkey of some sort, the first witness reported it to police as a Bigfoot.
  21. Or have been conditioned over dozens of thousands of years to avoid Homo sapiens because of our penchant for warfare?
  22. What are hominins? "The term "hominins" (also known as “hominini”) refers to the different species of the genus Homo that make up human evolution. Hominins include Homo erectus, Homo sapiens and Homo neanderthalensis, among other species. The only surviving hominin species is Homo sapiens sapiens, i.e. modern humans." How about Homo sasquatchinsis as being a hominins that is smart enough to avoid human detection.
  23. IF these creatures are hominins (and the evidence strongly indicates that they are), the appropriate researchers are as much (or more) anthropologists than biologists, and there is good reason to study the phenomenon in a low key, or even secret way. https://historyreclaimed.co.uk/is-there-a-primitive-society/
  24. Many of us cringe when we see animal species going extinct and feel guilty for not doing more to protect a species. We just haven't developed adequate methods to study bigfoot populations so we can determine if their populations are stable or do we need special methods to ensure bigfoots can raise families and keep stable populations?
  25. The RZ zones or Riparian Vegetation Zone, sound like a good idea since trees are not cut and logged within 50' of a certain sized creek which keeps fish habitat healthy and nature's animals such as beavers, weasels, and bigfoots can travel the banks of the creeks without drawing unwanted recognition. Is this a good idea?

    Bigfoot myth or monster?

The Forest Service considers bigfoot to be mythical and so they won't put any effort into helping Sasquatch survive like they did to help the Spotted Owl. The Forest Service knows moving bigfoot from mythical to a proven species will cause many forest to be shut down for logging. How do you prevent this from happening?
