Survivorman back at the search for Sasquatch

I suppose being self-funded would allow him to do things exactly as he sees fit without any concern for satisfying the wishes of third-party funding sources. I've always admired his work and think he is a straight shooter. I've always thought the best work would be done by one person willing to spend time in high-resource areas. The footprint is small and more likely to allay concerns a sasquatch might have with a large production. If it feels safe, it is more likely to approach. -
A few years back, I was with a sasquatching buddy at a remote pond we backpacked to. The sun had set and, with little moonlight, it was very dark. I did a wood knock and got a return knock about 6 seconds later from an area in a large swamp across the pond. Another 6 seconds later, a wood knock occured from my side of the pond. Both were loud enough yet far enough away I feel comfortable saying they were not a tongue pop. At least to my ears, both had the sound quality of wood-against-wood and neither sounded like a chest beat. It was also in a remote area that I'm confident no one else was around, particularly in the swamp. What does that leave as the origin of the return nocks? I'd guess wood. One of the great unanswered questions has always been how a return knock occurs so quickly and what is its source. Maybe a stick is carried more often than we'd think. It can be weapon by which to spontaneously hunt with (throwing), defend itself, or communicate with others. A multipurpose tool.

I've thought the same for years. Perhaps all of the human contamination or unknown primate results are each a dead end but in the interest of finding the truth it seems logical to keep test results where they can be accessed at a later date. We've all read about the number of unsolved murder cases being solved decades later as a result of new technology. The truth would have disappeared for eternity had the samples not been kept.

Any famous or semi-famous person who can increase focus on the subject is a positive in my book. Not all efforts are going to be at a Munns Meldrum discovery channel level of quality but that’s ok Besides, if you are mentioned and parady on TV’s The Office that’s no too bad -

Ken writes “I listen to your podcast and finally have the courage to talk about this. I’m not an outspoken person about this incident due to people thinking I’m crazy but I figure now is the time to come out about it. My Three other friends who this happened to are still scarred until this day and refuse to speak on it. So here’s what happened at Cuyahoga Valley national park. I was camping with some friends. There was 4 of us going up there to camp / hike and enjoy the outdoors. This happened sometime in July or August of 2019 but I can’t remember exactly what day it happened. Just as we set up camp we had the bright idea to go hiking. This was right about 7-8 pm at night when the park was closed but there was still daylight out. We started hiking near the Cuyahoga river on the towpath trail. We were hiking for a good half or so down this path and all of a sudden we had something throwing sticks that slowly progressed to rocks at us. At first we thought it was teens playing tricks on us but the longer it progressed we started to smell something pungent and our hair stood straight up. By this time the sun had gone completely dark and all we had was our phone lights to guide us. We all started running back to camp as quick as we could but whatever was tracking us was faster bigger and stronger. We eventually got winded then it all stopped. Dead silent the woods were extremely quiet and still and very eerie. Suddenly we heard the loudest growl we ever heard sort of like an angry wolf / bear. A friend of mine who had a firearm on him shined the weapon mounted light into the tree line where we were and we all caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a giant man / humanoid around 7.5 feet tall and as shown as the light shined on it it retreated backwards and never to be seen again. We then gathered our breathe and ran back to the camp as quick as we could and got into our tents. As we slept we heard multiple loud sounds outside our tent and sticks breaking. In the morning when we woke up our camp was destroyed and a pile of rocks was stacked up by the fire pit. We all agreed to never camp there again.” Listen to the Podcast

Almost like there's a shadowy faction of the government doing their best to suppress and disinform. I mean, if there were samples that "might be a new manatee" I don't think they'd be getting swept under the rug. Please take that with a grain of salt coming from me as I'm no scientist. Still it reminds me of one of my favorite X Files scenes. Enjoy.

I'm wondering what he needs the money for ? He's a pretty low tech guy when he goes out and doesn't use a crew of people where he needs to make payroll .I'm fairly certain he already owns anything he needs to take with him including thermal and night vision . If he finds something that really proves they exist not more tree structures or tracks then he won't have any problem finding the funding from Discovery or any media comapny really to get it into production . Hell they will be beating down his door with offers -

Definitely a popular news item these days. I posted about the escapees in Campfire Chat. Remember, they are harmless and hungry. The score is macaques 43, humans 0. A person came forward and admitted to the skunk ape hoax. I will check my files. Many times I have thought about the 'skunk apes' as being escapees from a circus during the wintering period of idle circuses. -

Not to my knowledge. Remaining samples and data were discarded when the presumed North American Great Ape was not clearly identified. As far as I know, nothing remains from the "failures" .. as if there was a fear that failure to prove was evidence for non-existence so they were "hidden." I wish that data were available to a skilled genetic researcher. I think there are commonalities in the "contamination" which are not contamination at all .. but we'll never know now, the past is gone, we're starting over at zero.

It seems to me that somehow there should be established a bank of all these DNA results that come up as human contaminated, and unknown primate, such that over time there would accumulate enough samples to begin a systematic comparison . it seems like every time such results are arrived at that's the end of it. The samples are destroyed and the results dismissed. Sure, theres no real centralized unknown primate DNA analysis center, but there must be a way to obtain the direct data of the studies(ie genetic markers present in sample, or not present, for that matter) I dont know what it costs to complete a genome mapping, but it seems like they are getting done for more and more species, maybe its time to try it on a couple of these unknown primate sample. Eventually these samples will begin to fall into groups with shared traits or similarities. Are there anything like this already in existence? Ones that included a variety of different regions samples? I can't say what Dr Disotell does with the data he sees sample by sample, It seems like Dr Sykes threw out half at the get go then destroyed the rest after he proclaimed the resurgence of the Himalayan grizzly(or was it a polar bear) It just strikes me there's bound to be distinctive commonalities within all these samples , which if fully charted out could at least lend itself to some degree, towards some form of classification or taxonomic placement, or at least "oh yeah, that goes in that pile over there..." Of course this is presuming the government doesn't grab up any samples of significance and already "doesn't have any such data bank whatsoever! Thank you very much"!
