Well bigtoe it looks like you have certainly opened a big can of worms. You added enough reading information to keep us all busy for a week so it looks like we're not gonna be able to decide this issue at the present time. The historical record of Bigfoot It is not obvious at the time but some explanations are better than others. The Nephilim explanation answer some of the unusual characteristics of Big Bigfoot where it acts like a supernatural animal rather than a regular earthly animal. I don't know if we're going to be able to identify it from existing archaic and extinct homo species. -

Yes. I was wondering the same about archaic humans or bipedal ape or monkey being the origin of the Big-foot legend. Here it talks about how there were Bipedal monkeys living in Europe during the time period of archaic humans: And there were different types of bipedal apes in Europe as well during the Miocene. Some of those bipedal apes from Europe are even thought to be related to humans because of some similarities in the fossils to us. Europe may have been a good place for evolving bipedalism if there were both monkeys and apes evolving bipedalism independently there. I was just reading yesterday of how there were some signs that the Gigantopithecus ape was bipedal: https://www.cryptoanthropologist.com/2018/06/the-curious-case-of-gigantopithecus.html However, I think this could perhaps be from fossils of early Homo (i.e. Homo habilis, Homo rufolfensis) misidentified as Gigantopithecus. This could explain why we don't have any fossils yet of the pre-H. erectus expansion out of Africa. That is if the primitive H. habilis fossils outside of Africa are misidentified as non-human apes: https://healthyhumandiversity.weebly.com/blog/are-there-any-super-archaic-human-fossils-misidentified-as-non-human-ape -

Like full understanding within Science being "forbidden" officially, the religious nature of the phenomenon must be likewise forbidden, but outright, not surreptitiously. -

It appears that everybody has missed the definition of the word "paranormal": https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/paranormal Since Science (capital "S") has rejected the existence of sasquatches, the entire affair is "paranormal". "Not understandable in terms of known scientific laws and phenomena". Of course, that notion is, in itself, "not understandable in terms of known scientific laws and phenomena" since Science itself fiercely declares that sasquatch type creatures existed in the past. It just rejects that they exist today, and are thus "not understandable". Confused? Maybe that's the goal? -

No one has decided that Bigfoot is paranormal which is getting associated with magical. We're not talking about a magical primate. We're talking about a primate that has gone well beyond normal primate behavior and has irritated God to the point where its powers has been taken away. Now Bigfoot seems to have a horrifying effect on witnesses sometime and some bigfoots are plainly not friendly. While in the woods you must be protected one way or another from a bear or cornered bigfoot.. Carry a one inch thick Bible with you and a 40 semiauto on your hip. If Bigfoot is an Nephilium and we can't trust its behavior but we can be friendly if it wants to be friendly. Bigfoot is not a normal animal that has developed on planet earth if its a Nephilim. -

You need to read more carefully and not assume so much. Entertaining the possibility is different the driving claims as fact with no evidence, the woo/paranormal group overwhelming do this and present nothing. From the east to the west, every conference puts it on display and is it pathetic. I reject claims that have no evidence. I clearly defined the types of individuals and the natures of failed capacities and even how they get there. This is all well documented in psychological evaluation in every field imaginable. I shared my findings across the fields of character ( HINT- it does not stop with just bigfoot, the instability is all over their lives and how they interact ) and then overlayed with evidence provided by each category. So sorry to inform you that on average paranormal claims fall apart under scrutiny and instead show human failure and bias. Normal sane people don't show me 25 photos of lens flares and dust and call them Sasquatch orbs or tell me they had a hair sample tested and it came back " Bipedal ". lol. I made no definitive claim regarding the demonic aspect, I made room as a possibility for a portion of the dataset and then clearly explained that it would be an imposter as the data sources contradict each other on basic levels. I do happen to have a personal belief that a fraction of the claims are true in the sense that something extraordinary is generating some of the events and that the evidence is strong enough to provide it a measure in percentage. My statement is the majority of the woo groups are way out of touch, mentally undisciplined or unable to perceive things accurately and therefore like to report 1147 sick glyphs a year, daily telepathic messages and 150 red circle photos of Sasquatch turning into a tree. Out of all the paranormal claims, the claim that Demons exist and have a nature is the least disputed and has loads of evidential volume, so spare me the label. The claim that Sasquatches are a paranormal phenomena provides no convincing information across time and instead fall mostly into a clear bell curve of human fallibility. There is nothing wrong will examining the paranormal aspect but when one world builds on it with heavy significance with zero good information, you become a fool at the least. It is not even close to contradiction to say that most paranormal stuff is a load of crap generated by dysfunctional people, it is rampant in this subject. It is not about comfort it is about the measure of evidence so I will continue to stay exactly where I am on this. -

In this installment of Sasquatch Tracks, the team reunites after a short hiatus to remember the life and work of a pair of icons in the field of anthropology, with the passing of Dr. Jeffrey Meldrum and Dr. Jane Goodall. Dr. Jane Morris Goodall, renowned primatologist, ethologist, and conservationist, dedicated her life to expanding humanity’s understanding of the natural world and its profound interconnections. Dr. Jane Goodall was not only as a scientist but a humanitarian and moral leader, whose legacy endures in every forest preserved, every animal protected, and every young mind awakened to wonder. Her passing marks the end of an extraordinary era in science and environmental stewardship. Dr. Jeffrey “Jeff” Meldrum (1958–2025) was a renowned American anthropologist and professor at Idaho State University, best known for his work on primate locomotion, foot morphology, and the evolution of human bipedalism. At Idaho State, Meldrum taught anatomy, evolution, and primatology and conducted research into evolutionary morphology, with special emphasis on how the foot evolved to support upright walking in hominins. However, Meldrum was best known as one of the most prominent scientists to engage seriously with the Bigfoot (Sasquatch) topic, publishing Sasquatch: Legend Meets Science and curating a large collection of footprint casts—while remaining committed to applying scientific rigor to controversial claims, in work that drew both admiration and critique as he straddled the boundary between mainstream anthropology and cryptozoology. Dr. Meldrum passed away on September 10, 2025, following a brief battle with brain cancer at age 67. We celebrate the life, and discuss the work of these two great luminaries in science, on this very special episode of Sasquatch Tracks. My point is that you can't dismiss the witness reports of paranormal outright while validating religious context of the phenomenon. That doesn't have anything to do with my point to you in my previous post that this is a huge part of the subject matter today and that denying conversation around it in the main forum is not great. None of this makes me a hypocrite. If you have a different view of it, please explain your stance rather than casting aspersions on me. -

Network television shows should never be used as a reference point for a serious conversation. Have you watched any of Steve Isdahl's content on YouTube? He read letters from thousands of people who have had experiences. No gatekeeping, no selective information sharing. Worth a look if you are interested in a more diverse picture of this phenomenon. But if you are stuck on mid-tarsal breaks and knocking on trees, do your thing. -

I’ve got to point out the glaring contradiction in your logic. You dismiss the “woo crowd” for entertaining anything paranormal, yet in the same breath you carve out 5% of reports as the work of demonic forces. That’s not skepticism — that’s selective belief. You’re comfortable invoking the Book of Enoch and Nephilim because it fits your personal worldview, but the moment someone mentions interdimensional or energetic phenomena, you call them mentally unstable. You’ve just swapped one kind of “woo” for another. If you’re going to treat demons as a legitimate explanatory category — invisible, nonphysical, and spiritual — then by your own logic, you’ve already opened the door to the paranormal. You can’t reject others for walking through it. The difference isn’t evidence; it’s bias. You believe your supernatural framework is valid because it aligns with your theology, while others’ are dismissed because they don’t. That’s not critical thinking; that’s dogma wearing a skeptic’s mask. You can’t have it both ways. Either stay fully in the empirical lane and reject all paranormal claims equally — or admit that you’re just choosing which mysteries feel most comfortable to believe in. -

Yes, witnesses to sightings and such. In my experience over 65% of all reports are trash and are a combination of low IQ attention seeking, substance abuse, mental instability and misidentification via confirmation bias. I would say 20% are genuine misidentifications within situations where the average person could be fooled by lighting/angle on an known animal or something. I would also make room for about 5% being demonic forces actually messing with people as I am aware that this is a real thing. I am very aware of the Nephilim, the book of Enoch and if it is the case they are part of the dataset then they do not make up the species specifically, more like an imposter playing a role to spiritually prey on people. Sasquatch follow very basic environmental tasks that are compliant with physical constraints and perform them without bending reality, they still hunt on foot, retreat from danger on foot, wade marshes, climb high ledges, connect vocally over distance and endure weather. I have not found a single piece of evidence to suggest they had disappeared completely from a track line but rather they simply did not register enough at some point to be followed. I have heard of this snow trackway claim and have never found any substance or documentation of such an instance as I have read nearly every single report public ( also many unpublished ) on the BFRO site. A paranormal creature that has the abilities the woo folk claim would have no need to abide by any of these constraints. The remaining 10% indicates a high likelihood of being Bigfoot related in origin, this is weighed with evidence, evaluated witness character and layers of data correlations over time for locations that show reliable seasonal occupations. To be clear as possible, that 10% that fits the model with high grade evidence has never produced paranormal claims, the closest it has gotten is that the witness is open to the idea they may be paranormal but not directly experienced it. The paranormal side has no replication of good evidence, nothing novel to contribute to strengthen the subject and frankly is absolutely loaded with people who cannot be believed because of poor discernment, mental health and deliberate falsehoods. The reason many legitimate researchers move from flesh and blood to the paranormal side is due to the weakening of the mind over time, so much was invested into getting answers without any substantial gains made that it generally leads a person to conclude it is beyond measure or capture. -

Your experience is- like all of our experiences- a personal experience. I don't doubt for a min what you claim is what you experienced. It is left for the rest of us to weigh if we believe any part of any reported experience, the whole thing, or none at all. We didn't experience it. We were not there. The more unusual the experience them more likely we, you, or I would question the experience. The most famous Bigfoot encounter we know of tends to be the PGF. Roger Patterson never claimed anything like what your claim is. Why is that? Bob Gimlin never early on made any kind of claim either. It could be if you approached Gimlin all these year later with your story the folksy nice man would say, "That never happened to me". He may say, "You know, I kind of had that feeling as well. Thanks for sharing" <-- This may be what he believed, or it maybe he is just being nice when working the friendly crowd. In all of these Bigfoot TV shows paranormal mind-reading never comes up when witnesses describe their claimed encounter. Usually the claims are traits like: - bad smelling odor - sudden encounter where bigfoot takes off - tree knocking - rock throwing - and so on. Limited to my TV viewing, I just don't see "many" saying they had the equivalent of a psychic experience/ your type of experience. We could even go to the extreme when the Son-of-Sam killer thought his dog was telling him to kill people. I have never personally had my Golden Retriever speak to me, but the Son-of-Sam Killer 100% thinks his dog spoke to him. That is his personal experience. What makes one Psychic connection crazy and other an objective truth? Had the Son-of-Sam killer said he had an encounter with Bigfoot and Bigfoot told him to kill people, what would we make of that? None of this is a personal attack on your integrity. Just fair questions based on the level of the claim being made. (Your biblical viewpoint mentioned I will not touch with a 10-foot pole) -

I have watched 57 head of elk in the middle of an expansive clearcut disappear into a little draw and though I could see the entire draw, I never saw them again. I even explored that draw and found no sign of them or where they went. It wasn't paranormal. The most intense feeling of fear i have ever experienced was caused by a squirrel starring at me. It was only when I saw the squirrel, that the fear went away.
