Why is the Forest Service and BLM so quiet about Bigfoot?
norseman replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
They don't have to silence them. All they have to do is attach a stigma to it. Which they have done so. This was going on with Commercial Pilots who had witnessed UFOs reporting it to the FAA. It was a great way to get your medical pulled. Step out of line and things will get hard for you. We know this tactic from other fields. If your a witness your either mistaken, a liar, a drunk or you belong in a padded room. There is zero chance in 2026 that the government doesn’t know Sasquatch exists. Military, Border and LE surveillance has picked up anomalies 100 percent. 🤷🏻♂️ We have them on highway cameras and even a eagle cam. There is no doubt in my mind there is better footage archived somewhere. So why the pushback? Why the obfuscation? -

In order to gain a bigfoot secret, the government has to study the creature which they won't do because public secrets or proof of bigfoot could help shut down logging. Remember how public studies of the Spotted Owl helped environmentalist shut down logging in a few public forests? "The northern spotted owl has been a focal point of environmental and economic conflict in Oregon for more than three decades. Listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act in 1990, it depends on mature and old‑growth forests, making timber harvest practices a central point of contention.", internet -

georgerm replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
Thanks for the reply NCBFr. Yes, the Forest Service and the BLM fully understands BF or partially understands since they have thousands of employees who travel the back roads of dense forest and many have witnessed bigfoot. These employees have reported their sightings to their bosses. The reports eventually reach the top echelons where they say nothing except bigfoot is a mythical creature, and it you keep talking about, it you will be fired. They know public knowledge of bigfoot could shut down logging in vast areas of America so they don't spend a dime on bigfoot studies and verification. -

Fisherman Watched Bigfoot for 15 Minutes Near Mt. Jefferson
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
For 15 minutes, a fisherman watched a tall, reddish-brown figure gathering cattails from an Oregon mountain lake. Then the wind shifted—and it looked directly at him. In Bigfoot Society Episode 1219, Ryan shares his encounter near Mt. Jefferson, describing the creature’s movements, its unusual behavior, and the detail he returned to measure the following day. He also recounts a nighttime tent collapse near Marion Lake and a rain-soaked hike from Bagby Hot Springs where calls grew louder behind him before another sound came from ahead. Other callers share a snowy Washington road crossing witnessed by four relatives, unexplained screams near Naselle, and reports from East Tennessee and Oregon’s Umpqua region. Those are good questions, georgerm! I have quit jobs for ethical reasons so, I kind of get it. Life is too short to live a lie, forever. I am of the opinion that Government(s) are not capable of keeping secrets for very long, which is a good thing. The truth eventually becomes obvious to everyone except hard-core denialists. I believe that many witnesses to the paranormal just see no real benefit in trying to convince others. They probably only tell their experiences to people they trust and perhaps (like me), they don't give a rat's ass about those who only ridicule. Sometimes, it seems perfectly reasonable to let simpletons bask in blissful ignorance. -

Why is the Forest Service and BLM so quiet about Bigfoot?
MIB replied to georgerm's topic in General Bigfoot Discussion
The federal government is not a homogeneous entity, it is a complex system with distinct parts in groups and tiers. I do not think there is a single means to stop 2.4 to 3 million federal employees, plus 1.3 million active duty military people, plus 3.5 million (plus) private contractors ultimately paid by the US government from talking to someone if there was a secret. That is only people currently in federal employment of some sort, doesn't include those who used to work for the US gov't in some capacity who would also know if the federal government as a whole fully understands bigfoot. So, with as much respect as possible given that I'm ridiculing your conclusion ... I find your "belief" functionally preposterous simply because a conspiracy of silence involving up to 8 million current people and several 10s of millions including living past employees is absolutely unworkable. I hope when you look at it in those terms, you also understand how preposterous it is. If we break it down a bit and just look at how many current federal employees, direct and indirect, work in areas overlapping historical bigfoot reports who would have to be silenced, it's still a number in the tens of thousands. It is not only that their awareness that bigfoot exists that has to be suppressed, but that they have been threatened with something if they do not maintain that secrecy. If you think that is possible you do not understand how absolutely stubborn people get when coercion is attempted. I don't know what I would do, not with absolute certainty. I might decide not to take a picture, I might decide to do so for personal reasons (counting coup?) only, or I might decide to to share ... it is hard to say for sure until I find myself in that situation. 'til then, all is speculation. That is more or less my approach though I do deliberately put myself in locations where I think they might be more likely to be. -

Based on my reading of hundreds if not 1000+ reports, I am a firm believer that the Federal Government as a whole fully understands BF and for reasons you can only guess feels it is best not to reveal them and even protect them where possible. For instance, what are the legal or even constitutional issues if they are some form of relic hominem? Even worse, what if they have an alien origin (which I do not believe but there are plenty of BF/UFO related reports). I have seen them and ran in to them multiple times over the last 30 years in NC and NJ (and may have a den/hunting blind build by them 100 yards from my back yard) and no longer care to get proof of their existence. I doubt I would reach for my camera or phone if one posed for me. Just leave them alone like they leave me alone when wandering through the woods. -

In terms of the impact of the arrival of europeans, you can't diminish the probable damage done by the foreign antigens, which may very well have killed off the the vast majority of sasquatch, at least those within close enough proximity to the natives as they became afflicted. The Europeans practice of laying blankets infected with yellow fever and the like across trails could have transmitted these diseases to the Bigfoot just as they did to the native americans. It may have taken longer to pass between them due to their more widespread distribution. There's estimates of 90% mortality rates amongst natives (even higher in south america) if this applied to the sasquatch, perhaps their rebound was slow, then as whites killed off the majority of upper level predators, and deer populations began expanding, eventually to the point of overabundance, then the sasquatch had plenty of prey, little predator competition, and more empty land to move into, reclaiming old turf, thus expanding their numbers once again. -
I hear you, Tex. Many members of our Forums want to leave their existence quiet for the reasons you mention—those restrictions, including conflict with logging interests, fed gov parks and endangered species. But many other of us are excited by the prospect of giving evidence that could confirm proof of Sasquatch’s existence to the world at large. It’s good for each person to consider where they stand on it. Stay happy to live where you do!

Mother Sees a 7-Foot Figure Step Onto a Trail Near St. Louis
BFFbot posted a topic in Bigfoot Society Podcast
A mother hiking with her two children near St. Louis spots a face watching them from the brush. Then the figure stands up. On this episode of Bigfoot Society, Lori recounts an encounter on Missouri’s Howell Island that left her focused on one thing: getting her children back to the truck. What she noticed about the figure’s face makes her account especially unsettling. More witnesses share unexplained experiences across the country: an Oregon firefighter-paramedic hears screams during a nighttime emergency call, a Georgia fisherman watches a massive figure cross the Chattahoochee River in roughly three steps, and two trail cameras disappear from a baited site while the remaining camera is found turned around. In Texas, hunters following a blood trail discover a strange footprint and hear a nearby farmer’s story about the field he stopped entering. Listen to Bigfoot Society Episode 1218 for firsthand accounts, unusual details, and the questions witnesses still carry. Except you’re forgetting the Chimpanzee that was dissected in London in 1699 by Edward Tyson. I said extant species right? Well then they do not need to lean on fossils. Regardless? Anthropologists will go look where the most fossils are. If you’re looking for a cryptid ground sloth? Science is gonna go look where the fossils were found. Thats the logic. Africa is the cradle of early hominids. 🤷🏻♂️

This video is totally amazing. It's about an old frail man from Washington state who had a business where he went into the deep woods and layed out logging operations. He flagged where the timber would be cut and the future roads to be built. While doing his job and being a nature lover, he became aware of a sasquatch here and there. He habituated them and over the years he learned how they lived and actually witnessed a funeral. They buried the deceased Sasquatch and disguised the grave with bark, rocks, and transplanted trees. For a long time, my best places to go involved a secluded pond. Wood knocks, audible movement around the pond, and red eyeshine. They work for me because people are less likely to be there especially when it is not easy to get to. I've decided to get an ultralight canoe, or more properly called a packboat. Short and light enough to be portaged. Get out on the water in the dark and silently paddle then stop, drift, and listen. Use the thermal to scan the shoreline. It enables you to get to spots on the pond quickly that would not be possible if trekked by foot. Moreover, the flashlight and noise while walking would immediately give away your position. I'll order in the next month or so but won't get it until next year. Looking forward to it.
