#1 Love the video. #2 A few years from now it is going to get really difficult to tell what is fake and what is real. This illustrates how good these vids are getting. Imagine a video 20 years from now; especially one made for harmful purposes vs comedy purposes.

This should be filed under the idea of "which is more likely" The thing that is more likely is probably true if the other option is really far-fetched.

If the feds know all about Bigfoot why isn't there a federal law covering the shooting or hunting of a Bigfoot? Not a deal breaker but seems pretty curious.

Weee...............wee............. ride the "derailment disappointment railroad to nowhere"...........oh by the way, "What do you think of the US Forest Service's view on bigfoot?" I know you are smart and must have some good ideas about this topic. The forest service must have endless detailed records on Sasquatch. Their top wildlife biologist know all about Sasquatch and most likely have been told not to discuss the issue until all the facts are known. I venture to say that a few of these wildlife biologists have observed bigfoot along with the woo factors as Tom Powel, a Portland, Oregon science teacher and others describe. Forest Service biologist are surely perplexed, so the forest service just states they are a creature of folklore. A this point they terminate the discussion probably because they are perplexed by standard bigfoot reports, and they know about the woo factor that accompanies about ten percent of credible sightings including my own experiences. This sounds ridiculous but some credible witnesses have seen bigfoot walking away and cloaking.................... yes, disappearing in a similar fashion as advanced nonhuman visitors. This is just the beginning of perplexing theories in regard to bigfoot. I will stop here since this is an approved divergence from the thread's topic which is, "what do you think is the forest service's view on bigfoot?"

@Huntster Geesh you could write a book on the incidents and you can't make this sheet up! Wow, just Wow! To stay on topic, Rich Germeau, co-founder of the Olympic Project and LEO Bigfoot Experiencer (interviewed on A Flash of Beauty) was on active patrol during one sighting. Had others though too. Would highly recommend reviewing his experiences as LEO and researcher. Not sure if his sightings were on Federal or state property but I know he had one experience near the Mason County WA line on/near an island in South Sound.

It gets worse. The California state AG's office has the authority over the return of all stolen guns statewide, and they require the gun owner to apply to get recovered guns back. Part of that application is providing the police report of both the theft and the recovery..........as if the AG's office can't just punch it up on their computer. I have the reports (two) on theft, but have been held with no info whatsoever on the recovery(s?) in one city. Frankly, I bet the evidence locker employee probably broke protocol in phoning me to inform me of the recovery.

Something similar happened in my neighborhood re: police report access. We had poachers running bears with dogs and firing rifles down community paved roads (not my personal real estate--although the dogs and bear crossed my property). A county policeman or two responded (after a resident cornered the poacher and verbally reamed him in front of the residence where he had children expected home from school)..... a police report was requested by me as an interested community member, and it was during Covid and recorded messages was all you could get. You had to have a direct link to the case to even get the case number. Long story short, no access and it is believed a report was not even written up and no charges filed. So, I feel your damn pain @Huntster

Not sure if this story is related to the other one just published; I'm clipping and posting so fast, I have little time to analyze. Who among us haven't confused a 14-year-old Chow for a gorilla or a Bigfoot? Published in the Washington Daily News on August 7, 1957

Another story, this time from the York (PA) Dispatch investigated by Robert Chance, high school teacher and Bigfoot investigator.

While I despise* The Making of Bigfoot - The Inside Story by Greg Long, the book does contain new and firsthand information relevant to the question of whether Roger Patterson, with or without Bob Gimlin's help, faked the P-G film. His interviews of Roger's brothers Glenn, Lester, and Loren - at pages 63 to 84 - offer a great deal of insight into the man behind the camera. For example: Glenn Patterson describes in detail just what a talented artist Roger was (although he mentions nothing about tailoring, tanning hides, or costume creation) Les Patterson noted that while Roger didn't become a self-made millionaire like he hoped, "he didn't die a pauper either" Loren Patterson revealed that Roger could carry 100 pounds in each hand, supporting the weight with only one finger I'm sure anyone who wants to read this book can find it on Amazon or their public library. Although I'm going to have to go through the whole book again, I'd rather have a root canal and a colonoscopy at the same time. *NOTE: I don't begrudge Greg Long his conclusions, but I have no time for the saintly journalistic aura he paints of himself as if interviewing Al DeAtley was the equivalent of being a member of the Resistance in WW II. Nor do I have patience for what I perceive to be his clear view of himself as superior to folks who work for a living or make mistakes in life and who don't meet Long's standard of being "proper." In my opinion, kicking the ghost of a dead man makes everyone who reads the book dumber; he deserves no points for this book, and may whatever god he believes in have mercy on his sole. I had forgotten that this was a two-part story. While looking for old reports from Ohio that Tirademan had found (which I never found), I came across the first half of the story, printed in the Cleveland (OH) Evening Post on June 23, 1868. As everyone probably guessed, a four-year-old child who wandered off while visiting the islands years ago had since grown to an 8-foot tall, hair-covered man.

Fifty years of lawyers have changed everything. Now police reports are like classified information. I had some firearms stolen in California a few years ago, and after recovering yet another gun, one police department is refusing to give me the police report on the recovery incident......and this after paying for the report. They say that I "have to be a victim" in order to get the report.........as if getting my firearms stolen doesn't make me a "victim".

^^^ I wonder what LEOs would do if those same reports came in today. Probably arrest the witness for making a false emergency call, or explain that they just misidentified a nine-foot tall plume of swamp gas or Venus low on the horizon.

Exactly, and perfectly explained. Hello, I was a member a few years ago and somehow my membership was deleted. So now I am back. I used to spend hours reading here. I have not had any encounters, but I know some folks who have had sightings. I have learned a lot from this forum and I am happy to be back.

Nothing that dramatic. Employee X, you are reminded that you are not permitted to speak as to the official government position. You may talk all you want about Bigfoot, Bigfoot, Bigfoot, but you must make clear that all opinions expressed in this interview, podcast, blog, etc., represent your personal views and do not represent the official view of the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S government, or any U.S. government agency. These are standard instructions for federal employees engaging in outside employment or volunteer work or outside speaking engagements (e.g., acting as an adjunct professor at a local college). Failure to follow those instructions may result in a wide range of disciplinary actions, ranging from an oral or written reprimand to being fired, depending on the nature of the violation. So Employee X is not fired because he says "Bigfoot is real," he's fired for ignoring the instructions or directions given him by his supervisor. I don't know of any case directly on point, but law enforcement personnel would want to remain silent to avoid being impaired during future testimony. For example, if FBI investigator Y states on live TV, "I saw Bigfoot run across the road in front of my official vehicle," that statement will be used to impeach that investigator every time she testifies. So, at most a smart investigator would say, "Well, something ran in front of my vehicle, but I was not able to identify the animal."
