Yeah, I'd question the extinction of giant squid unless it somehow involved microparticulate plastics or so!e such innovation. Heck think of the numbers of sperm whales the giant squid population used to feed prior to the advent of whaling! And then centuries with their main predator effectively absent, allowing their numbers to go unchecked. There should be vast herds(?) Inkings(?) of giant squid in every ocean! In regards to photography in so hostile an environment, it will prove futile until we conjure the irresistible attractor and somehow construct a device that allows far more adroit pursuit, keeping up with their evasions. In a sense the same holds true with sasquatch....finding the irresistible draw, something that entrances their curiosity or desire to the point it outweighs their caution. It could be as "simple" as a specific tone or frequency of light, perhaps a combination of the two like some cuttlefish radio presenting pulsing flows of colors synched to a groove of the sasquatch tones. But once that's figured out and pictures are had, it will never relegate them to just another animal In the woods, unless we view ourselves as such as well. Fwiw, the ideal plural form of Bigfoot is unquestionably sasquatchezez....thought you'd like to know....lol

Best Circumstantial Evidence

Xspider1 its going to have to be a pretty extreme and extensive mutation for an individual to be deemed a unique species. The mutations would have have to be extensive enough to disguise the markers used to differentiate the original species, and I have hard time envisioning that occurring in anything but like bacteria, or fruit flies at best with their four chromasomes...maybe.... I'd think most mutations that would cause drastic morphological changes will prove lethal from the get go or shortly there after, unless, of course its the result of direct genetic manipulation recombining the genes of disparate species in a plotted out effort, but even then the original species involved could be identified. Were it by just a single inheritable trait that sasquatch is set apart from modern humans then it might well be attributed to an aberrant mutation, but there's clearly more involved in the differentiation between us. - Today

Bigfoot sightings in the greater KC area

Are they perhaps venturing closer in search of water? Or are there more remote sources they could avail themselves of? I was just thinking in light of this years heat they might be pressed for water. -
Gorilla head on a six foot human body
guyzonthropus replied to norseman's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Its funny how this video portrays the very opposite of the other, with a group of H.erectus in the vicinity of a lone Paranthropus as opposed to the group of Paranthropus prints and the prints of a lone H.erectus. its of note that this video states Paranthropus as a much shorter figure in comparison to H.e. while the other video derives a much taller stature for Paranthropus from the stride length of the trackway.. Trogluddite..I'd guess the voice over is indeed AI for not only did it refer to Paranthropus robustus as a subspecies of Paranthropus when Paranthropus is in fact the genus name, so robustus is a species name, it also referred to Louis B Leakey as "Loo-ee" Leakey rather than "Loo-is" Leakey which seems like a typical AI "reading error" An interesting video as well! Thanks for posting it! -
Paranthropus footprints found
guyzonthropus replied to norseman's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Well, that's interesting and does open up some potentials. If the track ways are indicating a larger size, do they also imply the degree of "upright-ness"? And how would this impact their capacity for longer distance mobility. Is it possible they or some member of Paranthropus were able to take part in the ongoing exodus from Africa along with other hominids of the time, such as erectus? If this occurred when sea levels had dropped we would have little chance of finding evidence of such range expansions, but if H.erectus was on the move, whats to say Paranthropus wouldn't as well, perhaps even following or joining H.e for increased safety and foraging.its a stretch to be sure, but it does illustrate potential pathways for the simultaneous expansion of multiple species outside of Africa, which could then result in multiple derived forms further out rather than just our own hominid line.- 1 reply

Well one would expect there to be considerable commonalities with modern human DNA, at least more than seen with chimps or orangs, but I'd think there would also be outlier components absent for our own. Just how consistent these might be from sample to sample could hinge on any number of possible factors, but its possible there might be notable clusters of aberrant chains not seen in modern humans or with the prominence as seen in the samples, if that makes any sense. Presuming the premise of the Pleistocene mega fauna hominid proves out, it would be possible to determine the point(s) of divergence from a shared line just as they do for any genetics based taxonomic research. Though I have no idea what the cost of such analysis runs, much less that for multiple samples. But were that to be undertaken we might well discover a different verse field of various forms created through the waves of migration as determined by the shifting phases of glaciation and resultant sea levels. Or maybe it would be seen that most of those existing today are all derived from a relatively small number of survivors that made it through the antigen bottleneck that may have arose with the arrival of the Europeans and their diseases which could have easily reduced sasquatch populations like they did those of the indigenous peoples, thereby greatly diminishing genetic diversity amongst them. Who knows what might be learned from such pursuits?

Everybody Says It Was a Bigfoot - Bigfoot Eyewitness Episode 548
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio
In the late 70’s, tonight’s guest, Virgil Berry, was living near the Columbia River, in Oregon, when he had an experience he’ll never forget. You see, Virgil was an avid fisherman, back then, and one day he had decided to go fishing at a nearby creek, with his friend, Johnny, at a runoff for the Columbia River, close to where he lived. After Virgil and Johnny arrived at the fishing spot they’d chosen, they fished for a while. All of a sudden, Virgil noticed that Johnny was staring, intently, off to his left. Curious to see what had captured Johnny’s attention, Virgil shifted his gaze in the direction Johnny was looking and couldn’t believe his eyes... How far did the big male carrying Albert Ostman go the night he made off with poor Albert? He mentioned a number of ups and downs through mountains but I don't recall how many nor for how long. But it did take him considerable time returning to that settlement/logging camp. That would give at least some indication of their potential range. These fires are simply horrific, with all the habitat getting destroyed in times already plagued with climatic stresses. Oddly enough, no major fires have occurred here in southern California so far this year, though we've have a rather mild summer. However there have been a few moist years lately so the San Gabriel mountains(the range behind my house) are getting covered with progressively more and more fuel for when it does burn. Its always a double edged sword, in that more rain keeps the hillsides greener for longer, it also results in further accumulation of fuels

Yes. But no elk hoof tracks in the cast area. So did it levitate out of its bed? The last act of a bedded elk getting up is standing on its hooves, right? Ive posted video of elk in the act of getting up before. So we should guard against blanket statements like this or the Jacobs creature was a bear because bear cubs where recently in the bait stand. My own personal experience is that I get a wide variety of species into my bait stand when i was doing it. And something with padded feet like a bear or a Bigfoot is harder to track. -

I won't trust my memory on this one. I seem to remember hearing/ reading Elk tracks were all around and hair identified turned out to be Elk. That doesn't mean Bigfoot couldn't sit down in a muddy area where elk also happen to be. I just seem to remember hearing or reading this. Maybe someone will chime in. I still say many normal things -poorly understood- cause us to jump to conclusions. We need to guard against that. -

Habituated Sasquatch Family Surrounds Home in Texas Hill Country
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
Some encounters leave you questioning what might be hiding just beyond the next ridgeline. A Washington researcher describes a logging road where a tree suddenly appeared across the path, strange markers led toward a hidden meadow, and wood knocks echoed through the forest. A lifelong hunter from Alberta shares enormous tracks, overwhelming odors, and a silent midnight shadow that lingered over a Boy Scout camp. In California, a dog trainer comes face to face with an enormous human-faced creature carrying a full-grown deer over its shoulder. An Illinois homeowner watches a towering figure stand over a neighbor's dog kennel while the entire neighborhood begins sharing similar stories. Then, a Texas family opens the door to years of astonishing encounters involving mysterious gifts, giant handprints, vocalizations, and repeated visits from what they believe is a family of Sasquatch living near their property. These are firsthand accounts from people who never expected to become part of the Bigfoot conversation. Listen with an open mind, study the details, and decide for yourself what was waiting in the woods. Elk leave hoof prints when they get up out of bed. That’s why I don’t think that is an Elk. Sasquatch is reported to crawl. Even Bears roll and slide on their bellies. Elk do not.🤷♂️ - Last week

Sandi Russo returns for Part 2 to share the moment that changed everything. After years of strange activity around her off-grid property in Davie County, North Carolina, she finally comes face-to-face with a towering female Bigfoot. What she describes is one of the most detailed visual encounters ever shared on Bigfoot Society, from the creature's expression and appearance to the unforgettable moment their eyes met across the field. Sandi also shares new accounts of interactions between the Bigfoot family, her dogs, neighboring witnesses, unexplained gifts, and additional encounters that continue to unfold around her property. This conversation offers a rare look into a long-term relationship built over years of trust and observation, making it one of the most remarkable habituation accounts featured on the show. If you've ever wondered what happens after the first strange knock in the woods, this episode takes you deeper than almost any eyewitness interview we've released. What does this nature discovery mean? Here are my completely uninformed thoughts: First, I applaud the logic. I will admit when we see something unusual, I am more prone to think it is in fact not unusual. It is just not as well understood. Well, maybe just not well understood by me. Once we understand it the real reason turns out to be pretty boring. I would like to offer 2 examples: 1- Plaster cast "fingerprints". I heard on TV shows how these plaster footprints of Bigfoot had dermal ridges. There was even claimed evidence of healed skin in the footprint's dermal ridge lines which "couldn't be faked". Jimmy Chilcutte became a household name in the Bigfoot world as the FBI fingerprint expert who pointed these things out. He concluded this could only be explained by an undiscovered primate making the prints. This may be the case, but his analysis was flawed it seems. The effect he noticed was able to be explained and reproduced by others giving the same ridges as an experimental result. This meant there could be other explanations for the same lines he based his conclusions on. 2- The Skookum casts were thought to be a bigfoot siting in the mud. It seems its more likely this was just a deer/elk type animal. Of the two which is more likely. We attribute things to unusual findings which can be significant. Sometimes it is and sometimes it's not. In the end we need to go wherever the facts take us. Are the findings explained by some other natural process or typical process? -
For those who doubt the usefulness of DNA in identifying Bigfoot as a new species or a Homo sapiens hybrid, please read this paper on the Likweli monkey, which has extensive DNA results to demonstrate its place in monkey phylogeny as a distinct species. A similar paper on the Lesula monkey, another recent discovery, can be found in PLOS ONE.
