I've always found that the number of reports coming from an area is more contingent on the number of investigators than the actual number of reports. In other words, if no one is there to investigate, sightings go unreported. If an investigator is found for that area, a bunch of reports surface. I wish there was something like I-Naturalist where people could report without going through a middleman. I fully realize the flaws, it's just a pie in the sky dream...

I'm sure this is very hard on his family and I wish them peace above all else. It's a sad loss to the community at large as well with him being one of the few credentialed individuals who took this seriously.

  6. What happens when a retired teacher and musician takes his son deep into the forests between Strawberry and Twain Harte — and ends up staring into the eyes of something unexplainable? In this gripping episode, we sit down with Dave Osborne — a seasoned outdoorsman and Bigfoot researcher whose encounters span decades and states. Dave recounts an unforgettable face-to-face experience in the Stanislaus National Forest, where glowing almond-shaped eyes blinked at him from the darkness, followed by guttural breath sounds and unexplained vanishing. You’ll hear about mysterious whistles, tree breaks, massive footprints, and unnerving electronic disturbances at Bolan Lake — a fog-covered spot that left Dave mentally drained and physically shaken. From glowing orbs in Oregon’s Owl Moon Wilderness to peanut butter and jelly gifts disappearing under a hovering light in Del Norte County, this is a journey across the supernatural frontier of Bigfoot activity. Don’t miss this wild ride — and the warning Dave gives for anyone brave enough to try and meet the forest's most elusive guardian. Meldrum signed off on Metilda as a Sasquatch. Todd Standing modified a Chewbacca toy and Metilda was born. Metilda imagery was sold to a Canadian named Erickson/ Ericksen and he had it analyzed. It came back as mini-Chewbacca. Erickson also purchased the infamous 'pancake video'. Zero for 2. Standing must have a good line of horse feathers. I can't imagine what is next.

  14. The federal government is mum on Bigfoot for several reasons in my opinion. One of the possible reasons is the government's wildlife biologist have a rough time trying to locate Bigfoot and to study it. When wildlife biologists get close to Bigfoot all they find are footprints, a few hair samples, and a glimpse of Bigfoot escaping into the heavy timber and high mountains. The wildlife biologist probably have no idea what a healthy population of bigfoots is or if their numbers are dwindling to a low level that could put them in the endangered species category. "The Endangered Species Act (ESA) provides legal protection for threatened and endangered species and their habitats by prohibiting their "take" (killing, harming, or harassing), requiring federal agencies to ensure their actions do not jeopardize listed species or their critical habitats, and providing for the development of species recovery plan.Enacted in 1973, the ESA aims to conserve ecosystems and prevent species extinction, with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) and NOAA Fisheries Service (NMFS) leading its implementation" google
  15. Tirademan had referenced a newspaper article about a 1970 Bigfoot encounter in Wisconsin. So I searched "Bigfoot 1970 Wisconsin." I to date have not found what Tirademan found, but every major Wisconsin newspaper carried ads for Roger Patterson's Bigfoot film almost every day in March. After March, there was nothing - until August 6th, until I found this story, carried again in every major Wisconsin newspaper. I don't know if Priscilla's Pop was a local comic at that time, but the creator, Al Vermeer, had a good pulse on the Bigfoot mythology. Will Priscilla and her dog be eaten by Bigfoot? Will they ever make back to her parents? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode!!

  18. What happens when a teenage Eagle Scout and his father go looking for Bigfoot in the piney woods of East Texas — and actually find it? In this intense and unforgettable episode, we hear from Ryan, a Boykin Springs native who has spent years interacting with something wild, powerful, and very real in the forests of Angelina County. From roadside sightings and campfire wood knocks to police dashcam videos and quiet tracking moments near Aldridge Sawmill, Ryan’s encounters have left a mark — not just on him, but on an entire community. You’ll hear about his early sightings, how curiosity turned into weekend investigations with friends, and why so many members of his local church refuse to return to the woods. If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be watched, followed, or even protected by a creature no one believes in — this is your episode. Featuring stories from Boykin Springs, Crockett, Huntington, and beyond, this is East Texas like you’ve never heard it before. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? The Bigfoot harvest.

Sykes claimed that Zana had "mystery markers", and he opined that her lineage might have come from Africa prior to 100,000 years ago. Margaryan jumped on that like a praying mantis. Immediately, if not faster. That line of evolutionary primatology can't have anything like that stand. He zeroed her in on a tribe in east Africa in order to put it all to bed. Sykes died soon afterwards. I'm pretty sure you won't see another Sykes pop up after that.

    The Bigfoot harvest.

Thanks for giving my opinions a good think, and for carrying this conversation on! But I think you've misunderstood me. Both Sykes and Margaryan found Zana to be 100% homo sapien. Zana was not a hybrid, and she was bred (essentially by rape) with village men and bore several young, some of whom survived and continued breeding with local men. Zana was twice proven to be homo sapien............but the villagers believed her to be an Almas, and since she fit the description of an Almas perfectly, she was actually both, and there is no reason in the world that she couldn't be. This means several things. First, a feral homo sapien can be seen to be a wild man.........and that is exactly what he is. Moreover, some of the reports from others should be expected to be of feral Homo sapiens. How many? Probably not many, because there aren't a whole lot of feral Homo sapiens running around out there..........I hope.......although it appears that we are creating more and more of them right in the middle of our cities............. Second, this does NOT mean that 100% of wild man reports are feral Homo sapiens, just like 100% of sasquatch reports are actually misidentifications of black bears. We must admit that some sasquatch reports are misidentified black bears..........but we must also recognize that some valid Sasquatch sightings are misidentified as black bears. This is almost certainly true, given the fact that two peer reviewed genetic tests have been conducted on her remains and both identify her as 100% homo sapien (more on that below in a reply to norseman). But that reality is complicated with some really outrageous odds. For example: 1) First are the odds that an abandoned child survives abandonment in the wilderness. We're talking one in many hundreds of millions odds. Review the feral children topic: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feral_child 2) Add to those odds the fact that Zana was hypertrychosis (about 1 in 160,000,000). #) Add to the above two incredible odds the fact that she was 6'6" tall. The average height of players in the WNBA is 6'1". A friend played center tat UConn, and went on to play with the LA Sparks. She was 6'2". Only 12 players in WNBA history have been 6'6" or taller. ^^^^^^^^^The above combination is some tall odds, indeed.................

    Meldrum is a knower now?

Hello NorCal and it's been a while since we have spoken. I just want to say your critical thinking is an important part of Bigfoot research but another important part of Bigfoot research is not to offend the long-time posters on this forum who have dedicated hundreds of hours of Bigfoot research and posting to other people's questions. Critical thinking is important part of research and questioning people that have had experiences is very acceptable. Some people that are making up experiences. The people on this forum have the ability to sense when somebody is not being honest. Now Todd Standing's so called bigfoot picture posted on this thread looks like a teddy bear that you would buy in the department store. I am never going to pay attention or waste my time on his reports. Now I've been doing Bigfoot research ever since about 1980 when I had an up-close Sasquatch sighting. My buddy Bill, and I had cut firewood all day, and we threw our sleeping bags out on the tarp and immediately went to sleep under the stars. Maybe somebody on this forum can explain this. I was sound asleep and snapped awake about 2 in the morning, sat up in my sleeping bag, and looked straight ahead for about 100 feet. The moon had lit up the whole area, and I stared into the face of a Bigfoot that was silently peaking over a 4 ft diameter horizontal log directly at us. Was this luck or esp? I tried to wake up my friend Bill and he kept sleeping so I looked back at the bigfoot and it had disappeared. Read the rest on this report under Northwest encounters. I was so amazed at the sighting that I drew a sketch of what I saw and it's posted below. First look at my sketch below then it's up to you to make up your mind if I'm telling the truth or not. Now why did I snap awake at 2:00 in the morning when I was dead tired after cutting firewood all day long? if you want to check up on me then contact me and I will give you the phone number of my wood cutting partner and you can ask him about this. Okay now NorCal welcome to the forum and let's settle down a little bit and give some of the old-time members some basic respect. Now can you guess how many posts it takes to have five gold stars under your name? Now this shows a dedicated member and researcher of Bigfoot who is serious about this endeavor. Now I feel bad for some of our members who have several gold stars, they remain active on the forum, and they have not had the good luck to see a Bigfoot. Some animals are so rare, far and few in between that some of the best field researchers may never see one, then along comes a novice researcher like me who sees a Bigfoot . I had another novice find one time. I was about 15, and we were staying and a very isolated cabin on the lower Rogue River, and I was digging up an old tire half buried in the gravel bar looking for blue-tailed skink lizards. Well out comes this rat that looks at me and then begins jumping up and down across the Gravel Bar like a kangaroo. After researching I found out just now that it's a rare and endangered species animal called the Tipton Kangaroo Rat. Below is my sketch of the Sasquatch that I saw up my Prospect, Oregon. it looked to me like it was a young male Sasquatch that just stayed behind the log and watched us while we slept. When you think about it that was kind of spooky.

    The Bigfoot harvest.

I think Sykes DNA study has been called into question by Meldrum. I now question Zana being a Homo Sapiens. She undoubtedly belonged to the genus Homo. But science needs to work on parsing out samples that are closely related. Evidently you could give Neanderthal DNA to most genetics labs and the result would be Homo Sapiens. Meldrum tried to talk to Sykes about what to look for in a legitimate cryptid sample and he didn’t listen. It would be interesting to send Qwits tooth to the Max Plank institute.

    The Bigfoot harvest.

If I'm following your though process correctly (which, knowing me isn't certain), that would mean that bigfoot/almas would be an archaic human (i.e. a species of homo but not homo sapiens) whilst Zana would have been the offspring of a male bigfoot and female homo sapiens (given that the minutely detailed mitochondrial DNA apparently passes via the female line, leaving Zana testing as pure homo sapiens). It's certainly an interesting thought, and could well be correct. How typical of such an elusive species that one of the very few possibilities available for testing would be an individual that wouldn't divulge anything! The other possibility, to my mind, is that she could have been a modern human, homo sapiens, from Africa, with Hypertrichosis who had been living wild following either voluntarily (escape) or forcibly (shunned) leaving her people. The descriptions of her are essentially from individuals who would have seen her as children, giving descriptions some 70 years later. Given that they would likely not have seen any other individuals of African heritage, Zana theoretically having been amongst the last of the slaves brought over by the recently deposed Ottoman Empire, she would have looked entirely different to their eyes. Coupled with potential Hypertrichosis, and the perspective of children (with regards to the super strength and speed), this could possibly be another explanation.
