What do you think of the US Forest Services view on Bigfoot that was the original topic, and we have drifted in outer space way past this topic so maybe we had better bring it back to or more Earth related phenomena that we can explain. I’ve been listening to many of the podcast that are now related to Bigfoot, and many of them are just flesh and blood accounts, but now about half of them involved the woo factor. I have been extremely lucky and had both types of experiences. My first one was definitely up close, flesh and blood and see my drawing listed under northwest encounters. Another midnight distorted visual experience that happened way up the deserted Elk River in an Oregon primitive campground started way after sundown with unreal bird calls moving instanteously from a distanbush 200' away to a bush next to me happened that had a woo factor that I couldn’t explain. This was the last straw so I really just stopped in my tracks and ceased wasting my time on studying Bigfoot for a year or two. If we listen to some of Tom Powell’s accounts who was the teacher from Portland Oregon, most of his accounts are flesh and blood, but he has some that describes Bigfoot walking away from an observer and disappearing in the thin air. We cannot deny these accounts from normal people and just toss them into the trash can. The woo factor may be the reason why the Forest Service is quiet on the topic of Bigfoot, and I know they have top wildlife biologist who are well aware of this creature but have they been silenced due to many reasons such as woo factor ridicule and new laws reducing timber production. They probably monitor this website and post with special call names or even post at times. Top wildlife biologist working for the Forest Service might have decided that Bigfoot is a supernatural phenomena that transcends all the other wildlife then they dare not publish this in fear of losing a cushy job. There could also be down to Earth reasons why they don’t come out and publish what their wildlife biologists have discovered about Sasquatch which are actual counts of Bigfoot’s behavior in the forest. We have seen what other endangered species have done to logging production and when an animal that is endangered populates prime logging forest it stymies wood production that has a downturn on local economies. My personal opinion is bigfoot and sustained yield timber production and bigfoot get along fine since open logged areas brings in more deer that keep bigfoot fat and happy. If there is a real woo factor to Bigfoot and the Forest Service wildlife biologist have observed this, can you imagine the effect it would have on their careers and the public if they were allowed to publish this. The first thing that would probably happen is President Trump would replace the Forest Service director, bigfoot would not be labeled as real or an endangered species and logging would go on as usual.

There are mistakes I have found for sure. But there is some very weird cases. And there is a weird relationship with the government concerning some of these cases.

sorry to bump an old thread, but I found this video to be interesting and informative.

There were at least two sightings of a "wild man" in northwest Massachusetts and southern Vermont in 1961. They are reported in Bigfoot in New York and New England by Paul and Robert Bartholomew. The way my original article is saved, I believe that I found it somewhere here on the Forums, but I can't find it now, so here's a fresh copy.

The whole thing about linking sasquatchery with extraterrestrial visitors fits the "anything is possible" line, and I suppose that's why it became "a thing", but IMHO it's just a foolish distraction. Keeping sasquatches within the taxonomic primate order keeps it closer to established reality and better fits Occam's Razor. It also keeps the phenomenon within the thread's discussion of the USFS without the need to expand it to NASA, DoD, etc. It also helps us fear sasquatches as only capable of tearing us apart without bringing in questions about technology like ray guns, gravity bombs, and phasers. More appropriate than extraterrestrial science fiction is the religious/spiritual aspect of sasquatchery, especially that related to aboriginal spirituality. I again refer to Richard Nelson's incredible book Make Prayers to the Raven: A Koyukon View of the Northern Forest, not just for its inclusion of sasquatchery, but for its overall explanation of aboriginal spirituality, both pre-contact and today after a few centuries of evolution after contact. When tonight’s guest, Curt, was a kid, he had a group of sightings on the outskirts of Yreka, California in July of 1983. His sightings happened one after the other, in the span of less than an hour’s time. The first sighting happened while he was playing a game of hide n seek with his brother, sister, and some friends at a school that was behind Curt’s Aunt’s apartment complex.
