  2. Oh, I believe that fully. In my example of grizzly bears, Anchorage is a perfect example. We have an estimated 60 grizzlies living within municipal borders. Not all behave nicely, but many do. Ditto the wolves. And I suspect sasquatches are smarter than the bears and wolves. With regard to Anchorage and its wildlife, recently I was told that the wolf packs that inhabited Ft. Richardson were ultimately destroyed. Their issue was that people would illegally walk their dogs on Army land, and the wolves eventually learned that they could take the dogs right off their leashes. As the problem grew, the Army "studied" it until attention waned...........then they killed them off. The bears? They can be a real problem. Fish and Game has killed 8 brown bears and 12 black bears in Anchorage this year. https://www.alaskasnewssource.com/2026/09/22/bears-have-broken-into-vehicles-destroyed-garage-doors-even-tried-enter-home-anchorage/ As long as sasquatches remain mythical, police and wildlife officials won't be killing sasquatches when fearful folks call them.

  4. Maybe, maybe not. This seems rooted in ape camp thinking .. rooted in a notion that sasquatch acts on instinct rather than culture or intelligence. Think about what we think we know about physical differences that lead to behaviors that avoid conflict, things like diurnal vs nocturnal, gracile vs robust, near bald vs hairy, running under hot sun across open plains vs walking nights on frozen mountains and the relative foot adaptations for each, about the need for tools and fire vs lack of those needs. Maybe that isn't limited to biology, maybe it extends to deliberate behavior selections that minimize conflict. Mind you, I can't prove it does, but I don't think we can safely assume it does not. "Religion", be it formal or be it mere human assumption of uniqueness / specialness, may tell some folks this can't be true but that's all it is .. assumption. If there is a baby in this bathwater we need to keep it all, not make random guesses and throw out parts which might indeed have the baby in them.

  11. I agree. It's like grizzly bears and wolves co-existing with large populations of humans. If we aren't willing to accept human and livestock losses, it won't be happening successfully.
  12. I think it’s never ending cycles of overlap. If they yield to us the “good ground”? I don’t think their numbers could be high coexisting with us. This may not have always been the case. The Cerutti mastodon find is pre Homo Sapiens in my opinion. They may have had full reign of the new world until we showed up. What we see now is pockets of survivors from the Homo Sapiens apocalypse? Just a thought. And it didn’t just happen here. It happened to many species in our genus in Africa, Asia and Europe. Homo Sapiens are the last man standing.

  14. True. But while countless tribes and ethnicities over the ages haven died off, our species has grown exponentially. Science now claims that our species died down to just a couple thousand individuals at one time, which likely mirrors sasquatch numbers, so perhaps sasquatch population densities are fine where they are right now? From Native American oral traditions, sasquatch numbers were never described as high.

  16. Strange howls answered their calls in the Illinois woods. Moments later, they heard snapping—and a thunderous crash. Documentary filmmaker Joe Tury and investigator Jason Dickerson join Jeremiah Byron to share what happened near an overgrown cemetery in the Garden of the Gods Wilderness, deep inside Shawnee National Forest. Their investigation brought repeated vocalizations, a possible trackway, and sounds they interpreted as trees falling in different directions. Hear the howl recording for yourself as they walk through the encounter, their reactions, and the questions that keep bringing them back. What answered them from the woods—and what happened after the howls? New Member Introductions

Hello, I am Adrian and I’ve been interested in Bigfoot since I was a child. I have not witnessed anything of Bigfoot in particular, but I had other strange preternatural experiences when I was very young. so I believe there is more to the world than what we now know. Even if the mystery is not solved I enjoy researching and seeing what and how others believe 29M from FL

  20. That's why it's key to determine their genus after discovery. There is currently no other living species within the homo genus recognized as extant. But if one is discovered, presto!: another human species exists. Their legal status then gets negotiated and legally established worldwide by Science, the lawyers, the anthropologists, and the United Nations. *Hmmmmmm..........maybe it would be better for all if they remain mythical, huh?.......*
  21. Homicide right now in the courts means one Homo Sapien murdering another Homo Sapien. There are zero court cases in which this has been extended to anything outside of our own species. Albeit they are trying currently…. https://www.nonhumanrights.org/blog/the-need-for-chimpanzee-rights/ So it remains to be seen, A) Where Sasquatch would fall into biological classification. B) And if it did fall into the genus Homo that is no guarantee under current laws that killing one would constitute Homicide. It’s not a Homo Sapien. We do not currently extend human rights to anything outside of our own species. C) This could of course change in the future. If Chimpanzees are awarded Human rights? Certainly they would pertain to Sasquatch.
  22. If it is classified as in the genus Homo, it would be *human*, so killing one would be *homicide*. But remember, more primitive bipedal apes (Australopithecus, Ardipithecus, Sahelanthropus, Oreopithecus, Danuvius, etc) lived at least several millions of years ago. The earliest homo species was 2.5 million years ago. It is definitely homicide, but not necessarily murder. Murder is defined as an illegal and intentional homicide. Self defense is a legal justification for homicide. But if a sasquatch decides to kill a man? It is almost certainly not possible to legally prosecute the sasquatch for murder if he is also a wild animal.

  24. There is no bygone conclusion that Bigfoot is legally a human. In fact I will say without a doubt it is not our species! Homo Sapiens But it may be classified in our genus. Homo Sasquatchelis or whatever. Is shooting something in your genus murder? We don't know. But shooting something in your Family is not? Despite some peoples best efforts? Great apes die at the hands of man even today. Despite laws to the contrary. And if any of these men were tried? It was for poaching. Not murder.
  25. Get ready for outrageous scenarios. Maybe Homo erectus had a subbranch of big, brained creatures that we will call Homo sasquatchensis, and Sasquatch had a basic language that evolved into telepathy. They didn't use tools due to their fantastic speed, deception, and agility to catch deer and other animals for food. They developed a high degree of intelligence that they used to avoid Homo sapiens. Just a wild theory. If bigfoot is an off shoot of Homo erectus then it would be illegal to shoot one. If Homo sasqatchensis kills a human, then specially trained Forest Service stalkers would determine which bigfoot is responsible for the murder, and they would bring it in to spend its remaining life in a zoo. Profits from zoo attendance would help train and pay for bigfoot stalkers. The others in the bigfoot clan would have small radio beacon earrings so they could be monitored, and they would live in and among clear cuts where they would hunt deer and other animals. The Forest Service would continue logging and timber sales as usual, and they would manage and train the bigfoot stalkers. A win win for the Forest Service, bigfoots, and the public.

  27. A fur-covered hand rose from the swamp water. Long fingers gripped a cypress knee. Two field workers near Chipley, Florida, watched something pull itself forward—and fled through four-foot-tall grass. The recording artist known as Shadowyze joins Jeremiah Byron to share the unexplained encounters that inspired his cryptid music. His account of a 2022 Florida survey includes a tall, blurry figure beside a tree, a sudden movement into the water, and another scare as the workers tried to finish their job. On a West Virginia ranch, Shadowyze recalls nightly knocking against a mobile home, oversized tracks, and a flashlight glimpse of a wolf-like animal he estimated was the size of a lion. In Ocala National Forest, he describes waking to something pushing the wall of his tent inward. From repeated wood knocks and unusual tree structures to encounters he associates with Bigfoot and Dogman, Shadowyze walks us through what he remembers—and the questions he still carries.
