    Meldrum is a knower now?

When I was consistently visited "locally" by the locals, I would spontaneously awaken at 3:33am on a consistent basis and a lot of my nocturnal sound captures/recordings of foolery were within that time parameter.

You were being scanned. Reviewing brain waves, when you were sleeping, Delta brainwaves are about 0.1--4Hz and you were sleeping like a log. When you snapped to, you were in Beta brainwave region of about 12Hz--30Hz. Maybe a little Gamma above 30Hz. The Sasquatch was scanning you. Did you smell anything? Did this happen again later in life? I did not find Northwest Encounters so I will make some guesses. You snapped to, was active for a short time, fell back asleep and slept like a rock. Woke up feeling refreshed, more refreshed than your partner. That 2 AM time factor seems common ( I had a tent flap lift and drop at 2 AM ). How did you know the time? The fun part of the 2 AM detail is you can find a moon rise--moon set calendar, plug in the year, day and time and get the moon position and phase.

I checked my files and you are correct. I am not sure how I switched up the players in the Matilda proceedings. I don't follow Todd Standing but I believe that he and his make-up artist wife have a production company. Anyone can make a creature these days. There is a company in South Africa that makes camo for trail cameras that are used to catch poachers ( Camohyde ). They do like a 'life cast' of various tree species and they are good. I checked prices on materials locally to determine if I could do tree bark castings of PNW trees cheaper. No way. The materials / techniques that are available will impress. The cosplay groups have many options. Take a look; https://www.smooth-on.com/ They have goops, but no hair / fur. Know before you pull the trigger. Image is of Camohyde, from South Africa.

  8. Again, not ancient history, but a series of encounters that are underwhelmingly mentioned in the Forums. Mentioned in The Bigfoot Casebook by Janet and Colin Bord; however, there is a much better account, with new information, in Bigfoot in Maine by Michelle Y. Souliere. The first article was published in The Lewiston (ME) Daily Sun on July 27, 1973; the second in the Lewiston (ME) Sun-Journal on July 30, 1973.

  10. If sasquatches exist, I believe that government (to some extent) knows about it. But what "extent" is that? I would speculate that this goes back to the era 1875-1930, and most likely narrowed to 1890-1925. This era marks the beginning of the post U.S./Indian Wars, which is widely recognized to end in 1890 at Wounded Knee. The U.S. Government, having fought these wars from the beginning of the republic (and, in reality, since the arrival of Spanish, French, British, and Russian colonists, explorers, and commercial groups) had very a very fresh remembrance of that nightmare. Any new "wild Indians" would be a huge political, cultural, and ethnic threat. Moreover, this era is just 60 years after Darwinism arose as an ideology, and precisely during the era of the Scopes Monkey Trials. A new species of wild man is a huge thing. We can also assume that somebody examined a carcass so they know this is different than an African or Asian ape. The foot structure is clearly more like ours than any other extant ape. Even if it is legally determined that another Homo species doesn't fit within the ESA, and if/when sasquatches are "discovered", laws and regulations will need to change as a result because human behavior towards them will intensify. It will become a problem with government, which doesn't occur as long as they remain mythical.

  14. The video that Norseman attached to this thread is a good one to watch all the way to the end. Three guys were assigned a task that required them to camp out and to collect data about the forest for a month or two. It's quite interesting and you will hear about one of the Foresters leaving camp and going into the deep woods. While in the Deep Woods a large animal crashes through the brush and makes a ruckus he gets a glimpse of the thick fur and the ferociousness of this animal. Watch the video to the end because it's fascinating. About 150th of all public lands are clear-cut once a year. Two agencies, the Forest Service (FS) and the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), conduct timber sales as an authorized use. Together, the FS and the BLM manage 76% of federal forest area. FS manages 144.9 million acres, while BLM manages 37.6 million acres. The lands they manage are covered with forest that they will harvest so we have a wood supply for home builders and others. The land that our government agencies manage amounts is more than 180 million acres. Throughout the forest where there are endangered species animals, potential endangered species, and Bigfoot that that has no endangered species identification. The forest service wildlife biologist will make sure that logging does not further reduce the endangered species animals. As long as the government protects deer and other animal populations by maintaining a constant amount of timber production that is designed so trees are not cut down where endangered species are living. in other words, about on 1/50th of the forest will be cut each year which allows cut areas to grow back over another 50 year period. Bigfoot will always have plenty of timber to nest in and food to eat providing the sustained yield logging method is kept up yearly. When the government practices sustained yield logging that may take 50 years to make a complete cycle, and the first cycle begins with clear cutting a 36 million acres of forest each year. the first year of cutting Forest will amount to 36 million acres that will be scattered all across the United States throughout the different National Forest. Each plot will be laid out by a Forester on a rotating basis tell all 180 million acres has been cut and replanted over a 50 year about how long it takes a new seedling to grow to maturity.
  15. Bobbie Short's (RIP) Bigfoot Encounters included a newspaper article that described seven times people may have seen a Bigfoot in Maine; that newspaper article mentions the Chenoo in passing. There are also scattered references to the Chenoo in the Forums. Here is a 1950s story, sanitized for children, published in The Edmonton (Alberta) Bulletin on Apr 22, 1950. Older stories about the Chenoo, published in The New York (NY) Sun in 1884 and the Lewiston (ME) Sun-Journal in 1890 reflect a darker side of the human/Chenoo spirit.

Hi, I’m Mary . Live in the California central valley. I’m 71. Started armchair research in the 90’s while stuck at home with illness. Later on, spent many years in the Sierras as a lone researcher. Yeah, I know, not wise. But I sure loved it. Things got eerie and ominous and I decided to quit . I mean, it was “ high strangeness “. I essentially got run out and that was it for me. Still interested though. But haven’t made a trip back for awhile. Also had experiences in WA with Bigfoot talking and tree peeking. In CA and WA found tree structures .
  18. What do a pair of headless horses in Texas, a roadside Sasquatch sighting in Washington, and a screaming entity in Georgia all have in common? They're just a few of the chilling stories shared in this jam-packed episode of Bigfoot Society. We begin with Lisa, a woman who lived near Lake Whitney, Texas, in the 1980s — where late-night footsteps along the Brazos River led to a gruesome discovery in the woods. Her tale of terror unfolds into a lifetime of strange experiences, including a harrowing encounter in a coastal Oregon forest, and ancestral legends passed down from her Osage uncle about a red-eyed beast taller than a bridge. But that’s just the beginning. You’ll also hear from a Kentucky witness who stumbled upon massive footprints and bloodcurdling screams near the infamous Hotel California by Land Between the Lakes — an area with ties to alleged Dogman attacks. We visit Washington’s mile marker 114, where a mother and daughter see not one, but multiple Sasquatch figures crossing the road. The daughter’s reaction? “I saw its soul.” In Wisconsin, a woman recalls a hairy humanoid dressed in flannel and jeans — and a separate sighting involving deer chasing something they weren’t supposed to see. And in Georgia, a family’s Bigfoot curiosity turns terrifying when whoops from their porch summon something massive, bipedal, and enraged from the woods. From duck hunts in Tennessee interrupted by screams, to firsthand visits to the North American Bigfoot Center in Boring, Oregon, this episode travels coast to coast collecting accounts that defy explanation. Whether it’s invisible movements, overpowering smells, or unplaceable sounds — these witnesses all experienced something that left them changed. So buckle up. Episode 894 isn’t just one story. It’s a haunting mosaic of voices — and a reminder that when it comes to Sasquatch, sometimes the truth is stranger than fear. 🗣️ Share Your Story Had a Bigfoot encounter or strange experience? 20. All species within the genus Homo are extinct except Homo Sapiens according to science. So while Homo Sapiens are doing great the genus is doing terrible. How Sasquatch fits into all this will not be settled if it remains a myth.
  21. Norseman is correct. We do not know what laws apply until (or unless? :)) we have one, have DNA to test and retest. Like many here I've pondered this quite a bit. I don't think they are descended from new world monkeys or anything else that originated here. There's simply no fossil record. I think we are left with two families / themes of possibilities. First, they are a very close cousin to us, a recent split, with rapid evolution such that there are no older fossils because they didn't exist yet and the DNA is so close to ours as to appear merely contamination rather than distinct. Second, they are from a very old, very remote split and have never existed in large numbers, not for possibly hundreds of thousands of years, and they exist only in temperate forests with highly acidic soils that destroy bones / remains rather than producing fossils. I lean toward the first of those though I can't disprove the second. My best guess is, since we know there were at least 4 periods with land bridges from east Asia in the Pleistocene, that they likely crossed in one of the earlier 3, in small numbers, and somehow survived despite extreme environmental pressure. We know that small population and extreme forces of natural selection can push evolution much more quickly than it happens in a larger population. It seems the simplest solution working within the things we've already studied scientifically. I think having irrefutable DNA (which means a body .. I think) would allow us to answer a lot of questions.
  22. The ESA acronym stands for the Endangered Species Act. It it exists, and if Science acknowledges that existence, it will be designated as a species. Homo sapiens are in no danger of extinction. There are over 8 billion of us. Granted, numerous races or ethnicities have gone extinct or are in danger of doing so, but not the species. The one way we can avoid the difficulties of recognizing their species and ESA designation is keeping them a myth.
  23. We have no legal precedent as to what laws would apply to a unknown species that is “mostly human”. We don't even know what its relationship is to humans. We assume it’s related to us because it’s bipedal. And we only know about bipedalism arising once in primates and we humans are the last of our genus of bipedalism. But maybe Orangs or Gibbons spawned something bipedal that is on a parallel bipedalism trajectory? We just wont until we have cracked the genome.
