Trogluddite Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 This is absolutely nothing I realistically have to worry about, but why would you trade off the extra rounds (1 for a .45, up to 4 w/a 9mm) and the speed in reloading? I'm assuming that you carry for close in defense against critters that want to eat you or your mules - is it just if the first six rounds don't save you, the rest is academic?

I wouldn't. Revolvers tend to be heavier, to boot. Their main advantage is not leaving brass at the scene of a crime for the police and courts to use against you. 2

I mainly posted this to show that like lever guns? Wheel guns are being dragged into 2025. With moon clips? Revolvers can be fast. And yes you’re probably not going to have time to empty your Glock on a Griz. But semi autos are cheap, come with picatinny rails and in 10 mm are respectable. And 600 bucks vs 2100 bucks. I carried a revolver most of my packing career. I no longer have mules but I carry a 1911 with a .460 Rowland kit. I also put a clamshell picatinny rail on it. The other problem with semi autos is if the slide is out of battery it won’t fire. Like if your rolling around on the ground and stick your pistol into its side.
Trogluddite Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Thanks for the feedback; I don't expect to ever have to use either other than for target practice. 11 hours ago, Huntster said: I wouldn't. Well, I was going to post a response to this, but it would quickly veer into Tar Pit territory, so I just upvoted you instead. 1

I don’t think there is a more beautiful pistol than a Colt Single Action Army. And to be completely honest? I don’t think there is a faster firearm. And there is a complete industry slicking up these firearms up to make them run even faster. They are extremely slow to reload and that’s why Cowboys simply packed more than one. Ive never owned a double action revolver. But I do like the Ruger Single Actions because of the transfer bar. Sometime we play Cowboy in the backyard! I am a complete retard with a wheel gun but even I can draw and fire it in about 1 second. And of course hit the man sized target!

Even teenage girls couldn't resist this level of beauty! 1

Trogluddite Posted December 31, 2024 Posted December 31, 2024 Norse, Impressive picture; you should have been in the 1880s! Love all the clips. Particularly impressed by the guy capping off 20 rounds with four different pistols. And I want to put in a good word for the flamingo glock - pull one of those and you'll probably gain 10 seconds until the bad guy stops laughing.... 1 2
