Never Scream and Point at a Sasquatch! - Bigfoot Eyewitness Episode 551
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Eyewitness Radio
Tonight’s guest, Greg Helton, has been investigating the Sasquatch phenomenon for about 30 years. His first sighting happened in Manitou Springs, Colorado. He was on a cliff face, on the eastern side of Williams Canyon, tossing slate rocks over the edge so he could watch them smash on the ground below. After tossing the third rock, he suddenly noticed a black, furry, humanoid-shaped figure moving to his left. When he focused on the figure, he realized that it was looking back at him. A moment later, he realized it wasn’t alone… Greg went on to have many more experiences with Sasquatch after that day. Probably the most memorable of those experiences was the time he accidentally peed on one. We hope you’ll tune in and listen to Greg share that experience, his first sighting, and several of his other Sasquatch encounters with you. BIGFOOT CHASED Witness Through Rainier, Oregon | NEW KANDAHAR INFORMATION
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
Some places leave a lasting impression on everyone who experiences them, and the forests surrounding Rainier, Oregon continue to earn that reputation. In this episode of Bigfoot Society, Ellie shares two unforgettable experiences from her childhood near Camp Wilkerson, and the Nehalem River. One night, an unseen presence surrounded a family trampoline, throwing rocks and heavy sticks from the darkness. Another evening, while returning from a chanterelle mushroom hunt, she found herself running through the woods with enormous footsteps keeping pace just behind her. Later in the episode, Monte recounts a remarkable series of encounters spanning the Florida Everglades, Kandahar, Afghanistan, and Central Texas. His stories include a creature lifting his truck, military sightings involving multiple large figures, repeated rock-throwing incidents, and years of encounters around Marble Falls and Kerrville. This episode explores firsthand eyewitness testimony from forests, wetlands, mountains, and remote backroads where unexplained encounters continue to be reported. Whether you're fascinated by Bigfoot research, regional hotspots, or personal witness accounts, this is an episode you won't want to miss. If you've experienced something you can't explain, Bigfoot Society would love to hear your story. 📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here: https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? As for reports, they used to say for every report submitted up to 100 go unreported. Now that could be an exaggeration, but back before Finding Bigfoot and the "normalization" of sightings(if you can call it that even now) I'm sure people were far more reluctant to come forth. I know my late natural sister told me of a couple incidents she had (one early morning sighting and another time where she was escorted out without seeing the creature) and she never reported either. Also I'm a firm believer that instead of most bigfoot sightings actually being bears, I think a fairly big number of Bigfoot sightings get discounted as bear sightings by the witnesses themselves because the people involved simply can't process the possibility that they saw bigfoot, and so their minds default to explaining it away as a bear, something "normal" they already understand and accept, as well as something that won't get them laughed at, disparaged or called crazy. I'm sure that in some percentage of such cases people choose to call it a bear just to avoid the social stigma involved, or feared would be involved, in reporting a sighting. Call it a survival strategy, be it conscious or subconscious. -

Koko was not a one off by any means. There have been a number of great apes taught sign language. Gorillas, orangs, and I'm pretty sure chimps as well. I believe there are also cases where mothers taught offspring ASL, although I can't say to what extent or if there developed any gorilla specific/created signs that they did or didn't explain to humans(of course if they didn't they might not be recognized as such or deemed "gorilla mumbling ASL") What's really remarkable is the research being done with chimps using touchscreen monitors to perform tests, on some of which they outperform humans ! -

Regardless of how much Bigfoot eats it has to get its food, calories, or energy it has to get it somewhere. If the source is completely private it is harder to "see" Bigfoot or catch it in the act. If it eats and especially prefers public food sources, we should see them more often. If there are enough of these public food source loving animals, we should see them at trash cans and river streams. We don't. To the extent we do it sure seems like those seeing them seem to forget they are armed with a cell phone camera.

Translucent Orb Amazes Witnesses at Oakridge, Oregon
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
Michelle Heaton returns to Bigfoot Society with an incredible update from the forests surrounding Sweet Home, Oregon. She shares new discoveries from Green Peter Reservoir, including massive tree structures, large footprints, mysterious nighttime encounters, and a chilling experience involving heavy bipedal footsteps approaching her in the darkness. Michelle also recounts her recent research trip into Tennessee's Cherokee National Forest before taking listeners to Oakridge, Oregon, where Sasquatch Summer Fest brought multiple witnesses together for extraordinary nighttime experiences. She describes a large translucent orb crossing a forest trail in full view of an entire group, strange owl vocalizations, ongoing reports of energy-draining phenomena, and the remarkable atmosphere that continues to make Oakridge one of the Pacific Northwest's most talked-about Sasquatch locations. The conversation continues with a series of live listener encounters from across North America. Hear firsthand reports from a witness who encountered an enormous figure outside a remote Tennessee cabin, a longtime Oregon resident describing years of unexplained whistles and eerie activity on Goat Mountain, a veteran sharing encounters from New York, Maine, and West Virginia, and a Sierra Nevada investigator whose search uncovered giant tracks, broken elk bones, and a frightening bluff charge. Every account in this episode comes directly from the people who experienced it. These stories span remote mountains, deep forests, and quiet backroads, offering another fascinating look into one of North America's greatest mysteries. Those are very good points. I'd like to think that there are at least a few people in my life that (if I had a virtually undeniable siting), I could report to who would absolutely believe me. But then, pre-conceptions can be difficult to overcome. Would they think that I'm going crazy? I don't know but, over time and if I was consistent with my re-counting of the event, I think that at least most of those few people would begin to believe. People that don't know me from Adam, even other eye-witnesses?? maybe not... -

^ If that story is accurate, it is astounding! I am 25% taller than my wife, slightly heavier build and weigh considerably more than twice as much as she does. So, if for example, a 5'7" gorilla can weigh 400 lbs., I am trying to image how much a 12' Sasquatch might weigh!? That is more than twice the height of the gorilla mentioned so, easily 4 times the weight or more seems reasonable. Therefore, it seems possible that the Squatch in that story (if actually 12' tall) might have weighed over a ton!

Towering Bigfoot Watches Witness | Lake Alpine, California
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
Some encounters stay with you for life. Greg shares two firsthand experiences that changed everything he believed about the wilderness. The first takes place on Independence Day in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, where a massive upright creature silently watches him from the trees near Lake Alpine. Years later, while fishing in Chaplin, Connecticut, an explosive crash from dense shoreline brush reveals another enormous, ape-like animal racing uphill in full view of multiple witnesses. From California's high country to the forests of New England, this episode explores two unforgettable encounters, regional Bigfoot reports, Native traditions, unexplained footprints, and the questions that continue long after the sightings end. If you enjoy serious, respectful eyewitness interviews with the people who lived these experiences, this is an episode you won't want to miss. 📖 Follow Jeremiah's cancer health updates here: https://www.caringbridge.org/site/569ef3d3-68be-11f1-8790-97fdfd2bbc64 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? I think you have to ask some followup questions. 1) WHEN did the encounter occur, because I think media attention has changed the answer over time, at least in terms of averages. 2) WHO are you? Because I think different demographics have different propensities to report. I take a LOT of local reports via word of mouth that are never formally submitted .. truly, I've heard many accounts even from BFRO and Olympic Project members around the campfire that I do not think are part of any public database. I think we have to be very careful, in the context of your question, about assuming any uniformity of answer. Then there's the question of what constitutes a report? Formal submission? Sharing with other bigfooters informally? Sharing with family .. who may not be proponents? Those will vary for each of us depending on something which may vary from trust of those we're sharing with to deliberately, abrasively jamming it down their throats and daring them to voice doubt.

I was visiting my cousin (who grew up and currently lives on the northern coast of Oregon) 2 years ago and she revealed to me that she had a sighting in her backyard in the 80's. She has known of my interest in squatching for the last 15 years, but never said a thing. She finally opened up and told everyone after 40 years. -

Alaska Bigfoot Cruise - Sept. 11 - 18, 2026
OkieFoot posted a topic in Conferences, Symposiums & Other Get-Togethers
This has to be one of the more unusual Bigfoot conferences, symposiums, etc. This is the 3rd annual Alaska Bigfoot Cruise. It leaves from Seattle on the 11th and will stop in Juneau, Skagway and Sitka. On the way back, they stop in Victoria, B.C. and will have a town hall. The town hall is free for people on the cruise, but is $50 admission for others. The on-board speakers will be Matt Pruitt, Adam Davies, and Jonathan Dover. The speakers for the Victoria Town Hall will be the same three plus Ryan Golembeske. -

How would the public be expected to answer this question: If you had an encounter with Bigfoot, would you report it or keep it quiet. I wonder what the break down would be. I guess Bigfoot reports tell us the number of people willing to report it. These numbers just might be under reported year after year if those under reporting are significant. -

Trogluddite replied to Northern Lights's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
^^^ Absolutely. That's one reason why old reports may be less reliable. Numerous (probably most) encounter reports give only the year, then at best the month and date. However, the inability to remember a date doesn't necessarily taint a witness's report. I can recount in painful detail a jump I made somewhere between '85 and '86 (maybe '87) where the 'chute wrapped around my leg. The fact that I don't remember the date without pulling out my (very short) jump log book doesn't make my recollection of the events any less credible. -
Yep. A "side consideration" in this regard is that the chances that the date of the 'claimed encounter' is misremembered/misreported the more time passes between event and report submission. My own report to BFRO, for instance, was submitted nearly 30 years after the actual event so the best I could do was try to back in to the date based on events and seasons surrounding it, I didn't have a specific record of the date.
