I wonder what month they found that trackway? I am guessing April or May as the snow was melting. I too go out in late spring. The snow is heavy and holds weight. And something could be out of its winter den prowling around looking for spring vegetation or whatever. 1
bipedalist Posted Wednesday at 04:07 AM BFF Patron Posted Wednesday at 04:07 AM Nice production would like to get out that way before it burns up again. It would have been cool if they had the cold food coloring spray bottles of chilled water and the wax prep you can use for snow prints. I experimented with the preps on black bear snowy tracks one winter and it takes practice to get it right.

Many thanks for the links, obviously warming up quickly making it diffcult to cast snow prints for sure. The 3D scanner apps are good to have too on a phone for such situations. Essentially any lidar-like app cheap and available. I have not had experience with them but there are devices out there i know Jeff Meldrum and others have used to capture 3D images of casted prints, not sure how they work in snow but would be worth the discovery effort and research I suppose. Apparently you can then 3D print the scanned tracks if you so desire. Sounds cool! Not sure but the episode 269 may be a members only Patreon access show, ymmv, 14 mins without membership one way to listen Thanks again for the response and good luck on the forums.
