No. Extinct species get a pass. Entire species are recognized by just a few bones. But not extant ones. They require two complete skeletons. One male and one female. They are extant because people allegedly see them walking around the forest. If they were extinct then no one would report them. It would be up to paleontologists to find them in a dig site. Like Denisovans. No. Aliens have not been proven to science. Scientists tell the government all the time to back up its claims with physical evidence. Of course aliens come with a bunch of national security risks. Like their technological advanced vehicles. Which is what the government hides behind. Science and government often times are at loggerheads. Because REAL science is about getting to truth. But human agendas are always getting in the way.

Ok, how do we know they are extant? I don't really get what Science requires I guess.. A pinky bone for one, a male and a female type specimen for the other? That doesn't seem reasonable but, you will probably tell me that Science doesn't care what is reasonable, they just demand what they must have before they go out on a limb. It's public opinion, their tenure, potential ridicule, problems at home, etc. that hold most of them back, in my opinion. When our Government released the 'UFO files' did that prove the existence of extra-terrestrial space craft to Science? Too many people just don't care about anything that they perceive as not directly affecting them, especially if it requires them to think.

Nocturnal theory in avoidance of Homo Sapiens? Another point…. Ostman said Sasquatch hands were “scooped”. So was Naledi! 👍

It’s simply how scientific classification works. It’s your choice to participate or not. But regardless of who chooses to participate? Science will require one male and one female type specimen. It’s required for every extant species on the planet. Extinct species get a pass. Denisovans were discovered with a DNA extraction of a pinky bone. Allegedly they are extinct…. So if anyone here is collecting DNA samples? Or any evidence of this species? Just understand where it’s headed! I have my own theory as to why this hasn’t happened yet. I think the deep state is very happy with the arrangement currently of deny, obfuscation and ridicule. And so far science has fallen in line for the most part. And so we as a community are a bunch of delusional crackpots out in the forest looking for Pixies and Gnomes.🤷♂️

Oklahoma 1977/08/21 - A Profile of Early Oklahoma Researcher Bob Stamps

While the earliest version of this story was published in The Daily Oklahoman of Oklahoma City (OK) on August 21, 1977, at the height of the Adair County Monster scare, that article was scanned badly, making it hard to read. Therefore, enjoy this story published in the Columbia (MO) Daily Tribune on August 30, 1977. -
Those are totally valid points/questions. I think we can only speak for ourselves and, as for me: Success at looking for Bigfoot would be seeing one or more in a situation that provided undeniable confidence that I was seeing the creature(s) that have already been described thousands of times. The sighting would need to be unambiguous and, it would be great if there was at least one other person present so that, if nothing else, we could talk about it. (I had such an experience with a 'UFO' decades ago, but I was alone in my truck. I have always been grateful for that experience because it broadened my horizons, even though I can't say if it was an Alien spacecraft, or not. It was definitely an unidentifiable flying object, beyond the scope of anything that I can imagine to be man-made.) For others, perhaps the majority of the BFF membership, success only means one thing: Scientific Acceptance and Classification. I get that, but if a Bigfoot body on a slab is required and one cannot be obtained without deliberately killing one then, it would not be worth it, in my opinion. And, if I see a Thylacine, I'm not going to shoot that either. I would tell my story, just as I did with the UFO and as I would with Bigfoot then, whoever didn't believe me or, thought I was crazy, could take a long walk off a short bridge. lol

1972/01/00 - Newspaper Article - Roger Gimlin Believed in Bigfoot - HOLDMYBEER!

Forums member HOLDMYBEER shared this nugget of information in his post at https://bigfootforums.com/topic/146822-interview-pastor-rollin-swanson-april-22-2016/ and has graciously allowed its reposting in this thread. Pastor Rollin A. Swanson asked Roger, then on his deathbed, whether he believed in the reality of Bigfoot. If Roger had a guilty conscience about hoaxing the P-G film, this would have been the time to cleanse his soul. Instead, he unreservedly reaffirmed his belief that Bigfoot was a living creature. Pastor Swanson's letter to the editor was published in the Tri-City Herald of Pasco (WA) on April 22, 2016. -

Derek will be returning for part two of the The Triangle Series. Derek Condit, an author, researcher, psychic intuitive, inventor, U.S. Army veteran, and former Washington State correctional officer. Based in the Pacific Northwest, Derek explores the fascinating intersection of documented history, eyewitness testimony, unexplained phenomena, folklore, and personal experience. His work examines the stories and events that challenge our understanding of the world around us. Derek is the creator of The Triangle Series, a collection of books investigating regions associated with unusual activity including UFO encounters, Bigfoot and cryptid sightings, paranormal experiences, unexplained lights, historic mysteries, and other events that defy easy explanation. Check Out The Triangle Series His approach is open minded and story-driven. Rather than dismissing experiences simply because they fall outside conventional understanding, Derek allows witnesses to share their stories and examines the possibilities surrounding what they encountered. His interest in the unexplained is also deeply personal. Derek has experienced unexplained phenomena firsthand, including a Bigfoot encounter in Washington State. As Derek explains: "My connection to these subjects is also deeply personal. Both my 87-year-old father, a former NSA agent, and I have had our own Bigfoot encounters. Mine occurred in Washington State, while his took place in Northern California." Derek's 16 years as a Washington State correctional officer also provided him with numerous unusual experiences. Some occurred inside the Washington State Reformatory, while others took place during night-shift assignments outside the prison. These firsthand encounters, combined with years of research, have shaped Derek's unique perspective on the unexplained. A Bigfoot Appeared on a Road That Wasn’t There Near Oakridge, Oregon
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
Ronnie Roseman returns to Bigfoot Society with new details from one of Oregon’s most intense Sasquatch research areas near Oakridge. Ronnie shares reports of strange structures hidden along remote trails, unsettling vocalizations from the bottoms, a meadow covered in Bigfoot tracks measuring up to 23 inches, and encounters where multiple unseen creatures appeared to position themselves around researchers. He also reveals one of the strangest experiences he has ever kept private: a possible Bigfoot standing on a distant dirt road that Ronnie and Duane watched for roughly 15 minutes. When they returned weeks later, the road itself appeared to be gone. This episode goes deep into decades of field experience, aggressive nighttime encounters, Sasquatch behavior, and the questions Ronnie still cannot answer. Ep. 383 - Dr. Lynne McNeill on 'Squatchy Lore and Legends!
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot and Beyond with Cliff and Bobo
Cliff Barackman and Matt Pruitt speak with folklorist Dr. Lynne McNeill about the intersection of folklore, science, and the sasquatch! Dr. McNeill is an Associate Professor of Folklore at Utah State University. Her research focuses on legend and belief, cryptids, digital culture, and the ways that folklore develops and spreads through communities. Dr. McNeill discusses what folklore actually is, why folklorists study it, and what traditional stories tell us about the world around us. The conversation explores scientific discoveries that were preceded by folklore and traditional knowledge, what the persistence of sasquatch legends might mean from a folklorist’s perspective, and how the internet and social media have transformed modern perceptions of the sasquatch phenomenon! See Cliff and Dr. McNeill speak at Wild About The West on Saturday, September 12th at the Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art on the Utah State University campus in Logan, Utah! I think of Anna Nikaris discovery of an unknown animal. The interest isn’t that it looked like bigfoot. The issue is the animal existed but was undiscovered until recently. To me the animal doesn’t have to be impressive. The principal of discovery makes it impressive. Dr Nikaris even had a lecture with the possibility of Bigfoot existing.

If it’s military grade footage with a legit chain of custody from the military? It still proves nothing. But if the military and border patrol is seeing cryptids? It certainly may make science more interested to look.

I don’t know how modern it is but I think Mr. Thorn is on to something. He just needs better camera trap techniques.👍
