One male and one female." <I bolded that last part for clarity> So, I took that to mean that you think proof of Sasquatch requires a complete Male and a complete Female skeleton. Personally, I don't like the idea of even implying that. You have somewhat of an authoritative persona here so, there might be a few people who would take that and run with it which could be very unfortunate, in my opinion. I just think that there must be a better way. "I am still waiting for an adequate explanation on your part as to why a “majestic animal” is exempt from scientific study?" I never said anything like that. I said: "Unless there is no other viable option, Bigfoot, Black Widows and many other creatures are just too magnificent to kill, in my opinion." Now, if anyone wants to go out and kill a few billion mosquitoes for Science, I'm all for it.

Herpetological Society to see the back storage rooms of reptiles and amphibians at Harvard University’s Zoology Museum. Understanding that scientists and students still use them is fascinating.

Only high school for me for biology. But I do have an Associate Arts degree. I never said PROOF requires a complete male and female skeleton. Proof could be in the form of a positive DNA sample. But that is just the beginning… The Holotype cannot be a body part in an extant species. No. If you’re missing 3/4 of the skeleton? How would you tell the difference between two closely related species? Extinct species get a pass as fossils. But a Holotype is the anchor for the whole species. A hypothesis is an assumption. It’s a best guess. And science is full of failed hypotheses. Yes I see it as semantics. Sorry. Bubble? I am still waiting for an adequate explanation on your part as to why a “majestic animal” is exempt from scientific study? Which would include collecting a Holotype, Allotype and Paratypes in any given species including Sasquatches? Here is a recent classification. https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0349857 Three specimens (two adult females and one adult male) were sampled for genetic analysis and provided the basis for morphological description of the new species. In addition, we sampled nearby populations of C. angolensis angolensis for comparative genetic analysis (tissue samples of one male and one female). Specimens of the new species were skinned and skeletonized in the field for transport to the University of Kisangani’s Centre de Surveillance de Biodiversité (CSB) Zoological Museum. At CSB, the skins were treated with alum and air dried. The skeletons were cleaned with a solution of carbon tetrachloride, deionized salt, and deionized water, and then treated with hydrogen peroxide. Tissue samples collected in the field were stored in RNAlater (Applied Biosystems, Foster City, California) and 94% ethanol and kept in cool, dark locations until shipped. Skin, skeletal, and tissue collections were shipped and exported to the Yale Peabody Museum (YPM), New Haven, Connecticut, with additional tissue samples stored at CSB and on loan from YPM to Florida Atlantic University (FAU).

I have taken Biology class at the collegiate level, have you? Are you aware that a type specimen can be a body part? (yes, or no?) Asking again: Can you show where your personal Scientists have indicated that proof of Sasquatch requires a complete Male and a complete Female skeleton? (yes, or no?) You don't understand the difference between a hypothesis and an assumption, yet you yell at me about Science? You won't even admit that you were wrong about that, or anything else as far as I can tell. One minute Science is a rigid set of rules that I am too stupid to understand then, the difference is just semantics? really? To me, you are indicating an excess of information intake, without adequate understanding. That is really the important part: the understanding. The Information 'Super-Highway' hasn't been good for everybody so; please don't assume that your bubble is the correct and only bubble.

GO TAKE A BIOLOGY CLASS! You’re talking out your donkey…. Type Specimens 1) Holotype (Species anchor) 2) Allotype (The opposite sex of the Holotype) 3) Paratypes (extra specimens of the same species) 4) Syntypes (when no Holotype was chosen by error) Nothing I have told you is some personal version. It’s what I have read and what I have asked from scientists. If you would like to educate yourself in basic biology and discuss? I will be right here! As far as majestic? Yah I think Bigfoot absolutely belongs with Elephants, Giraffes and Mountain Gorillas with their own scientific classification. They DO NOT belong with Pixies, Gnomes and Hobgoblins in the mythological section at Barnes and Noble.🤷‍♂️

Again, a type specimen can be (and often is) a body part recovered post-mortem. Only your personal version of Science requires two complete Sasquatch skeletons. "As far as semantics? I guess I have a Bigfoot hypothesis then…..no feelings anywhere." That takes the cake because 1.) you are trying to reduce Science to semantics which is basically the opposite, and 2.) no feelings anywhere? geez Why is it always Bigfoot ripping my arms off? I'm not advocating hunting down a potentially breeding pair, you are. "You on the other hand LOTS OF FEELINGS when it comes to killing “majestic animals” in the name of science!" Correct. When you quote "majestic animals" do you feel as though Bigfoot are not majestic? They're just another every day 10 foot tall human-like Ape I guess.. No big deal.

That obviously hit a nerve with you. But now you say every animal on the planet does it. Including spiders and squirrels….. Ok? As far as semantics? If you attack a squirrel and it can't get away, it will try to kill you. 'Science makes assumptions all the time. Its called a hypothesis." Nope. 'An assumption is a belief or idea that is taken for granted without sufficient evidence or proof. Unlike a hypothesis, an assumption is not testable or falsifiable.' Look it up if you don't believe me. You are correct that Science does not care about my feelings and, likewise, it does not care about your feelings either. Science does care about strict adherence to Scientific Methods which, although they may change, do not at any time permit personal interpretations. Have a great night. 8^)

They are impressive. I watched one digging for Rock Chucks. He was moving some material with that big rippling hump.

I've never watched a bear drag anything away, but have run across lots of their buried treasures (I really don't like that.........). But one of the most impressive things I've seen (more than once) is a grizzly running for its life as I entered the valley or area (they heard or smelled me/us coming).........especially in the fall when they're fat and their fur is thickening for winter, and their hide moves like Patty's in the PGF. Bears can really cover territory!
