Yeah. Long stride. The print size doesn't seem huge compared to that stride. I wonder what month they found that trackway?

I am guessing April or May as the snow was melting. I too go out in late spring. The snow is heavy and holds weight. And something could be out of its winter den prowling around looking for spring vegetation or whatever.

Nice production would like to get out that way before it burns up again.

It would have been cool if they  had the cold food coloring spray bottles of chilled water and the wax prep you can use for snow prints.

I experimented with the preps on black bear snowy tracks one winter and it takes practice to get it right.

The snow trackway was discovered April 30, 2023

Bigfoot Society episode #269 (June 29, 2023) interview of Tod Samples and Doug Chez on the find.

Many thanks for the links, obviously warming up quickly making it diffcult to cast snow prints for sure.  The 3D scanner apps are good to have too on a phone for such situations. Essentially any lidar-like app cheap and available.  I have not had experience with them but there are devices out there i know Jeff Meldrum and others have used to capture 3D images of casted prints, not sure how they work in snow but would be worth the discovery effort and research I suppose. Apparently you can then 3D print the scanned tracks if you so desire.  Sounds cool!  Not sure but the episode 269 may be a members only Patreon access show, ymmv, 14 mins without membership one way to listen

Thanks again for the response and good luck on the forums.

Technology is catching up. Snowmobilers even admit that these snow bikes can go places they cannot. People just need to be aware.

Snow Video

Fantastic Video!

I want to thank you for posting this.  Took me a bit to get through it but found it fascinating.

I probably represent a large group of people who think of the PNW as some sort of big Forrest and that's about it.  (My California experiences are all SoCal and Palm Springs).

This video does an excellent job showing this incomplete road and the history behind it.  It takes me right there.  I knew nothing about it.   The drone work and the POV along the road is really telling. You feel any animal could jump out at any time.  You feel like if you broke your leg out there you might be a long way from help- road or no road.

On to the snow prints:

They are there.  The question becomes how did they get there?   If these were faked how they were faked on a somewhat uphill slope.   Finally, I see the effect of the somewhat straight line of tracks.  That is, some guy walking to the mailbox will always have a spread between left and right foot.  This has more of a walking on a tightrope look.

I can't explain it.  While I'm open to the idea something could be faked this is a really hard thing to explain away.

I do wonder if there would be any chance someone could have taken any DNA out of a scoop of that snow.  Let it melt and turn the water over to some guys in lab coats.

Thanks for posting this.

Another way of looking at tandem gait in snow  is replicating the actions of a Nordic or x-country skier

and this is what gives BF sightings that appearance of "glide".

Thanks for posting this, norseman. I now have a much better idea of the nature of the Bluff Creek area, and how much it resembles our local mountains. The snow trackway shown here is virtually identical to what I found and took John Green to in the late '70s, except that the tracks we saw were about 40% larger, though the stride and alignment match perfectly. Seeing that trackway brought back a flood of memories, including my first meeting with John, long before my later acqaintance with him through our local research group.

That’s awesome! And you also know my back ground and my experience with a snow trackway. I think a snow trackway could blow this whole thing open if it could be followed.
